  1. Seats can grab a bugger to slide into place mine on the Africa twin can be the same os @Old-codgersays fix in another rhe front and push back can be annoying
  2. Yes biker down is good and delivered by experts. It's always good to prepare for the worst but we all think it will never happen. Emergency service response times get longer now especially in the sticks so chances are come across something and your on your own. Most road users will stop to look but not get involved
  3. just double checked mine ready for this year quite a small kit but some important stuff, resus mask shell dressing and tourniquet along with basics like pain relief tablets, plasters, antiseptic cream bandages, dressings, gloves, scissors, cleaning wipes and thermal blanket. Worth considering putting a kit together sometimes cheaper buying separate stuff to a generic kit which contains a lot of stuff you don't need.
  4. I used to love Terry and June a catchy tune it is too!
  5. I often get tunes in my head all day this is today's hit:-
  6. Might seem like an odd question but who carries a first aid kit in their bike and what does it contain. I usually carry one on mine treat ir as a bit of essential kit
  7. That's very local for me about a 20 minute ride. I'm sure @renniewill be able to also say rhere are plenty of great local places to visit
  8. Middle of the country makes sense I guess. All my camping gear is packed in a dry bag ready for the warmer weather
  9. That looks nice and suits the bike, I bet it sounds great. Dod you need to flash the ecu or anything or was it a straight swap? I'm sure it's a lot lighter than the standard can too!
  10. My current commuting pic
  11. @Fiddlestickshope ur alright can feel a little battered and bruised later. As @manxie49 says bad weather compounded by bad road users doesn't help this time of year. Normally I ride all year round ish but sometimes things are out if your control however good your riding leave it at home and gone for some better weather
  12. With bikes I think it depends what you want to do with them. Mines an 1100 it still returns over 60mpg on a good run and does everything I need. Cost of ownership is within my range.
  13. All sounds achievable if it takes longer its no issue. Maybe worth hassling your gp re your cholesterol levels. I know a lot moan about stating but thy keep me alive I have familial hypercholesterolemia genetic issue I see a specialist now and she keeps it all in range even on the perfect diet mine would be too high. I maybe going onto injectable treatments in the summer instead of stating. It's something we all need to get checked when we get older beats a stroke heart attack or worse !
  14. Yes indeed will be a civil matter as others have said registered keeper and owner are different. Seems she took the finance out in her name for him v common. Will be a job for a solicitor not cheap. Best speak to finance company first
  15. @Mississippi Bullfroghope you have a good one lots of jelly and ice cream!
  16. Anything is better than doing nothing normally you feel the difference after 3 weeks. Keep it up so important to stay active. With all my recent issues I was told had I not kept fit I'd most likely have been a dead man by now and I'm 46! Keep an eye on ur blood pressure and cholesterol levels simple things Dr's can sort these days. I think us blokes especially just plod on and don't always see the warning signs
  17. Wife bought some cheap designer clothes from an outlet issue was they couldn't rake the tags off hence v cheap. YouTube showed how to take them off had to freeze the dye tags first
  18. Love this time of year gardens come back to life !
  19. That's not so bad then as an add on. Looking forward to seeing a few reviews of both bikes and and adventure orientated versions
  20. I had mine applied I didn't think I'd be up to the task that did a good job cost £200 though
  21. Suzuki has a quick shifter I think the Honda has it as a £750 option, id imagine the honda gearbox will be slick tho. Will be interesting to see the suzuki and Honda reviews and comparisons when they come out.
  22. Necessary to ride quicker too lol
  23. Iyes most days in the train people having conversations on loud speaker I think it's self importance most the time. Idiots listening to music and videos too on loud speaker it's just all about them unfortunately!
  24. Yes with you on the common sense but need to check for hazards sometimes junctions or other hazards on hatchings. Even if dotted should only enter if necessary. In usual legal terms there is no definition of necessary another example of fine 99% of the time in the event of a dink it maybe an issue. I wish there was a glossary of terms but as usual it's all grey areas which doesn't help us road users.
  25. As said if your not happy to do it you don't have to. If its a broken white line you can cross it if safe. Roadcraft may not show this as its dependent on safety. If you consider overtaking and look at the pics in roadcraft you should see the overtaking vehicle is well over the other side of the carriageway. Take into account hatched markings in the centre of the road people routinely enter these when you really shouldn't. If you don't feel it's right don't do it. Maybe consider a bike safe course, Rospa or IAM anything like will hopefully give you the skills to do the right thing on the road with confidence.
