  1. @treborrolyat a clutch on an electric vehicle kind of defeats the object. Max torque at zero revs, so twist the throttle and off we go. Putting a clutch in increases the complexity and reduces the reliability. Noise makers to simulate engine noise are available and I think are required in some markets. And I’m with Kiwibob make them affordable, increase the range and reduce charge time and it becomes a viable product.
  2. There are a few subtle differences between the 2 classes and I think the DF65 has just about taken over. I know that as far as official racing goes DF and RG can race together under RG rules, but if the race is under DF rules then only dragons can race. Our club is a social club so we will have Dragons, my RG and micro magics on the water at the same time with the occasional Footy yacht joining in.
  3. We have quite a few at my club. I sail an RG65 which the dragon 65 is derived from. The dragon is a racing format and no modifications are allowed, unlike the RG. The hull is plastic moulding and, but not at my club, there have been some issues of cracks forming by the keel box. They can be easily carried fully rigged in a car so are ready for the water with minimal setup required when arriving at the water. They sail well and are easy to get on with. There are 3or 4 sets of sails available to suit wind conditions. The current model is version 7. This has changes to the hull thickness is areas, presumably to mitigate the above. The version 7 also has a revised sail winch. If you are buying new supplier should be selling V7 but second hand can be different, also if cheap models offered check the version. If buying new with radio gear installed go for the FlySky radio. It’s slightly dearer but it is a better radio than the Joysway unit. HTH.
  4. Less restrictions if drone is under 250g BUT if it is fitted with a camera then same restrictions as if over 250g. I think the restrictions cover all aircraft, drones, gliders and powered over 250g.
  5. Be careful describing it as “garaged” for insurance. I have seen some insurers defining a garage as “ brick or concrete construction with solid concrete base”.
  6. You could try Devitt.
  7. 4th dimension were used when I had an accident. Devitt were the brokers who arranged 4D. 3rd party admitted liability and bike was sorted within a couple of weeks, however getting damages to be paid for helmet gloves etc was a pain as the 3rd party was playing a game of rejecting the claim (3rd parties insurance was based in Eire). I did have to resort to very strong phone calls and emails to 4D and was given a new case handler who then managed to make progress. A uk based agent for the 3rd parties contacted me an said he could sort the bike side out as liability had been admitted but he could not act for me in regards to injury claims and loss of equipment due to conflict of interest so had to use my insurance provide “loss adjuster”. 3rd party finally paid everything my insurance paid nothing but I had to badger 4D. however as you did not suffer injuries or loss (helmet, gloves etc) should be ok. Do not be afraid to chase 4D if you thing things are not moving quick though.
  8. Cash. If you do online banking, Bank transfer and wait till you see it is in your account before you release the bike.
  9. It struggles to boot up now I think a dual boot system will kill it. It is about 6 or 7 years old.
  10. Was compatible with ME but I used it on XP and everything since then including Win 8 and I believe the first version win 10 (which dumped my scanner and printer).
  11. Car insurance renewal came and they wanted an extra £300! Phoned them up and “computers says NO” would not discuss or explain why the wanted so much more. so as I’m an old b****r I phoned Saga. so now car is insured with Saga for less than I paid last year.
  12. My windows laptop decided it would update the OS overnight sometime ago. Then I went to use paint shop pro. Only use it very occasionally, I then I found it wouldn’t load. Googled the problem, my version won’t work with the new OS and no patch. Only solution is a new version of Paintshop. However it can not be bought you have to pay per month or per year to use it. Not worth it. So go find laptop with XP and the broken screen and old spare monitor and Getty presto work done. and OH keeps moaning I never throw anything away.
  13. Many years ago I got stopped by the police and was told that my tow ball was partially obscuring the middle character on my number plate and would I please rectify it. Oh and by the way your indicators are not flashing at the prescribed rate. ( to be fair when the revs dropped and brake lights were on the indicators stopped flashing).
  14. Then when you press button B you get your money back.
  15. Mine was booked in for service and MOT. Nice and dry when I took it in. Got soaked clocking it. 🌧
  16. Took it in for MOT and service. MOT passed 2 advisories. And it totally p155ed down on collection and my waterproof trousers are no longer waterproof.

It’s because all electricity is sold appt the same base rate regardless of how it’s generated. Also the Shell that supplies electricity into the home has to buy from the open market it can not buy from the Shell that generates at a discount because they are run as 2 separate companies. The boss of Octopus energy was discussing this a couple of months ago. Their energy is 100% renewable but they can not sell at a reduced cost.
  21. Fitted new rear disc. Had an advisory last year disc was worn so EBC disc ordered. Fitting disc ‘bout 15 minutes. Un seizing the chain adjusters ‘bout hour and half . Refitting wheel was fun, why do Suzuki have so many loose bits to line up for the axel to go through. Got it all finished just before the rain arrived. My GPX was much easier.
  22. Private ownership in general not too bad, but allowing foreign companies to buy up the energy and other utilities is the problem. Though I tend to think utilities should be under one controlling interest.
