2. Yes we wouldn't want horrible socialist things like the NHS would we.. far better to let the weak and poor die. Oh you're a type 1 diabetic and need insulin to live? Bad luck, hope you aren't poor! I wonder if they would donate to a go fund me for a friend or relative struggling to pay medical bills? Or would that have the whiff of socialism too? Land of the free indeed.
3. onesea Generation Y are millennials, the two terms are interchangeable those born between 1980 and 1994, apparently.
4. Yep shoved through the letterbox, it's a house converted into flats so we share that front door, then have our own door, so we didn't hear it come through. She is 7 and a half so quite set in her ways.. barks a lot at other dogs but not a lot at home. Just more than usual during firework season! I'm not concerned enough to contact the police over it, any more notes and I might consider it.
5. Well I received this delightful message posted through my door on Friday evening, what a masterclass in the art of passive-aggressive behaviour! No name or address, but they still signed it!? Straight in there with threats of reporting us to the council My dog is not a fan of fireworks, but she definitely does not bark 'continuously'.
6. Thanks guys, it is due its MOT so will need to get them sorted one way or another.
7. A previous owner has fitted LED indicators on my gsxr 600 SRAD (1998), I noticed last weekend that only the front right and back left are actually flashing, and too quickly at that. Is there any chance one of these will work? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/141328413564 It says it's just a 'plug and play' swap for the old one which seems a bit too good to be true? And presumably may not address why 2 of the 4 indicators aren't flashing.
8. What a beauty! Nice one bonio
9. Thanks. I will bare those in mind for the future. I still wonder how good battery heated gloves are. Not the ones from maplin though. I think we established that these should be off the market! I have a pair of battery powered RST heated gloves, got them cheaply on ebay as sportsbikeshop were selling customer returns. They are quite good, they heat the back of the hand, so work best with heated grips heating your palms. Last a couple of hours on the warm setting. Supposedly waterproof but as usual with these things, they are at best water resistant.
10. It was Lateralus I think, haven't seen him post in ages though.
11. I suspected the same, I switched from 3 to Smarty, usually signal is ok but sometimes it tanks for no apparent reason.. but overall I'm happy with the price in paying.
12. Have you forgot the field at the rally That was off road too and so doesn't count
13. Oh dear, I'm on 4 already since 2017 Not including crashing into the barrier and coming off during cbt, as that was off road. Maybe should have taken the hint though 1st - coming off a roundabout, seea guy about to step into the road on a zebra crossing (still don't think these should be across roundabout exits) slam on the brakes.. rear wheel slides regains traction and high side.. uninjured and milk in my backpack unburst! 2nd - passenger in taxi opens her door into me. No injuries but took ages to sort insurance as the taxi driver wouldn't admit fault even though the passenger had opened the door randomly in the middle of the road. 3rd - lost it from under me on a roundabout. Weird uneven surface on the inside lane but still, my fault. Smashed both mirrors. 4th - too fast round a roundabout. Proving I'm an idiot and don't learn! Uninjured. Crashed in front of a whole queue of traffic, very embarrassing sliding along behind the bike! Something I've noticed, if you get back up immediately no-one will pay you any mind or offer help.
14. I'd think for that price they would at least give you a custom paint job, not a bunch of decals on a white bike
15. Sorry to hear about your Tiger Bonio I know that feeling of disbelief when you come outside and find your bike gone. Not sure what to suggest that hasn't been mentioned. Maybe a Sprint, with bar risers perhaps? Still get that triumph triple then
16. I think the bottom fell out of the market, everyone has been buying larger 1000cc superbikes, super nakeds or even adventure sports. As they all now come with all the fancy electronic packages, perhaps making them seem more manageable than in the past? And if you're going to buy a bike on finance as is now de rigueur, that extra cost over a 600 won't seem too bad broken down into monthly payments. Plus are 600cc sportsbikes really that useful on the road, they can feel pretty gutless at lower speeds, by the time you get into the power band you're starting to run out of road.. most 1000's have more immediate grunt so feel better at less crazy speeds(?) I mean I just bought an old gsxr 600 but still I can see the argument has some validity. You make a fair point, modern 1000s are insanely fast and have never been more forgiving due to the electronics packages, although you have to work a 600 more most of us would probably be just as fast on one and it would feel a bit more involving, I really like both 1000s and 600s personally. How old is the GSXR you love bought?, I did a couple of track days ages ago on a hired K6 or K7 and thought it was great. K6/K7 why that would be practically new to me, mine is a '98 Barely had a chance to ride it so far but it feels quick enough, noticeable that it lacks power low down but I expected that. No doubt it would feel like a lumbering dinosaur after your Ducati!

18. Standard or iridium, does it make much difference? Is it just a case of iridium plugs lasting longer, or are there other benefits?
19. Are all the roads currently unrestricted?
20. They probably meant the 675, it's a much more sorted bike than the 600. That being said, I had a Triumph TT 600 (precursor to the Daytona 600), and that was actually pretty decent and not expensive, as it doesn't have a great reputation compared to the equivalent Japanese 600s. What about the 650? If you're looking to get a cheaper insurance quote you should go for a naked bike, they are always cheaper than a similar faired bike. Thanks. I've heard the 675 is overall better bike. It's just out of my price range really. Well more than for that money I could get an old street Triple. The only 650 I can see on auto trader has an British flag decal on the front which I personally hate. Yeah just haven't seen any that stand out for me if I'm honest. I might go back and take another look but nothings jumped at me. I hate to say I'm a bit of a sucker for a bike that looks good. Obviously other far more important parts and shouldn't care what bike looks like but guess I'm still a newbie! Fair enough, and I'm not a fan of Union Jacks either, or flag decals/paint in general. If you like the Daytona and can afford the insurance for it, go for it. It's a pretty bike for sure
21. Thanks for the replies When fitting the new filter does it need to be to a certain torque or can it be just hand-tightened? Seems to be some debate over this issue.
22. I've decided my old (new to me) gsxr could probably do with an oil and filter change, are these: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Draper-68813-Oil-Filter-Strap-Wrench-Repair-Adjustable-Removal-Tool/283426758043?hash=item41fd8d1d9b:g:fk8AAOSw27dclPH0 sort of things any use for taking off the old filter? And is it easy to fit a new one? Cheers
