1. Back in 2006 I had a 2002 model. The CCT went so I replaced myself and the down pipes rusted through (as they where plain old steel then). So they were changed to a stainless set. All big bikes nowadays, as far as I know are made with stainless down pipes. I owned her for 4 years and they were the only two issues I had. Was a great bike.
2. Marquez Quartararo Dovi
3. My winter/autumn/spring gloves have material on the index finger so I can use the phone if I wish. The are Rukka Imatra. My summer gloves are thin enough that I can use the phone sometimes. They are a bit hit and miss. My phone is connected to my Sena 20S so the only time I would take my phone out is when I’m stopped and I want to take a photo or use messenger, FB or WhatsApp. My gloves would be off and in my top box then. Just do a google search for motorbike compatible gloves for phones or something like that. I’m sure they are out there and cheaper than the Rukka ones. Look on SportsBikeShop also. Use the filter to narrow it down.
4. They reckon this move will save thousands of lives every year. Will they do a u turn after a couple of years when they realise speed isn’t the main issue? It’s muppets that can’t actually drive, and can’t pay attention, or are glued to their phones. Why not have a mobile phone blocking device fitted to all vehicles instead of cutting the speed?
5. CoPilotGPS I used it to get me around and back from Germany (with the downloaded maps) I think the UK is free. I had no problems at all with it. I have a dedicated Sat Nav now, but I still have it installed on my iPhone and use it occasionally. I think it’s one of the best for phones. https://copilotgps.com/en-gb/
6. I’ve been past loads of plod over the two years and been fine. Like I say. I’ve never turned them off from day one. Even filtered past a police car the other day. You’ll be absolutely fine.
7. How about taking it to your local dealer to sell it for you?
8. There is a simple reason why doing fog lights without fog is forbidden - people got distracted/blinded and they crash. In you. What can go wrong if car hits motorcycle? If you have the lights for "safety" reason that completely defies the purpose of having them. Just saying. Good luck. You didn’t read my post correctly. My ‘fog lights’ are not set up at the same angle as my main beam. In fact no front fog lights whether car or bike are set up to do the job of main beam. They will never blind on coming drivers. Have you ever tried driving in thick fog with main beam on? It makes your vision worse. Fog lights keep the light low and wide.
9. Look at the gloves on www.sportsbikeshop.com look at the size guide for the gloves you like and it’ll tell you how to measure to get the right fit. Some you measure the palm, some you measure around the hand. You could also give them a call and ask for their expert advise. They will be more than happy to help. As long as you keep the tags on their returns policy is excellent so you won’t have to worry about sending ill fitting gloves back until you find the right pair. Just bare in mind that just like anything else clothing related the fit can change from brand to brand. This includes the length on the digits. Happy browsing
10. I had the ‘fog lights’ dealer fitted to my Versys 1000GT and all ready and waiting for me when I picked her up new two years ago. Dealer ran through all the switches as is their legal requirement before I rode off. “This is the fog lights on/off switch” It’s stayed on from the moment I rode away. I’ve only ever had a few cars in those two years flash me and gesticulate towards them. I presume it’s towards the fogs, and also presume at that moment in time the angle of the road and the twilight zone’s light refractor had bounced the whole of the known universe’s light into their eyes by the way they were carrying on. They were obviously set up correctly by the dealer to be at an acceptable level so as not to be that of a full beam, but to give me plenty of light when riding in the dark. Due to the couple of over reactions from those car drivers I’m guessing they are doing their job in daylight and giving me that bit of added visibility.
11. Seems odd. Like wear a suit over it then when you get to work take the base layer off and put the suit in again? I wouldn’t contemplate owning one if I had a leather suit going over the top. I would if I were an urban rider and wanted to have cool clothes like a pair of jeans and a hoodie etc.
12. No matter how many times they change the rules and mess about with the formula over the weekend to please the fans and make for closer racing, every now and again you end up with the perfect combination of rider and machine that just blitzes everyone. It just shows how good a racer Bautista really is. It also shows how big a gap there is between the talent in WSBK and MotoGP.
13. Keep the guy behind you in your mirrors.
14. From his performance in the last meet I’m gonna go with Bautista.
15. Luckily no one was twatted with his seat! I thought he should have received a 1 point penalty on his license for that dodgy move.
16. I used to watch both versions with my Dad. Used to love them.
17. https://www.motorcyclenews.com/sport/motogp/2019/march/motogp-qatar-result-to-be-decided-in-court/ Controversy already
18. Willy Woods confirmed for GOG
19. Or Australian dirt tracks with Stoner
20. Just read the small print with MCE breakdown cover Gerontious I’ve only use MCE once and that was when I came back to biking in 2014. They were by far the cheapest. The breakdown cover stipulated the you would be recovered to 10 miles from where they picked you up! Not worth the paper it’s written on. Now they may have changed their policy over the years, but I doubt it. Also Stu took them to the Ombudsman iirc because they were just plain shit. Try Principle Insurance I have bounced between them and Hastings Direct over the last few years.
21. I’ve had a gear indicator on my last two bikes. In my opinion they do help. It’s one less thing to think about which leaves you to get on with concentrating on other things. I don’t use it all the time, but since using one I’d rather have it than not.
22. The bike will naturally stand up as you are transferring weight from the rear to the front wheel. You can counteract the bikes tendency to drift wide in this situation by adding more counter steer. Go out and practice it. Get it into a bend and lightly use the front brake until you feel the bike going wide. Then add more counter steer. You’ll tighten back up. Practice with differing pressures of front brake. It’s a good skill to get good at
23. I’ve had the Rider 410 premium for a few years now. It’s a good bit of kit. I’ve used it in the car good few times and on the bike a lot. It can be a bit slow a buggy occasionally. I have to resort to turning it off and on again. Also if it’s been sat in the draw for any length of time without getting regular updates it can freeze and not connect to MyDrive. Those are just minor niggles though.
24. It’s going to be a very interesting season. The 3 race format is definitely good for the fans. I recieved an email from either MCN or the WSBK website last year asking me to fill a survey in. One of the questions was something about changing the format and it gave a few options. I actually chose the 3 race weekend. I guess a lot more people chose the same
