    First bike TS50

Welcome to the forum and anything on two wheels and an engine is a biker. You have quite a desirable moped there look after it dont muck about adding daft stuff or tuning it and it will be worth a few quid if you sell it and move on to something else. They are getting quite collectable now. Good luck and enjoy riding it.
  4. Sorry its a no from me Im out, would rather walk than ride that thing. It looks pig ugly.
  5. I can imagine the grin on your face when that key worked, I would of been running around the garage on a celebration lap or two. Well done keep it up.
  6. As its a four stroke it would cost a fortune for hardly any gain as for adding a 70cc kit that would make a little difference but then unless you are 17 you could not legally ride and you would have to notify your insurance of the conversion. It is not worth the hassle just ride it get some experiance and get a 125 at 17 and move on up.
  7. Oh no im hoping he gets a bloody good kicking until the day he dies.
  8. Good luck getting one of those registered for the road there are no lights at all or a horn or rear reflector. You have no functioning brake lights or any form of ignition key. Motorcross bikes are not suitable for the road due to the nature of the engine tune believe me ive been there and done that. If you want that style of bike go for the enduro look probably have to be a 4 stroke or an older 2 stroke though.
  9. My guess would be a Rudge 500 OHV from mid 1920s as it looks like a twin to me.
  10. Looks like a BSA starfire 250 to me.
  11. Tommy Bridewell was lucky he didnt cause a big pile up and got away with just a 3 second penalty, that could of been a whole lot worse.
  12. Ive not seen a bar end like that i presume its just a knock in type fit and forget. Best bet just measure the internal dia of the bars and buy a pair that will fit and you like. Remember on the throttle side make sure ther bar end weight does not interfere with the twist grip.

    Hai!

Welcome to the forum I love the look of the Enfield classic.
  14. Are the wiring looms using the same colour coding have you checked you have connected the wires up correctly. Failing that try and find the wiring diagrams for the two models and compare to see where the differences are and hopefully the new loom can be used on the 125.
  15. You need to get back onto the supplying dealer and tell them what is wrong with it and get them to collect it and fix it. Look up your rights concerning the consumer rights act 2015 so you know what to say if they try to fob you off.
  16. Thats good you are taking someone with you two heads are better than one, I know its exciting getting your first bike but take your time get the right one and you wont regret it. Good luck.
  17. I would want receipts for parts if he claims he has been servicing the bike and also I would knock off the cost of the mud guard as a starting point. Seems like a few things dont add up with mileage and MOT he is either being a bit vague or hiding things. Why dont you just save your money buy a Japanese 125 look after it learn on it, pass your test then sell it on for about what you paid for it. I take it you have seen under the frame sliders to see if it isnt covering damage up already.
  18. It sounds like you have a faulty ignition switch so why dont you remove it and check for cracked/broken contacts and wires first. Possibly the key has worn the switch out, or have you got a spare key to see if that works properly to discount that issue.

    Yes!

Well done rennie congratulations on the new job hope it all goes well.
  20. This was a problem with vaccum taps when they fail they are a pain in the neck. Hopefully a service kit has fixed it but its worth making sure the float valves are seating properly and sealing off. Make sure the airbox drain is clear to and another mod others have done is the vent that comes from the engine enters at the bottom of the airbox remove it block the hole up, then get a longer pipe and drill a suitable hole higher up and fit the vent pipe here. A short cut is remove the pipe all together from the engine and fit a small pancake filter. A sure way to fix the problem is fit a fuel tap that you have to turn on and off and if I remember right the tap off a Suzuki RF600/900 is a straight swap and mounts on the frame fixing.

    Hello

Hi John welcome to the forum.

    Hard clutch

First thing look at the routing of the cable does it follow a smooth coarse with no kinks or sharp bends. Have you removed the cable to see if the inner moves freely, you would be surprised of the difference between an old and new cable. How many miles has the bike done has it had a hard life with abuse to the clutch.
  23. Sounds like the revs are rising but the bike is not gaining speed, could be the clutch is worn out and needs replacing. I take it that the bike has had a big bore kit fitted to make it a 70cc moped, this would put more strain on the clutch if it hasnt been uprated to.
  24. Hi there a little more info may be of help. How old is the scooter, how many miles, when does this situation happen when its cold or hot? what have you checked or replaced so far.
  25. That sounds like "Rommel Gunner who" or "Mussolini his part in my downfall" both are brilliantly funny and sad books but a must read.
