Hiya Have another look and see if you disturbed any wiring when removing the battery, you never know, it might just be a dodgy connection on a relay?
-
@onesea on reflection, looking at what you intend to be doing, I think the Anakee Wilds wouldn’t be the right choice, something more road focussed with an off road capability is probably the way to go.

I love a story with a happy ending
-
Next up is to splatter it with all the destination stickers bought from EBay… oh & a fake sheepskin on the seat

Michelin Anakee Wilds, these are a 50/50 tyre “MICHELIN Radial-X Technology, used for the first time on a Michelin knobbly tyre, makes for on-road stability and rider comfort” These are knbblish tyres but durable on the road, not really for muddy green laning but can be used as such if your prepared to slow down and maybe paddle a bit.

I’m slightly puzzled by the aftermarket parts support for bikes made in China, I used to work in the 4 wheeled version of that arena & know that the company I worked for made more money from the aftermarket than actually selling cars. I can only assume that the Chinese bike manufacturers see their products as being so cheap that they are essentially disposable, if it breaks just throw it away & buy a new bike. (which would be a lot cheaper and have a much smaller mark up than say, a replacement Range Rover bumper)

Fuel injected bikes have a fuel pressure regulator somewhere between the pump & the injector, don’t know about your bike set up, but I had a similar issue where the regulator was gummed up and constantly partially open thus bleeding off the fuel pressure that should be going to the injector.

Speedy had a small wee when I arrived at the old gits club this week ( thanks go to Brother Dunc for pointing it out ) So I took off the rad side cover and inspected the rad cap, all looked ok, but it did need a top up. Put the cap back on and ran it on idle until the fan kicked in, the cap was working coz I could see fluid bubbling up into the expansion tank, thermostat was fine as the hose got hot …. But no leaks at all , maybe giving the rad cap a quick clean and refitting it solved the issue … who knows?, s’pose I just need to keep an eye on it.

Adventure type bike to cruiser, what to expect?
Mickly replied to Throttled's topic in Motorbike Chat
Not ridden many cruisers, just as courtesy bikes, one was a Triumph America with foot boards, the riding position was ok, but at 6’2” I found it a bit cramped, grinding out the foot boards was juvenile fun for a bit, then it got tedious, when I told the dealer they said something like “bloody Speedtriple riders, good job it’s got replaceable sliders on the foot boards” Another was an early Rocket 3 with all the bells & tassels, foot boards, bags, high screen, auxiliary lights etc, the riding position was very comfortable & it had loads of grunt, it was hilarious passing traffic at warp 10 and seeing their faces as this Wurlitzer stormed by …… until I got to a roundabout … it ground out and did a bucking bronco impression, all I could think about was the £1000 insurance excess, luckily we came out the other side unscathed. I also had a Triumph Bobber which was comfortable and easy to ride, bend swinging was a breeze, the only issue I had was when the air flow started to force my knees away from the tank, but 90+ mph are not what they are about … apparently -
And the front engine cradle / frame stiffener / bit of bent tube? Plus autolube?

In 1975 I had a Lambretta Li150 that someone gave me as a non runner, took me a weekend to get it running, then I took a hacksaw to it and undertook what would be known now as Antisocial off road riding or in those days just kids dicking about, eventually smashed it up by jumping it in the local woods, it got scrapped. The reg was 99 LOV … imagine what it would be worth today £££££

One wonders what my old school is like these days...
Mickly replied to Tinkicker's topic in General Chat
Wouldn’t go into my old school unless I was heavily armed & with back up -
Early in our courtship we borrowed my parents motorhome and went to a site in Pembroke, got there Saturday morning & the sun was blazing, by late afternoon it was pissing down, we were cozied up, warm & dry by the evening, when a young couple on a bike rode up and proceeded to try and pitch a tent, I was having a warming glass and being thoroughly entertained watching them do it …. When Missus Micklys mothering instinct kicked in and kicked me out to help the guy and send the ‘poor girl’ in for a cuppa and a warm. Once we got the tent up, everything they had was soaking wet so they ended up sleeping on the floor of the motorhome ( as well as drinking my rum!! ) Following day was lovely & they managed to dry everything out then went home the following morning ….. Put Missus Mickly off ever attempting camping

Taking my elderly Mother to a stamp auction… she was saying how much she’d like to go & that she was still a bit shaky after a recent bump in her car, it was like an out of body experience … I could hear myself offering to take her while thinking ‘WTF you doing??’

Get a beat up GSXR600 & streetfighter it, loads of fun both in the creation & riding like a hooligan. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/187041274793?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=Mu5aTjyUQvS&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=Gup1_ck1RCi&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY

Harley don’t deserve a business
Mickly replied to Mawsley's topic in Clothing, Luggage, Accessories and Security
Should have done a few & flogged them at a profit -
Not to the bike but. Got a free lever operated MX stand when I bought the KTM, never been able to get it to work, always seemed unstable & wouldn’t lift in a straight fashion without tipping over. I took it apart, cleaned it, re shimmed and greased the pivot points, hey presto, works a dream, both wheels off the ground and reasonably stable, quite chuffed.

I don’t think it was the pigeon that did the damage, it was the swerving to avoid it and hitting a parked car that did the damage, which was compounded by an existing medical condition. Still, fair play to her accepting culpability, it seems these days, not matter what’s happened, it’s always someone else’s fault.
