  1. I hope there is some bog roll left when I reach the loo
  2. No, unfortunately
  3. Not personally, only that they park in the same place every morning, and must get there really early. I don't work on Fridays as I do a 10 hour day, but I am going in tomorrow just to see him as I think he is in doing maintenance to the machines. if he had come and spoke to me to apologise or even offer to pay for the damage I may have let him off with the cost of getting the dent out as I would have took the tank off myself to get it done. I want it blown back out if possible, though with the way its' damaged that may not be possible - there is a sharp centre to the dent from a car door edge, so its not just dished, and I am not settling for it being filled and painted, it will mean a new tank I have pics but no site to host them so can't upload them here
  4. leaving work tonight, get to my bike in the car park and some one has opened their car door and put a big dent in my tank, and didn't have the balls to come and tell me or apologise. its' now going to cost them dear to fix it and there is no way they did not know they had done it, as it is a sizeable dent that shows up 30-40 metres away. they have seriously pissed me off, so I am looking for payback
  5. an old racing driver has died last week. Lauder? AN OLD RACING DRIVER DIED LAST WEEK
  6. the piers morgan slapathon attracted a good crowd
  7. that's his back up commuter if the other one breaks down
  8. cats in exhausts, dogs in gears
  9. I saw a nun copulating a clown. I thought it was virgin on the rediculous
  10. slipping into 3rd gear without resistance is not a sign of sticking clutch plates. if they were sticking it would be slightly harder to change gear. it's more likely you have a worn selector or groove that it slots into.
  11. now you can take Bumble for a bimble
  12. In the late 70's early 80's I use to help out a motorcycle dealer go and collect breakdowns when he was on a police rota. they had a list of people to call out to collect bikes that had been involved in crashes. One particular time we got a callout in the early hours of the morning to go and collect a 1000 cc Suzuki that had thrown its rider, near a pub called the worlds end, just outside Northampton. The bike was laying on its side on a grass verge, and there were police, fire brigade and an ambulance in attendance. when we lifted the bike up to get it on the ramp and in the van we could not see any damage to it apart from a broken plastic cowl just beyond the end of the seat. IF YOU DON'T WANT TO KNOW THE REST STOP READING NOW!!!!!! we asked the policeman at the scene why all the services were there for a simple off. it turns out the chap was pushing it a bit and lost it on a left hander by the pub and was thrown off onto the other side of the road into the path of a motorhome, which could not avoid him and ran over his neck and separated it from the rest of his body, and his colleague had ended up with the task of retrieving the helmet from beneath the motorhome. The bike sat in the workshop for just over a week before the owners family turned up. They spoke to Tony, (shop owner) and me about the bike, and told Tony he could do what he wanted to with it, as they did not want it or reminding what had happened to their son by having it in their possession. what I could never understand was why there was no damage as such to the bike. If you get thrown off at speed the bike is going to keep going until it runs out of momentum, and would normally end up with damage fairings or busted crankcase covers, but this was just laying on a grass verge like it had just fallen over, and from what I could gather no one had moved it to there.
  13. I was a race marshal for 15 years, 9 of them as chief marshal, and I trained as a first responder with the Warwickshire ambulance service. if the injured person was in a car someone had to be behind the driver to support the neck so the helmet could be removed, but now with the HANS device that is not practical. In karting, if someone was injured you had to hold the head still while a backboard was placed between the seat and driver and you then lifted the driver up out of the seat onto the board. I came up with the technique of lifting the kart up by the front wheels until the seat is horizontal, place the board behind the driver and slide the driver out. it reduced the chance of injury to the neck and meant you were not burdened by deadweight. some modern helmets have pads that can be removed in an emergency, so the helmet can be removed easier because you do not have to pull it apart to clear the ears with the cheek pads
  14. If Fastbob's cat got at it it would be a duck filled fatty puss
  15. I have a heavy lock and chain that sits just inside my front door. It's not just for locking the bike up, the chain extends my reach by 1.5 metres.
  16. Nob of the day goes to the woman in a red hatchback that seemed oblivious to the ambulance that was behind her, even though it had its lights and sirens going. we were in a average speed camera zone, which was two lanes wide so she could quite easily have moved over into the left lane and let the ambulance past, instead she just sat there. ambulance had to undertake her to get past
  17. I stopped biking in 1987 due to a small family and the need of a car to get around. fast forward 5 years and I was no longer with the other half due to her infidelity and having moved out I decided I did not need a car just for me so I bought a bike. it was only a cb250rs, absolutely crap through town but brilliant on the open road, anyway I found I had not lost the ability to ride like I used to, as if I had never been off a bike
  18. I like it
  19. Holy smoke! I would have hunted that dog down and punted it into the middle of next week I did look for it as soon as I got up after coming off, as I saw where it had run to but could not find it
  20. I wrecked a motorbike once by hitting a dog that ran out in front of me too close for me to stop. I was doing less than 30mph yet it was like hitting a brick wall, though the dog ran off without a murmur Same as you, I had not made a payment on it but it was a write off. front forks bent so far back the wheel was wedged between the downpipes, tank was dented and scratched, handlebars were bent, headlight smashed. the bike somersaulted over and over two or three times after throwing me off, hence the amount of damage.
  21. nob of the day was the idiot in a modified hatchback that pulled up at a set of lights at a roundabout in kettering, on my left. kept revving engine and creeping forward until most of his car was over the white line, even though lights were on red, and I was thinking keep going and get flashed by the red light cameras. lights start to change, and as soon as amber appears nob floors the pedal causing his tyres to squeal as he moves of. I waited till lights hit green, checked nothing was going to run a red light coming from my right, then let the clutch out. left nob in my wake and waved at him as I passed
  22. I made my own anchor from plate steel and some tubing some years ago. the local wildlife decided to try and nick my bike, but all they managed to do was twist the chain round and round, which tightened it up onto the tyre and rim, buggering up the wheel in the process but they did not get the bike
  23. could be redex in the fuel. my fuel goes that colour when I add redex to it
  24. yep. tried everything apart from stripping. to be honest I just want it running so I can sell it as such, rather than as spares
  25. I have a 1980 cb125t that I bought to take the cbt and mod 1+2 due to a balls up by DVLA (lost motorcycle entitlement off my licence after a change of details) bike turned out to be a bit of a dog when I got it home and started to check it out - it was missing the rubber manifolds between airbox and carbs, timing was one cog out so valves bent, barrel was scored so burning oil, indicators were so bad it was hard to tell if they were working. managed to get it working enough to do mods, choking the assessor in the process but got a pass. since pass bike has sat unused in my garage while I went back to my cb500, but I decided to strip 125 and rebuild it with the view of selling it to someone who would appreciate it more. So, New barrel. New valves, guides, seals, pistons. New points. Carb rubbers made from 40mm car water hose. Carbs stripped and cleaned. Once bike was done and put back together it ran lovely, so I turned ignition off so I could unlock bike from its ground anchor to take it outside for a run. As soon as I got it outside it absolutely refused to run. I had fuel, spark,(good one) timing was right, points gap was right, valve clearance was right.??????? Ended up fitting new coils, plug caps, condenser, and made a temporary fuel tank and after a awful lot of messing about with the throttle stop screws the bike is now running properly buy now I have a new issue. the clutch plates are stuck together so cannot disengage drive to put bike in gear while stationary. So, anyone on here know how to unstick the plates without having to strip clutch? I have tried pushing bike while in gear, running engine while on centre stand and dropping bike in gear, tapping housing with a mallet, but nowt has worked. ????
