  1. you may have the race version .
  2. r&g and gb racing engine covers yes you need to trim but you have the knowledge they are made for the job . saving £20 on cheap overseas variants may cost you a lot more afterwards . you could always look for a secondary set of panels to alter and retain the originals ( the spares may already be adapted )
  3. consider this Blind bend your travelling at 30mph oncoming vehicle is travelling at 30mph your combined closing speed is 60mph jus because its nsl limit does not mean its suitable to travel at that ..
  4. battery connections would be my first port of call
  5. old kawasaki suffer with ignition switches getting hot from exhaust and engine heat . this allows the wires/contacts in the rear of the switch to move and lose contact . my old zzr took it one level further and the contact point was so loose it fell out and cut the power in 3rd lane m4 ... i had been struggling with hot starts prior to this and tried everything feasible ..ie valve cleaeances , carb balance new.plugs , battery etcetc after replacing the switch unit i had no further issues ( i had a temporary toggle switch system until i sourced a reasonable ignition switch unit ) which made me realise that i had no problems starting when hot . only problem was i did once get so complacent with this system i just get on the bike start off and then realise i had not put the key in to disengage the steering lock ... and i had a pillion on board .we both ended up on the floor .Lesson learnt . remove the lower section of switch( bit with wires) ( no need to undo the tamper bolts ) look at the wire to contact mounts and see if they rotate in the mouldings .
  6. Well spotted, I just thought they could hang another charge on the git. What about wearing obscene underwear is that before the impact of after because i bet they were in a worst state afterwards ...
  7. Sadly no its an offence not to divulge who was the rider at the time so you will get prosecuted one way or another. writing things on paper ......WTF ANPR and Video Evidence can be used to prove its your bike as regardless of its popularity every vehicle will have its own unique look ...ie damage, mods etc

    Fork seals

But have you considered how much oil has been lost ... is the leg empty hence why no more oil ..when you get chance i would suggest checking the level .
  9. decent tools would help ... try a pair of vice grips/mole grips and a pin punch . could be the long game of soak with wd or similar and tap and soak but remember to clean all surfaces of said wd before riding. check that your tapping the right direction and that its designed to tap out . applying heat you run the risk of burning the seals and boiling brake fluid unless you have a small flamed blowtorch but even then you run a risk .
  10. not had any issues needing a damper and have pushed it . I ride a gtr1400 as a normal bike and if im feeling a bit of proper lunancy i get the old 96 cbr600 out .
  11. depends on your definition of south http://iwanttowheelie.co.uk/find-us/
  12. just to annoy ... this is the wifes 2019 636 ...
  13. you can always retake cbt and theory has a validity period however passing a test will preserve a theory and make a cbt irrelevant
  14. check your bank account for cover or insurance ok to put it in perspective breakdown without cover call the AA will cost you on average in a breakdown situation local cover the cost of standard roadside cover ....( valid for local recovery) circa £35 A breakdown surcharge of circa £99 If you breakdown further afield you will requirw national recovery/relay cover which will be circa £68 plus the breakdown surcharge ...however it is only valid for 50miles in the first 24hours of service ..anything over that is chargeable at circa £2.50/ mile why not just get minimal cover for £30-40 pound and at least if you need more you upgrade . check whichever companies terms and conditions as not all are equal some only allow vehicles under 10 years old .
  15. What's wrong with that, i often set the cruise control at 56mph when on the m'way 56mph is better than 50. Driving much slower than the general flow of traffic can be hazardous IMO,not just on motorways but on any road. I used to regularly get stuck behind a car along the Banbury to Southam road in a massive queue because the driver chose to drive at 35-40 on a 50 mph road. 56 your are in continuos compettion with hgv vehicles which to me is placing yourself in greater danger thsn 50 mph
  16. nowt wrong with it . some supermarkets limit their trucks to 50mph . Certain sized loads are speed limited to 50mph its quick enough to get somewhere without major concern. it allows trucks pass within their limited speed constraints with ease . remember a leaf is electric and travelling at higher speed s eats the available power resource
  17. The grass looks a bit patchy, needs some fertiliser on it, know anyone who does muck spreading its not the lawn its a new windowcleaner ...look at the light difference ...
  18. do you park next to a kerb by any chance ? to me that looks like bike has dropped against something raised ie kerb edge ...look on lower panels to see if any new scrapes . someone may have either fancied sitting on your bike and oopsied it or someones knocked it over is my opinion
  19. there is no way a car door has done that in my opinion it would knock the bike off its stand to create that impact and there would be directional scrape marks as door opened ...
  20. no stop behind car is safer and one tip i always impart for most ASL cycle boxes The space generally between the first ASL and central islands is sufficent to allow Emergency service vehicles to continue through the junction on the correct side of carriageway so staying behind first vehicle means they don't have to way up squeezing past you or offsiding into oncoming traffic .
  21. try using that with a traffic cop and see how far it gets ya ... I see what you are saying but why does the log book class it as a bicycle and not a motorcycle? as it is a two wheeled vehicle hence bi as in two .... cycle as in vehicle classification how it is powered is the decisive factor re ASL rule 178 of Highway code has the large bold words MUST NOT and the relative law to it .
  22. Well why on the log book is it classed as a bicycle? try using that with a traffic cop and see how far it gets ya ...
