I spoke to an old colleague who drives a Jaguar I-Pace, he was convinced that accelerating hard and then taking his foot of charged his battery, he wouldn’t have it that is a negative net game & and he used to work for them !!
-
Unfortunately the sudden braking is a symptom of the regenerative braking system, when they take their foot off the accelerator the regen system causes the car to slow quickly ( more than a ICE vehicle) without the brake being applied.

She wasn’t as young as she looked when she did that

Even my ancient 2002 F650GS used to throw a hissy fit if the correct start up procedure wasn’t followed ( wait for engine temp light to go out and don’t touch the throttle before hitting the start button )

Worst thing about bloody road works is that they’re mostly not for repairing the road, mostly Utility companies, Council installing road calming measures & cycle lanes, and around here it’s fugging HS2. If I ruled the world, any digging up any part of the road would be forced to resurface the whole of it to a high standard for 1/2 mile each side of the works

Rolled it out of the garage & Oh Billhooks, rear tyre flat. At least it’s in the middle so could be plugged.

I’ve had the 4’s on my Speedtriples, worn them to the edges & good mileage plus predictable handling, love them.

Judging by the hammering sound on the caravan roof, that’ll be me on the way home today.

Last minute tagging trip from Coventry to Newquay Cornwall, 10 hours yesterday ( included 1/2 hour lunch break at Beer & 2 fuel stops ), the satnav took me down some really ‘interesting’ Ianes, at one point the ‘road’ was a very narrow, single track with high banks, over hanging hedges and trees, broken edges, a high mound of mud and gravel in the centre, very steep down hill, very twisty hairpins and into a ford full of rocks, I was sh*tting my self, fcuk knows what would have happened if I’d met someone coming the other way, I was knackered. 4 local tags today about 3.5 hours. Looks like the 8 hour trip home tomorrow will be wet, never mind hey

I’ve done a couple of the Ady Smith Schools as a complete off road novice., they cater for all sorts of abilities. The first thing they get you doing is standing figure of 8’s on a nice flat grassy area, explaining throttle / clutch control, riding position & weighting the foot pegs, everyone has to do this to demonstrate basic bike control, if you already have the skill you’re left on your own going round and round more and more slowly until you grind to a halt and have to take a dab (although I have seen a couple of very skilled people stand stationary on the bike ), if you need help there are spotters who will come to your aid with som 1:1 advice. Once you’ve mastered this it’s onto tackling up and down steep hills, ruts, river crossing, spinning the back wheel etc. It’s a brilliant day, can’t recommend it highly enough.

My MoT tester is obviously unaware of this as my 2002 F650GS has one ( still for sale btw )

Ridden by twats who have no regard to other road/pavement users. Also by those without the skill / intelligence to pass a proper test.
