I really hope it’s not the crank position sensor as I found out that it’s routed behind the cam chain guide / tensioner & that needs to come out to fit a new sensor

It has got a none OEM fuel filter in the tank, that although clean(ish) does look like it’s got a dislodged filament, I’ve got a proper one on order.

Not totally sure, although when it grinds to a halt it will start and idle.

Thanks, this is a good idea, I have an OBD2 reader and would just need to purchase an adapter to plug into the bikes diagnostics port. I have discovered that the bike itself will show up any issues with a series of flashes of the FI light, this comes on when you hit the starter and goes off as it should do. I’ll return to this once I’ve got the new fuel filter and buttoned it all up.

Thanks for the suggestion Would it cool and close over 30 seconds? I’ll look up on how to test it

Has anyone experienced this and found a solution? My new to me 2016 KTM 350 EXC-F (single cylinder 4stroke with fuel injection) has developed an issue: It starts with no issue It rides with no issue But !! After about 2 to 3 miles it starts spluttering, loses power and grinds to a halt as if running out of fuel despite having plenty of fuel in the tank, after about 30 seconds at the road side it starts & idles but a few hundred yards up the road it does it all over again, ad nauseum until I get home - luckily not far. So far I have: Checked and cleaned the battery terminals & where the earth strap attaches to the chassis. Checked and cleaned all the connectors stuffed behind the headlamp. Checked and cleaned the inline filter within the quick release tank fuel pipe connector. Removed the tank and checked that the in-tank fuel pump is working with no splits or cracks in the hoses or filter. It had a new injector just before I got it ( receipt and old one provided ) The in tank filter looks ok but I’ve ordered another one to fit while it’s all apart. The next course of action would be to purchase a fuel pressure measuring kit to see if it falls when the bike grinds to a halt. Oh I’ve checked the tank breather as well Any more ( sensible ) ideas?
  8. Turned up today A good fit as well
  9. Just had an update: “We have now dispatched your order and it should be with you within the next few days.”
  10. That’s plainly bollock, Billionz has Billion in it which is a lot more than 60 Million, how much more depends upon whether it’s an American or UK Million
  11. Got the same one, so it’s after Xmas for me
  12. Find out (In writing) if they are going to charge for providing the service, especially storage costs, as it will come out of any settlement you get, they can charge extortionate amounts and you can end up with no bike & owing them money.
  13. I’ve been told mid January
  14. I’d be surprised if the lack of aftermarket parts support lasts for long, it’s a very lucrative revenue stream, JLR makes more money from sales of aftermarket parts & servicing than it does from selling new cars ( or did when I left 6 years ago )
  15. Happy birthday A’ve a good’un
  16. Although I agree with the sentiment, you don’t want “It was my right of way” engraved on your tombstone
  17. My current car has remote app which allows me to stat in the warm house with a cuppa while the engine starts, the cabin warms up & the widows defrost. I’m not being too smug, it won’t let you put the heated seats or heated steering wheel on
  18. The Solicitor that dealt with my divorce was brilliant. My ex’s side kept sending separate letters for each minute issue ( she’d got legal aid ) purposefully to bleed me as they expected a separate reply to each one at £200 a pop, my solicitor spotted it straight away and told me she would only answer when they started getting snotty, then she’d answer the lot in one go. The CSA had just come into force & I was her first client involved so she was learning as we went which involved a lot of letters ( at £200 a pop ), when we finally finished she pulled my file which was about 18” thick of letters she said she would give me a 80% discount as she was now the practice expert
  19. My Gerbing gloves killed the battery on my Speedtriple, it was the original one so probably a good job I had to swap it before the sprag clutch got mangled. Got batteries for the gloves but they only last a couple of hours on full power.
  20. Looking forward to the results
  21. An excellent day spent at Motorcycle Live, the guys I went with bought beers along to celebrate my birthday. Much sitting on bikes we’re never gonna buy & a birthday prezzie to myself of some Ultimate moulded ear plugs to replace the ones I lost, one of the other guys got the same after my endorsement - sadly no commission. Back home with a beer in hand and all’s well with the world. I bloody love bikes
  22. Thanks all - Just off to Motorcycle Live on the train, £2 return as there is a group of 4 of us, we’re all over 60 and not rush hour - not enough of a saving to buy a beer at NEC prices though
  23. Dunno what the heatings like in your garage. The cold snap may well have made the inlet rubbers stiffer & harder to fit. Maybe try getting some heat into them to make them more malleable & some silicone spray to ease assembly.
