  1. Mrs had COVID recently, work said stay home if you're unwell. I was already in the office. My work said stay put unless you feel too unwell to stay. Govt guidance to HR departments is just treat it like any other illness like flu etc. Most people are vaccinated and I don't think we could afford another lockdown.
  2. How do you find the difference between the CBR and the hornet. I've a cbr600f too and contemplating a change. But I'm worried this would be a bit bland.
  3. I saw one of these for the first time today, parked up. I hadn't been a fan of the stock photos online but in all black in person it looked great. Rumours of there being a good chunk of power available with a remap makes it a nice option too. Photo is a bit crap as I was in a rush.
  4. I spend a lot of time in Mayfair. I'd never recommend anyone live here.
  5. Chris van Tulleken Ultra-Processed People: Why Do We All Eat Stuff That Isn’t Food … and Why Can’t We Stop? NHS doctor & researcher about all the weird stuff in food. Interesting read. If you start reading labels you start to see how similar almost all foods are. Doesn't try to dissuade you from eating processed food, just interesting research.
  6. I bought this off Amazon recently. Works well in the car and the bike as the hose is a decent size and the head of the nozzle rotates to make it easier to use.
  7. I had a very similar incident nearly a year ago. The other guy admitted fault within a few days. It's still ongoing as both sets of insurers solicitors try to fleece each other. I kept my bike, didn't put it in storage. I kept the replacement bike for a month then returned it. My insurer didn't seem happy about these decisions. Maybe as these are two things they can charge a fortune for. Somewhere in the insurance industry there is a list of unsettled cases. I've had several calls asking for info on my case. They knew details of the case but are essentially ambulance chasers and became very angry when I refused to transfer the case to them after. If I have to go through this again I'll use external solicitors like white Dalton who are known in the industry. Read every piece of paper and email carefully. I've heard stories of replacement bikes being delivered and the rider signs a lease agreement when they think they are just signing for safe delivery of replacement bike. Some insurers are better than others. mine was very good at some things but lacking in others.
  8. I've ended up buying a Knox urban pro mk3 a few weeks ago. Unfortunately the summer seems to have ended at the same time. I had to go a size up. (I'm normally XL for other brands like rst, Oxford, Dainese, the XL was tight everywhere) 2XL is a good fit, I'm 44 in a suit jacket and 18 in neck. If you have over an 18 inch neck then you'll need a 3XL, the 2XL I bought just about fits. The jacket has a bit of weight to it due to the full level 2 armour but once on it is comfortable and after a minute on the bike you forget it's on. It lets in a ton of air. I use a light windbreaker in the morning commute then just the Knox jacket when it's warm in the evening. Although it can look a bit odd with the collar of my shirt hanging over the top. It is a snug fit by design. My work shirts get a little creased from it but as they are non-iron they are themselves out within an hour. The pockets are ok, the inside pocket for your phone fits my large android phone. Overall I'm quite happy with it as a summer jacket. If Knox did laminated outer jacket I'd probably buy it to use this as the protective layer all year round.
  9. Painting. Currently half way through painting the inside of my house. What a PITA it is. Moving furniture, taping up, cutting in etc etc. Waiting on today's efforts to dry. Everything is piled into rooms we painted last week. But now I'm stuck in a corner surrounded by crap on a laptop trying to work.
  10. Driving on your phone, driving in the middle lane of the motorway for no reason, doing under the speed limit in the "fast" lane. Having to spend time money and inconvenience myself due to kettle scrote thieves. I'm sure I've a ton of road related ones. Workplace managers that micro manage people to make themselves relevant. People that comment online that they have no interest in an article or topic or that it's boring. Why bother commenting or clicking on it???
  11. Depending where you live, finding a suitable time to go and take the theory test can be a pain. There's apps and/or books you can buy to prepare for the theory test. After years of driving she will probably know most of it but some are bike specific questions. She might as well do the full test. Most schools have fairly small and nimble bikes. The place I did mine had lots of honda cb650 and kawi z650 which are both fairly lightweight and nimble. Just have a look around at local training centres and check their social media pages, you'll be able to see what they use then.
  12. I've got a OnePlus 8 pro. Bought it outright from OnePlus. I've had it 3+ years and still going strong. When I bought it, it was higher spec than the top Samsung in UK and a lot cheaper. I've been paying £8 a month for my SIM since. (30GB, unlimited calls, no roaming charges). I like my tech and gadgets but I can't see myself upgrading until this phone dies. There isn't enough of a jump in technology to pay out for another phone and I'm well past the age of anyone I know caring what phone I have.
  13. A lot of companies will allow changes without charges. My own cover allows pretty much everything except turbos and supercharger kits without increasing the premium. Each insurance company will have different things they will allow so you should really give them a call and see if it makes a difference.
  14. I've been using eggz but did consider loop. How do you find they compare?
  15. I've been using eggz almost daily for about a year. Can't fault them keeps the wind noise out but can still hear traffic and exhaust.
  16. My work suit jackets are a 44, must be a 46 with armour
  17. I bought the Knox urban pro mk 3 online. It came today and it doesn't fit me right. Im an XL in my other jackets and it is much smaller. It's supposed to be fitted but it's just too tight. Sports/gym all my life mean I've an 18 inch neck. The neck is choking me. There's none is the local suppliers so I don't know if the XXL will fit or if the necks are larger too.
  18. I'm with AA, I'm the one covered rather than a specific vehicle. Also I can get a relative rescued even if I'm not there. It's breakdown cover though like getting a flat tyre or a dead battery. I was in an accident last year and they said that's not covered and it's £300 to come get me. Fortunately my insurance covered recovery
  19. I don't think I could pull off the double denim look
  20. I'm in the west of Ireland this week. Mid 20s but feels warmer, not a cloud in the sky. Unfortunately my bike is locked up in England (hopefully).
  21. The ventilator is on my short list to try on. Interesting about the liners. My current jacket has vents so will for 90% of the time. Any liner in a mesh jacket won't see light of day
  22. Value for money, this seems to be one of the best options. AA rated and at a good discount as the newest version has just been released. I'll need to go try on a few options to make sure they fit. Hopefully the Knox shirt won't ruin my work shirt.
