1. Lifted straight out of the Ichiban Moto manual.
2. My step daughter brought a second hand car 4 months ago. The dealer mentioned that logbooks (V5) will not display the names / addresses of previous owners due to data protection laws. Sure enough, when the log book turned up there was only a statement re: number of previous owners. I reckon this is a huge bonus for unscrupulous dealers to hide a vehicles history. In the past I have asked to look at the V5 and contacted previous owners to ask about the vehicle, if a dealer refused, I walked away - obviously got something to hide.
3. The complete nob who packed my order of 4x62mm (MR011) Ramair foam pod filters for my Trophy project .... 3 fitted and looking good, 4th one wouldn’t fit ... it a smaller filter, an MR008 - gutted, I’ve just had to go through the rigmarole of having a correctly sized one shipped out and then soon there will be the faff of returning the incorrect 1. I was very excited when the parcel arrived, that was all spoiled coz some erk couldn’t be arsed to check that they’d selected the right parts.
4. My mistake I just checked, apparently they are still trading
5. I take photos before I have any work done by someone else, I learned my lesson when I had the fork seals done on my previous Speedtriple by a now defunct independent in Cov, after I picked it up I noticed a couple of deep gouges in the gold coloured anodised parts of the fork uppers, when I complained they just shrugged and said they must of been there when I took it in. This kind of customer service is probably why they are now defunct.
6. Ah, but .... Are all internet cookies the same? (I think not) If they are not, what flavours are they? Has each cookie got its own flavour? What flavour is TMBF cookie? I think we should be told !!
7. Doesn’t work if a tit in a van overtakes and pulls sharp in front of you - I’m not going to slam on the anchors on the motorway ever time ‘just in case ‘
8. Jammy fcuker .. wish I’d got relatives that were that useful Instead of a permanent drain in my time !!
9. Having travelled many miles today on the motorway, I was somewhat perturbed by the many vehicles ( mostly lorries and vans ) who were dumping sheets of frozen snow off their roofs onto the road and anyone following them. Surely this cannot be legal? Having driven through 3 of these sudden events I was grateful I wasn’t on a bike!!
10. You got one for the other foot?
11. The Aldi one I got is shit ... zip broke after 3 months / 2000 miles.
12. Ideal winter hack ( if it goes for sensible money - only 20 hours left ) https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/honda-cbr-600f-k-/333025905180
13. Although it was a very long time ago (1977) so I might be mistaken... I used to have a Saturday job at International Motorcycles in Bromsgrove, and one of my jobs was making up metal number plates with plastic moulded characters and fitting them to new bikes. From what I remember the plates were fixed on with dome headed metal inserts with a spring washer that fitted into a groove in the insert at the back. Of course this might have just been the dealers choice.
14. I found the best way to fit the stand was to tap the LH fitting into place first then offer the stand up to it, this keeps the stand away from the frame and potential scratching. And as goat says, make sure it’s good and tight - if you’re a bit limp wristed use something on the tightening screw to give some mechanical advantage ( not too much though or you’ll crack the welds )
15. B’stards Best check the rest of the bike over for any other hidden damage. Hopefully that’s it !!
16. I use on on my Speed Triple, only problems I’ve had is the LH fitting scratching the frame ( user error ... grrrr ) and the LH fitting being such a snug fit that I have to use grips to remove it. I spoke to the ABBA people at the NEC who said that it has to be snug due to the way it works and are aware that there can be issues with that range, but if I sent it to them they would bring it down and re-anodise it for free - I haven’t bothered. If yours does not fit at all, then a bit of measuring maybe required. Is it one with a cup and centre pin ( as per the Speed Triple )?
17. I had a remould on the back of my GSXR750 - cheap to buy but I’d never do it again - allegedly on a Pirelli carcass but the handling could only be described as ‘odd & inconsistent’ I persevered for a couple of K coz I didn’t want to accept that I was wrong and everyone who’d warned me was right. Eventually I got so nervous about it I wrecked it publicly with a huge burn out, then bought a proper one ( and spent f*cking ages cleaning the molten rubber off the back of the bike ) Do NOT consider remoulds for road use ( maybe if your going drag racing )
18. I used the 3 point paddling technique on small North Devon roads as I got continually lost trying to bag tags. I managed to drop the rear wheel into a ditch on two occasions, luckily brute force and minimal off road experience dug me out of trouble. The lesson learned is don’t automatically assume clumps of foliage are on a firm footing, only reverse on to what is absolutely firm ground!!
19. I got prevented from making lawful progress to the Waterman at Hatton by the Police many many years ago ... There had been much ‘spirited’ riding in the weeks before. I was threatened with arrest for not complying with their directions, almost came close to punching the officious twat (again) things were getting feisty the more of us they stopped, so a few meat wagons turned up, not wanting to see the inside of a one again I f*cked off spraying gravel up the side of the van ( childish I know but deeply satisfying). I think I heard that they stopped the wrong guy ( barrister) who caused them a load of shit and they just stuck to heavily policing all the roads nearby on a Wednesday night until everyone pissed off somewhere else.
20. Should have put some pics in the pit stop section , I would have liked to have seen the insides of a Nerf Blaster . Thought of putting it on the air rifle thread, but thought it would be seen as piss taking... should’ve really!!
21. I seem to alternate between fixing grandkids toys and being my Mums personal DIY and I.T. Fixer. When did I ever find the time to work? Took my grandsons Nerf blaster ( Xmas prezzie) apart as it had jammed - loads of plastic bits and springs etc - bloody nightmare to fix but worth it all to see the smile on his face and the big hug !! I got the same off my Mum for sorting out her sky box. I don’t grumble ( much )

23. As Mike said, J&S Digbeth Also Streetbike Halesowen are good ( little bit out of your way )
24. I had this happen many moons ago on my GSXR750: A nice sweeping LH bend usually taken at about 90mph knee skimming the tarmac. Just once I felt something wasn’t right, and for no reason I could remember slowed to about 40mph and went round pretty much upright...... I was faced with a grain spill about an inch deep. Only just managed to stay upright... dread to think what might have happened if I’d done it as usual, The faeries were truly with me.
25. Always have an escape route in case the unexpected happens.
