  1. Welcome, can't see your images , its really easy to upload direct to the forum , just go attachments, add files , select from your images , wait for the tick and submit .

  3. Looks like an internet can of worms to me .
  4. Tim , its a Barnett spring conversion ( from diaphragm ) but it is using EBC plates so EBC's oil recommendations would be the more relevant. Ironically it was Castrol Power One that I used with my EBC SRK clutch kit that slipped and burned . This is what EBC say but it sounds like bollox to me . It's as if they don't realise that a wet clutch runs in the same oil as the rest of the engine . ( taken from the instructions for HD plates )
  5. I don't know if its exactly the right one but it ought to give a general idea .
  6. Compared to my bike there's a lot of things that could go in upside down or in the wrong order . Don't know if this is exactly your model but I can see plenty of opportunities to get it wrong . This is where Haynes manuals excel over factory workshop manuals . Parts 4 to 9 are where I'd start looking . Plus , is the spring the right way up ?
  7. Is there a seating washer that goes in first ? There is on my GSXR and it took me ages to work out which way up it goes . In the end I got it right but it was not the way round that my instinct was initially telling me . I'll have a look at some schematic drawings later today to see if I can shed any light .
  8. Joking apart, the plates haven't become gummed up with the sealant that you used on that DIY clutch window have they ? I agree with Megawatt , don't rough the plates up , that's the last thing you want to do on a dragging clutch . Have you measured and inspected the push piece/rod and bearing against manufactures specs ? Sorry I don't know the specifics of a Yam clutch but wear in these parts will cause clutch drag . If its hydraulic have you checked for air ?
  9. You've got a manual right ? https://moto-odejda.ru/file/HondaNithawk.pdf
  10. Fake oil ? That's a new one on me . What you need is some kind of window in your clutch cover so you can see what's going on inside . ( sorry , couldn't resist ) On a more helpful note , I fitted an EBC SRK clutch with HD springs to my GSXR last year but earlier this year it started slipping . I sent photos to EBC who asked me to send it to them . Three days later I received a brand new clutch free of charge . EBC even paid my postage which considering that I bought the clutch from Demon Tweeks is a brilliant piece of customer service. Could be worth a try .
  11. You didn't park it under a tree by any chance ?
  12. Couldn't have put it better , I too have often junked closing cables . As long as the throttle snaps shut you're ok .
  13. Stick it on eBay and look for an electric one instead . I borrowed a 24 volt one recently and the guy I borrowed it from assured me that electric ones are every bit as powerful and effective as air power ones . He wasn't wrong , it scared the shit out of me !
  14. Absolutely, a leak from the cylinder head cover is an easy fix whereas a leak from the cylinder head gasket or cylinder base gasket is another matter altogether.
  15. Oh dear , looks like another one hit wonder .
  16. I take it you don't like any of the selection of affordable aftermarket ones on eBay then .

    Advice Please

On second thoughts is it really worth sanding through that powder coating ? If you do then you're asking a lot of any lacquer. Getting it to stick to raw ally without flaking off or turning yellow is one thing but sticking to powder coating is not something I have tried . How about using some high temperature silver paint on a roller to highlight the raised portions instead ?

    Advice Please

How about making up some sanding blocks instead using emery paper and some bits of wood . I use these on my model planes . I use superglue to attach one end of the paper to the back of the block and stretch the paper tightly round then glue the other end to the back also . This makes them flat and reusable .
  19. Would you expect to be treated like this if you had bought a washing machine from Curry's and it didn't work properly ? Like I said , a motorbike is just another consumer product . Forget all this dicking about , and get a replacement.
  20. Sounds like time to stop this messing about and ask for a new bike . We've seen this scenario too many times . Forget about it being a motorbike and treat it like any other faulty consumer product and demand a replacement. Who's paying YOU for YOUR time spent trying to sort this out ?
  21. Strangely enough, years ago , I raced a CBR 600 all the way from Silverstone . When we got near Coventry I let him pass to see if I knew who it was and they had a small kid clinging to their back like a rucksack . Thankfully the kid had a full mini race suit on . A few a days later a copper came into the bike shop where I worked to take a break from nicking speeders on the A444 . " Good race on Sunday Bob " says he . Yep it was the CBR rider .
  22. I've got to get back into the private sector.
  23. Yeah, the bike was fine , nothing had time to go crispy.

  25. Wow ! Must have hurt like hell , glad you recovered ok . In future I shall be carrying a piece of tubing to siphon the fuel out if it happens again. Also looking at fitting a tap with an OFF position .
