1. On my phone I’ve just hit reply to topic then at the bottom of the text box there is an add files button. That brings up either take photo or from library option
2. Which can be done on the road, whilst enjoying a ride. Its not uncommon and often why cyclists ride horse riders and people walk 2 abreast so they can enjoy the company and an activity. Your mileage may differ, some enjoy music chat when they are riding others don't. This post was meant for those that would like, have use and know the limitations of intercom units. its a distraction .. Wind noise droning in your ears, even with ear plugs is a distraction. After listening to music while on the bike for the last 5 years I wouldn’t say it’s distracting. Just the same as listening in the car. Being able to hear the sat nav when I use it is safer than only using it visually. Being able to communicate with mates on ride can make it a better experience for a whole host of reasons. Personally I leave the chatting to when we stop.
3. historically I would of agreed however, I just picked up a pair of Avon storm XM’s for the price of a rear PR4 So far i am impressed wet and dry, 1 and 2 up. Not had really spirited ride yet and have only done about 500 miles. Good to hear you rate the tyres. Wait until the warmer weather
4. I have the Sena 20s for me and the wife and never had any problems connecting. I used to connect to a mate’s 20s evo with the occasional drop out until he got rid. He did have issues with his. After owning it for a while the clarity of the phone calls deteriorated dramatically. It used to be crystal clear. Now the sound coming from the speakers is very muffled to the point I have to ask people to repeat themselves. However, since the purchase of my new AGV lid I bought the AGV ARK comms unit which is made by Sena it’s clear again. I have wondered whether it’s something to do with a previous update on the 20s? A cool thing that the ARK does that the 20s doesn’t is that I can utilise Siri to make phone calls. I think this is great because I could only store 3 numbers in the 20s as a speed dial. Now all my contacts are available. I like that. I’ve not connected it to another unit yet.
5. Bridgestone’s are renowned for what you are experiencing. Do a Google search and you’ll find info on it. I hate Bridgestone’s and haven’t put them on any bike since 2008. They tram like mad which doesn’t lead to confidence in the front. Tramming means any little groove, crack, over-banding or uneven parts of the road surface and the front will follow it, taking you off course. I didn’t realise how bad this was happening until I changed to a different brand (Michelin). The first couple of hundred miles I used to tense up automatically when going over bad road surfaces with the new Michelin’s on. Until I realised the tyre was ignoring the grooves. Everyone is different, but I don’t rate Bridgestone’s and I know a lot of others don’t either.
6. Pull the clutch in As soon as it disengages snap the throttle back so the revs increase rapidly but as soon as the revs come up close the throttle. As soon as the revs hit the peak change down and release the clutch smoothly. So Clutch in Rev/change gear Clutch out smoothly It may sound loud at first but it’s not. It may be jerky at first so adjust the clutch control. Just practice to build the muscle memory. Once you master the technique you will be able to do it while braking all the way to 1st
7. Sorry but I disagree! We don't know how old the filter is for a start it could be a few thousand miles old The filter is supposed to be replaced at 600, then 11,000 miles or every 36 months with an oil change at 600, 4000, 7500, 11,000 and 14,500 30 000 miles on the clock. I would have changed the filter too. I’m sure you would have done it too Stu if it was your bike
8. Congrats on your new bike. You said you are no expert so just wondered...... You did change the oil filter at the same time you did the oil right? If not then you wasted your money on the oil you just put in. You also need a use new crush washer every time you you take the oil drain bolt out.
9. I’m on my 2nd flip up. I’ve just replaced the Shoei Neotec with an AGV sport modular. Again, a lot easier to get on and off than and full face when the chin guard is up. The best thing I like about the flip ups is in the summer time, when it’s bloody hot, and you can lift the chin guard up in the 30, 40 & 50 mph zones and get some lovely fresh cooler air in your face. Definitely helps to cool you down. Much more convenient than the full face lids. Can keep them on in the shops and as said, you can have a drink and keep it on if you like.
10. Looks nice that bonio. Nothing beats that new bike feeling!
11. First impressions of the new lid.... Looks very nice in the flesh. IT’S VERY LIGHT! It felt very alien when I first put it on. With it being a flip up I always open my Neotec as it’s so much easier to get on and off. Same with the new one. The part of the AGV lid that covers your face with the lid up is less than the Shoei and it felt really weird. All the catches etc have a good clunk to them and feel well made. Although in a weird way the lid feels a little cheaper than the Shoei. It creaks a lot when pulling the straps apart to get the lid on and off. Don’t get me wrong you can feel the quality of the lid, it just feels a different kind. I love the way they have designed how the visor comes off. The easiest I’ve experienced. There is just a little pull down tab and it just pops off the hinge. WOW! The pinlock is great and covers about 97% of the visor. The field of vision of this lid is the best I have come across too. Your normal peripheral vision is in no way obscured. The internal shape is different from the Shoei but it actually fits me better. Better than any other lid I’ve owned actually. I sat with it on for a couple of hours while I played on the PS4 and had no issues, although at first I could feel a couple of slight pressure points. It’s very snug in al the right places. I usually get a sore right ear with every lid I’ve owned after a full day of riding. I don’t think this will happen with this one. I also like where they have positioned the lever for the internal sun visor. It’s underneath and in the rim of the lid. Very clever! One thing I don’t like at the minute and I think it’s going to take a bit of getting used to is the position of the chin strap when done up. It’s more like a neck strap! The angle is very strange and I keep having to pull it forward! I’ve just got the integrated comms system to go with the lid. I was going to put my Sena 20s on it but thought it would spoil the lines. It’s the AGV ARK system and is built by Sena so I know it will be good. Could have a duo pack of Sena 20s’ up for sale soon... Will hopefully be going for a ride on Friday so will update.
12. What colour scheme did you go for? Just looked it up and looks very aggressive
13. Well spotted. It’s their spin off brand... S-Westerly I agree 100% I’m hoping it will fit. There are return options available to me if it doesn’t. My hopes are high if The GOAT has owned a Neotec in the past and the AGV fits him. I’ve owned 4 brands over the years and the lid I owned first didn’t actually fit me even though I received help from the shop assistant. It was a Shark S800 and dug into my forehead something rotten. Used to give me headaches. I was green at the time and just lived with it until I started reading up on how a lid should fit and feel. Bender maybe The GOAT is in a better position to give a ride report at the minute. Once I’ve used it anger I will stick a report up. Maybe good to get a couple of opinions on it?
14. Excellent. It should arrive tomorrow and the weather is looking good for Thursday and Friday at the minute. I’ll just wear it in the house for an hour and see if the fit is good. Cheers for the feedback
15. I have just discovered I have cataracts and will be having lens replacement surgery sometime early November. You won’t regret it. Think mine worked out at about £1.50 ish a pair for multi focal contacts. Well worth it for no hassle vision on the bike. Also when you don’t fancy wearing glasses on any given day or occasion. EDIT: The first few times you put them in and take them will be horrible. Takes a bit of getting used to but once the muscle memory kicks in it’s a doddle. I ended up ignoring the advice I was given at Vision Express and devised my own way of putting them in and taking out. I can now pop them in/out with one hand. Don’t be disheartened just persevere. It took me bloody ages to get them in the first time at home and I wasted two pairs. Glad they do the free replacements
16. Cheers guys. The GOAT Nice one! I read that it comes in at 1300oz. Over 200 less than my current lid. What it’s like on the noise levels compared to the Neotec?
17. Yeah I tried the Muc off stuff. Didn’t work for me. I ride for pleasure and mostly only wear contacts when I ride. I have dry eyes and never had a problem with contacts. Never had vibrating eyes either. Another reason I have just remembered why I hate wearing glasses under my lid is that the rims obscure my vision when observing at junctions and doing life savers. Defo give the contacts a try. Vision Express do a monthly subscription that is very good. You can even order online once you have your prescription which can work out pretty good. I use daily throw away’s but as you say, not for much longer. Can’t bloody wait!
18. Seeing as my current lid is coming up to 5 years old and having a wad of B Day money I decided to pull the trigger. My current lid is a Shoei Neotec in White. Brilliant lid if a little on the heavy side. My previous lid was an HJC RPHA10 and was light. I have been looking for over a year now but nothing seemed to fit the bill flip up wise. Don’t want a full face as you melt in summer on the urban roads. Looked at the Neotec 2 but that was even heavier than the original which is no good as my lid starts to play my neck up after a few hours. Looked at the HJC flip up, but read some bad reviews of it being very noisy. Anyway, I settled in this AGV carbon.
19. I tried everything to stop my glasses steaming up in the past. I found it impossible. I have worn contact lenses for around 5 years now. Much better. It’s just too dangerous when your specs steam up.
20. Does anybody actually live in Spain? Good post again
21. My head hurts Alcohol doesn’t agree with me anymore. Wish I was 18 and not 50. I could drink all night and not have a hangover.
22. Thanks for all the Birthday wishes guys. Been a quiet one. I’m still shielding so didn’t want to go anywhere really. Wife asked if I wanted to go out for something to eat, but I didn’t fancy it. Did have a big party planned for Sat but obviously that was cancelled a few months ago. Hey ho. Gonna crack the JD open very soon
23. I’ve had one of these for a while now. Great value for money. Strap it on the back seat sideways and away you go You can get bigger if needed. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/264743708496
