  1. Three migrants land on a beach. They were; iwazere first, im, and iwazere afterim
  2. Anyone remember the butter mountain, amongst others
  3. As the title states, I now know what is wrong with my left shoulder. Apparently it is called supraspinatus tendonitis. The tendon that runs over the top of the joint runs in a groove can get damaged, and that's what has happened to me. Next step seems to be physio, but they need to get the swelling down first, though how they will do that, I've no idea as I'm already taking anti inflammatory drugs but they have no affect on swelling or pain. So another six months or more before it's sorted
  4. Do we get a discount if we mention the forum?
  5. My boots and gloves are goretex lined, and are pretty good at keeping me dry in all but the most horrendous downpour, and that's usually due to water dripping from jacket or trousers into them
  6. It's not just HD though, fastbob, even most custom builds in USA have minute tanks. What was it HC rode over there in his road trip programme? He had to keep stopping to fill that up. On a side note, I loved it when he visited where Clint had been mayor. No fast food joints or Costa's etc. What the yanks gonna eat?
  7. Do I see a new tag game emerging---find that layby
  8. 1978, me on a 125 doing my test. Examiner takes me out of the office, then the car park. He stands at the side of the road, literally in front of the test centre, and tells me to ride off and go round the first roundabout, which is maybe 100 yards from us, go past him to the next roundabout, and go back towards him then do it all again, and at some point he would step to the kerb and hold out his clipboard, and at that time I should come to a controlled stop without stalling the bike. That was it, took all of ten minutes
  9. I used to have to go over two sets of cattle grids on the way to work. They are damn treacherous things in the wet
  10. Why do HD use such small tanks? I get 200 miles on a tank before hitting reserve, which is good for 25 miles or so. I would hate having to plan trips around fuel stations
  11. Snake pass is closing tomorrow for two weeks to be repaired. No bikes will be allowed through
  12. Note to myself, Never buy a Harley
  13. I'm with Fish. I use HG textiles, and if it really chucks it down I stick either a one piece oversuit on or a pair of walkers overtrousers and jacket on. They are only meant to be showerproof, but they keep your bike gear dry, and they are easier to dry out afterwards. For boots I have only ever had one truly waterproof pair, and they were called derryboots
  14. That's deliberate
  15. The only charity I regularly donate to is the air ambulance
  16. Idiots that drive at night with no lights on. Surely they can see the road is dark in front of them?
  17. I had to come up with a new set-up on a roll forming mc. A new client wanted a narrower joist with a larger radius on a turn-over, which gives the joist rigidity, and a lower dimension to the side wall. I worked it all out, using the steel dimensions for our standard set-up, adjusting them to create the correct job specs. I then had a set of spacers made that allowed all the formers to be adjusted without having to measure every one reducing setting time. I showed the results to the shop forman, who looked at my work and said it was wrong and I need to go back to the drawing board. All I said to him was think of where the datum point is, and walked off before he could reply. The fist trial run I did the job came out bang on, but the forman was conspicuous by his absence
  18. I used to work near two schools, but my hours meant I missed all the stupidity of rush hour and school run until I got called in as emergency cover to set the machines. All the usual numpties were out, dropping their little darlings off, double parking, etc but the most stupidest thing was the woman in a Chelsea tractor that I had the misfortune of being stuck behind just stopped in the line of moving traffic and three doors opened and a bunch of kids got out. There was no attempt at moving over and parking, or even use of mirrors, and if had not been paying attention I would have hit the one that ran behind the car to cross the road to the school- she had just stopped directly opposite the school gate. School run parking/drop off issue is so bad where I live we now have resident parking only zones, still does not stop them parking outside, normally with diesel engine still running any time after 14.30
  19. Ah, but can you play the harmonica?
  20. I thought there was a 300 cc or33 bhp limit to contend with before stepping up to a bigger bike, like the bhp restriction on say my 500, you had to be restricted for 2 years and have a certificate to show bike is throttled. I was under the impression you could no longer jump to a 650, etc, after passing mod 2, but had to endure more tests to rise up the cc size
  21. Are you not restricted to the new rules for bikes, so would not be allowed on a 650cc after mod 2 anyway? Is there not a 3 tier set-up to get to a big bike now?
  22. I have an unintentional project in the form of my cb500r that bust a conrod, so bike is currently in bits in my garage/lock-up waiting to be rebuilt but I'm not able to start on it until my shoulder is fixed. I got used stuff from the cb500 forum and from ebay, plus the thunder sprint guys
