  1. Hi fastbob, you're right, all their leather stuff comes from Pakistan. I worked there for a while and had to help unload the lorries. If stuff gets returned to any of the stores it all gets sent to Finedon for repair/alteration, and there is boxes of stuff waiting rework, there is even a load of helmets. Frank Thomas did have a small unit on a industrial estate, can't remember where, that Frank's daughter ran, and her and I think her mum did alterations to FT gear. Not sure if they are still in business, cos J&S own the name now so it all gets sent to Finedon. Years ago we had a family run business called Dobbs Leathers, and they were brilliant at after sales care, etc and would have been perfect for me if still around
  2. I know about J&S, they do some alteration work, but they only have 2 girls for repairs and they are inundated with work
  3. Hi bender, I thought about having a panel put in the HGs, but need to find a decent alterations place. The HGs are too expensive to just leave them. PS. I ot back on the bike about a week after leaving hospital. As soon as I could get it the sidestand that was it, though it hurt like hell on potholes, but it was easier than now trying to ride with a injured shoulder
  4. Having had bowel cancer and losing my large bowel I now have to use a colostomy bag. I am now finding it hard to get into my bike leathers due to said bag. My HG leathers are the right waist size, but they squash the bag, which sits in the abdomen area. Anyone else on here have a bag, and if so have you found leathers to accommodate the bag or another way around it? I appreciate this being a personal thing that you may not want to share on a forum so please PM me if you prefer. PS, I am OK with textiles, but do not want to have to use them all the time
  5. What I don't get is why the guy decided he needed to do it in the first place. Yes, I overtook him, (I assume) and others in a slow moving line of traffic, but that is what the crawler lane was meant for. I did not cut him up or impede him in any way, I was more then a door's width away when passing.
  6. Like I said, I lost it. What he did to me to start with was bad enough, but to then deliberately block me from passing him and leaving him behind to his own devices was the reason I returned the favour. He had cut in front of me and braked at less than a cars length away, So I could have ended up in the back of him, if I had not got Abs brakes. My original overtake of a queue of cars was clean and legal, accept for the speed, and at no point in the overtake did I cause him or anyone else any issues. I moved back into the nearside/left lane way before the slow lane ended, and the road was clear of traffic in front for a good length of a football pitch, so he could have passed me and moved over without issue, instead, he chose to cut in dangerously close. To then prevent me from passing twice, and leaving the the twat behind was the last straw, we were now on a duel carriageway and my lane was moving faster than his, so my passing him was legit, so when the opportunity arose I gave him a taste of what he had done to me. I then moved over into the left lane, ready to take the exit, when he then twice tried to force me off the carriageway altogether, but the gap was not big enough for him to get his car in and my exit was just ahead so I peeled off, leaving him on the carriageway
  7. I wish I had my camera on when an idiot cut in front of me just past the end of a slow running lane on the A6. I overtook a queue of cars but pulled back in well clear of anyone, then this twat dives in front and brakes, causing me to slam on the anchors (thank god for abs). I followed him towards Kettering, and when I tried to get in front of him he moved over and blocked me, twice. I saw red, and managed to undertake him and shot in front and braked hard, then accelerated away, only for him to try and run me into the left lane, but there was not enough of a gap to get alongside me There was absolutely no need for his antics in the first place, unless he just did not like being overtaken
  8. I'm in the doghouse. The better half was getting ready to go out. She stood in the doorway, twirled round and said "does my bum look big in this"? All I said was "to be fair your bum would look big in an aircraft hangar"
  9. Wynns dry is the stuff I was on about, but I've never seen it on sale anywhere
  10. I have a lot of 35mm stuff, Al canon, but as it's film it's not worth anything now so would be hard to sell to upgrade to digital. I also used to develop my own film, unless it was for slides, but no longer have the kit or place to do it and I'm not sure shops still do it
  11. I nearly did that with my phone. I was fitting a new battery, and the old has to be removed via a sticky tape attachment which tore, so I used the plastic device that's used to take the back off to pry the battery out. The corner of the battery cover ripped and the battery went up like a distress flare. I managed to drop the phone in the sink and turned the tap on, which put out the fire but destroyed the phone
  12. The risk from e10 fuel is quicker rottening of fuel lines and water absorbtion (its hydroscopic). Regular checks of hoses, along with an In line filter will help those matters. Obviously if you have FI most lines are metal so no issues there. I have heard of an additive that attracts the water so it burns it off in the cylinders, but whet you get it from I haven't a clue
  13. That wasp shot is almost as good as I could get with my Canon a1 and macro lens
  14. While I can get it I'm using the 97 octane unleaded as that is remaining as e5. Ethanol is hydroscopic, so will attract water to it, so if using e10 and sorning your bike for winter make sure you drain your tank
  15. A bit late to this topic, but I have a HID Light on my Cbf600sa8, and my bike has just passed its MOT. When I bought the unit I deliberately looked for one designed to replace the OEM halogen. I have had no issues with being flashed at night by oncoming vehicles, but the light has certainly made a difference to being able to see the road ahead
  16. Fixed two more punctures in the rear tyre. Had a couple of scary moments on the way home, mostly when leaning to the right. Cleaned bike when I got home and could hear a bubbling sound when running engine to dry it out, turned out to be air escaping onto the wet tarmac. Dug a nasty horseshoe shaped piece of metal out of the tread, so out came the plugger. fixed that, then discovered it was leaking from previous plug so out came the slime. In goes the slime, run engine in gear to spread around tyre and pump up. thought all was fine until a slow inspection of all the tyre. found a very small leak in one of the sipes groove, not sure what caused that but there was nought stuck in it, but slime would not seal it so had to plug that as well. three punctures in one tyre in less than a week!! what are the odds?!!! PS on way home tractors had left the road plastered in mud and what looked like diesel. no warning signs put out, and it was on a fast stretch where I can get a move on, so its a good job I came home in daylight
  17. Plugged a puncture in the rear tyre. Rode to work on a skittish bike so decided to check pressures. 12psi in rear. found a thin piece of wire right in the centre tread have now got frozen mud to contend with on the commute to work. Farmers should be made legally responsible for clearing up the crap they leave on the road because its bloody dangerous. A tractor came past going the opposite way tonight towing a slurry tank, and that left fresh mud and cow shit all over the road
  18. Try this. https://www.motorcyclespareparts.eu/en/honda-parts/honda-color-codes
  19. depends which side panel you are looking for. If its the one holding the indicator then you may struggle, though there is a RH one on ebay. the other panels are readily available
  20. Sorry, hit wrong button. (hit like not quote) Did they do that because you were off ill? if so you are better off out of it
  21. When I fitted the road 4's to mine I contacted Michelin for info on the correct tyre pressure. They in turn contacted Honda, who replied "tyre pressures are chosen for the weight of the bike, so recommend using the same pressures as OEM tyres" Mine are 36 front and 42 reasr
