I did my test "local" and had never been on the route before! To be fair the instructors will take you on the routes and its good to go on routes you don't know as you don't get complacent

Module 1 Test requirements
Hoggs replied to freezing's topic in CBT, Test and Advanced Training Information
Well that's a tricksy one.... as far as I can tell the 185 rule applies for exchanging a licence only. You only need to be here for 180 days to apply for a provisional. And surely if they give you a provisional you should be able to use it to take the test. I am also unsure but would lean towards examiner making a mistake? EEP I am normally wrong though -
You may need a bit more than a cap. I have an 18l tank and put just over a shots worth in (which I measure by pouring in and going "oooonnnnnnnnneeee " it does seem to have helped in that the bike doesn't backfire every time you start it now

Awesome pics. I am insanely jealous!

Excellent choice of colour there Mandy

I'd recommend getting some tuition and using their bikes. Pretty sure it's tricksy to get learner bike insurance and you may be a good rider but an instructor knows what the examiner wants to see. And we al pick up bad habits that need straightening out! There's been a few threads about this I think general concensus is get some lessons *waits to be corrected *

CBT - Experiences of other Members
Hoggs replied to slanty's topic in CBT, Test and Advanced Training Information
Sounds like a (mostly) good day Via! Unfortunately idiots pulling out in front of you is a normal occurrence but sounds as if you nailed it as you had a nice big gap and didn't panic brake! Also I remember for about a week after my CBT I would not let go to open / close the visor either! You'll soon get the confidence and wonder why you thought it was such a big deal! Then you can also wave at small children when you go past, whilst I generally dislike kids the pure joy they have at waving at bikes warms even my cold dead heart -
Oh this is why I didn't want to ask because I just knew it was going to be something worse than I thought thanks forum dad hmm I have to take the front fairing off tomorrow to fix my indicator so hopefully then I can get a better look at everything.

Word up peeps. Quick question - when I was getting my fork seals done the guys put my clips on's back slightly wonky - the right is a bit further away from the tank if that makes sense. Is it literally as easy as undoing the clips on the forks, straightening it out and doing it up super tight?? I saw that video a while back of a racer who's clip on falls off and it's terrified me!

But you can never have too many tools! Got to have back ups of stuff just in case... and I do *need* three torque wrenches.

My initial negative comment was directed at the sweeping generalisation of women not being able to say what they want. But yeah thought I should check it out. There are parts that make me do a scrunchy up face though - there was one bit of "if the woman is unusually attractive don't hit on her too quickly because she is used to that". I think the over riding vibe is be more confident. I think watching Magnolia and hearing about that american guy (who is a massive dick) who claims to be one of these love guru people may have heavily tarnished my opinion of these people. I am willing to admit when I am wrong (worst woman ever!). But I am still slightly put off by the whole idea of some kind of step by step guide to getting a woman as if we are all the same and if you just laugh at our jokes in the right way we'll marry you.
-
Does he talk about green bikes? But in seriousness I have read some of the blog posts and basically he seems to say "don't be a dick". Which is good advice. I dunno how you can string that over a whole books worth of pages but maybe some of the sweeping generalisations make up some of the filler.

FYI as a woman, the above makes me sad. Not all women won't tell you want they want. Anyone who has met me can probably vouch for the fact that whatever I am thinking is probably coming out my mouth
