  1. I have just washed my textile jackets and the armour fitment is confusing. The Akito shoulder armour is arrowed and marked neck (arrow) and left/right. What is odd is it has the narrow part towards the neck, but the HG ones are pear drop shape and have no markings, but the widest part was towards the neck. Does anyone know the correct fitment? PS I tried uploading pics but it keeps failing, something about low memory
  2. My tuppence worth is this: flip up lids are heavy and not very aerodynamic. I have a Nolan flip up, and at 60mph on a naked, (my 500), it nearly takes my head off
  3. Stuff boots full of newspaper and stand them upside down on a radiator. Will dry out in a couple of hours
  4. I'm probably just as bad. I sat on the 600 a week after coming out of hospital after the bowel cancer surgery, just to see if I could, and because I was bored stiff. I raised it up off the side stand, and it felt OK so I thought sod it, I'm going for a bimble, so I piled on the kit and out I went. The bumps on the road jolted me a bit, but overall it was OK. I still had the staples in from the surgery
  5. The old swing arm would not separate from the old shock, as the bolt was well and truly stuck solid from rust
  6. My brother once drove us into somebody's yard, then reversed us into a pond on the way out, even after I had told him the pond was there
  7. Took it out for a bimble. Got fed up of doing nought, so went for it. Just stuck to roads around Northampton, but still almost drained a tankfull. Got back home and cleaned it, then decided to fit the panniers I bought from ebay. Finger now unbuddied from one next to it, no pain as such, but finger still looks odd, and shoulder stood up to the punishment, so looking hopeful to get out on it more
  8. The kind of bike to ride late at night
  9. They are not technically motorcycle ads, they just have a bike in them, so don't count
  10. Is that not negligence by the contractor for not ensuring the road is debris free?
  11. Here's a way to remember. Never LEAN on a HOT engine, you may burn your arse
  12. @bonio can you post a pic of it? I had a Oxford disc lock, not sure the model, but raindrops would set the damn thing off. I binned it in the end, but it would be nice to have a different one
  13. Too many wheels
  14. They probably have a paint code for it
  15. Can you not use a large syringe and a it of tubing and suck the excess up? Hylomar never really sets, so becomes a gel like substance so should be pliable enough. If you need one I have a 60ml spare
  16. Just found that out. The invoices look legit, though how would I know if they weren't. The previous owner did less than 4k a year on it, and according to one I'm looking at now the cam chain tensioner was changed at 40077, same time as fork seals
  17. According to the receipts I have it's called all metal polishing-motorcycles restoration. They have a website so will have a gander
  18. I'm surprised he's got away with it for so long
  19. 4 of 5 years ago I put my 250 in to a local bike dealer to have the front brake caliper serviced/fixed. The slide pin was corroded in solid, so Expected them to drill it out, etc. Instead, when I went to collect it mick berrill said we could not get the caliper apart so we just cleaned it I could have done that myself!!!. In the end I did do it myself
  20. Can you say why rennie? (apart from the obvious)
  21. All metal polishing Durban St
  22. My 600 was regularly serviced by the previous owner at a garage in Kingston upon Hull, and I have all the invoices. One service included a complete fork seal kit, So what did I find when changing the seals myself the other week? One spring upside down, with closer spaced windings at the top, and both spacer washers in one side. No wonder I thought the steering was a bit vague. Anyone else got mechanics bodge up stories?
  23. Put mine into hibernation. Had the booster jab on Saturday, and it has set my shoulder off again, just after getting some movement out of it while doing up the rear end and the forks/brakes. This, along with the broken finger makes riding too painful . I have never spent so long off a bike.
