  1. This is for anyone considering booking up something later in the year. I wanted to book an overnight stay end of Octoberish. I went on the hotel website not expecting to have any real difficulty. The hotel currently seems to be prepay no refunds (you can understand why) but it appears everyone is banking on being free by then because this is the bookings page
  2. That’s what they had on Amazon. I’ll have another look.
  3. I consider the police couriers of the law and while I appreciate they do a difficult job I am not in favour on giving them power to be judge n jury. The behaviour of some when enforcing the lockdown rules is more than enough to convince me even minor powers are abused albeit by a minority but even so it’s not something that should be left in their hands.
  4. I thought I’d leave it in the garage for a couple of days for the initial stink to disappear then move it into a spare room - so a week should be long enough then? Basket so far, getting a bit pricey but I’m sure I’ll get plenty of use out of it. Any comments on its contents let me know.
  5. Thanks Do you use the 2500 grit wet or dry?
  6. Great stuff Thankyou. After the 8-10 coats how long should I leave it to harden before sanding? Some folk seem to say a week and some two weeks. Do I build up all the layers and do one final sanding at the end or is there any sanding needed between layers? Just checking this is the stuff? https://www.amazon.co.uk/Farecla-AG3-700-Advanced-Liquid-Compound/dp/B003J10S36/ref=asc_df_B003J10S36/?tag=googshopuk-21&linkCode=df0&hvadid=309775958298&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=11319805664891459722&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9045656&hvtargid=pla-563996089864&psc=1
  7. Thanks. Motorcycle helmet. One vid suggests using a buffing compound n polish at the end?
  8. Happy Birthday Hope you’ve had a good day and gifts included another motorbike
  9. I’ve now watched so many YouTube tutorials and read so much stuff I should be an expert but instead I’ve read so much I’m not sure how to proceed. If you want to lacquer something to a high gloss finish then my understanding is you need to apply it in thin layers and sand inbetween coats but no-one is specific about how this is done so if there’s anyone with any experience I’d appreciate hearing from you. What I’ve generally garnered is “do a double coat, let it dry and sand it gently before applying the next double coat.” What is a double coat? Two coatings approx 15mins apart? and how long would you leave this to dry before sanding and doing the next double coat? and what grade sandpaper or sandpaper’s are needed? Roughly how many double coats will be needed? and is any of that right anyway?! Help!
  10. What channel is this on?
  11. Welcome Sue. Wotcha riding? Or haven’t you got that far yet?
  12. Our garage shares the same roof space as the house, has a double glazed window and the bottom of the garage door has a sealing strip (mainly to stop water ingress and mice) so the coldest it’s ever been out there even when sub zero outside is 13.5 degrees but l’d still like a stove. Just the petrol fumes from the bikes and the lack of ventilation makes me wary.
  13. Nice driver!! Well that’s wot the guy said and as they sell logs for a living I don’t think he was fibbing
  14. Half an hour long but worth watching if you like this sort of thing. One of the slickest filmings of a restoration Ive seen. Chemicals used in abundance but the end result is good.
  15. Blimey our log supplier said there’s a shortage and they can’t deliver at the moment so... could someone tell me how geotags on photos work? I feel a midnight theft maybe coming your way
  16. It can catch you off guard. Two years ago I had 5 dogs, now 3, very shortly (the next day or so Id say) it will be just 2. Each one has upset me greatly, Im not a crier, well almost never but the repeated spontaneous tears when they go becomes unbearable. To the extent I don’t see me getting another dog. This dog was the first of the five and mother of 3 of the others. I don’t think this is going to be easy. If I disappear for a while, that’ll be why.
  17. One of my dogs is on its last legs, well it not even on its legs she’s off them. I’ll shortly be joining you in the miseries
  18. Whoosh as it went over my head. Nevermind Google’s here to babysit.
  19. Good name. I think would miss the solidity and the agricultural feel. Tell me about the lovely looking Thruxton.
  20. Cos the 9T is just a better bike
  21. You’re probably right. The Highway Code applies to all public and private roads including car parks, footpaths, bridleways etc and my driving instructor told me it was illegal to leave your car running on the driveway but that doesn’t sound right?
  22. My kind of father in law!
  23. Maybe something to do with being a woman or just maybe a little something to do with avoiding breaking a different safety law... “windscreens and windows must be kept clean and free of obstructions to vision” Its in a thing called the Highway Code, recommended reading for road users or maybe that’s a bit womany?
  24. She’s right, section 42 Road traffic act 1988 £20 fine. But when I leave mine idling to melt the ice I consider that necessary so I suppose you could say so is drying out your car?!?!
