1. Some of the old ones are the best....(or worst). A guy went into a French seafood restaurant and asked to see the dishes of the day. The waiter wheeled over a trolley with a large tank full of various species, and the man examined the dishes. "I'll have the little green squid with the hairy lip, please" said the man. "An excellent choice, they have a delicate, mild flavour." replied the waiter and called out "Gervais!" A little French chef appeared with a large knife, the waiter instructed the chef to kill the little green squid with the hairy lip. Gervais was just about to slice at the poor squid when he noticed a tear running down its face. Gervais is touched, and admitted that he hadn't the heart to kill the squid. "Not to worry" says the waiter, and called out "Hans!!" at which an enormous German bloke came out of the kitchen. "Sir", said the waiter, "This is Hans, the dishwasher. Hans kill that little green squid with the hairy lip!" The dishwasher wielded a huge rolling pin and was just about to bludgeon the little green squid with the hairy lip when it cringed back and gave a little cry. "I am sorry sir, I just cannot kill the squid" Hans admitted, his lower lip trembling. "Well sir," said the waiter, "it just shows......That.. Hans that do dishes, can be soft as Gervais, with mild green, hairy lip squid!"
2. I watched the first 10 minutes and it looks good stuff. Will watch the rest on the TV later.
3. It's a good job we're all different in our buying tastes, it's that diversity that keeps the motorcycle industry going and making the competition between them strong. Enjoy your Africa Twin Gerontious and I hope you rack up many good enjoyable miles on it.
4. Nice one Gerontious, myself as a Honda owner, I can't fault their engineering, their pedigree speaks volume for it. My only gripe with Honda is that their designs are looking a bit bland compared to other makes, I'm thinking Yamaha, Suzuki and Triumph who seem to pull out a great looking well designed good seller on a regular basis. Looking at Honda bikes recently doesn't really inspire me to buy another one at the moment. If I were to do an upgrade in the near future, I would seriously be looking at the Yamaha Tracer 900GT, great looking bike and decent spec for the money.

6. I think they're calling you an Ah So fastbob?
7. That will be interesting. If he's anywhere near as good as Marc there'll be plenty of podiums and more for Honda next year.

Chain Oil

I like this thread...WD40 make a lube spray for motorcycle chains https://www.demon-tweeks.com/uk/wd40-chain-lube-aerosol-400ml-wdcwd44074/?utm_source=bing&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=MPX_UK_SEA_G_None_DT_DSA&utm_term=%2Fuk%2F&utm_content=All%20Pages&gclid=CKjrnNGc-eUCFQ-BhQod5q4B7g&gclsrc=ds fastbob even found another variant 'FTW 40' (not so good though)
9. What oil do you use on your chain?
10. The GT will I guess be on similar lines to the Yamaha 900 Tracer GT.

13. I always ride reliable bikes (Jap) and make sure they're well maintained! Last time I binned it on the road was Feb 78 (110mph tank slapper).......and I don't see that streak ending anytime soon. You'll see on rural tracks like today......I ride very slowly and deliberately on those because I'm aware of my limitations in that environment. When the wheels hit tarmac then it's game on again........because my skillset there is at a totally different level. And that's the key.......knowing your ability in different environments and adapting to it. Know your limitations. And yes.....I have breakdown cover though in some areas there's no signal. But there's always farmers about in tractors etc so it won't be that long before somebody turns up. In fact, more often that not when I stop to take a photo, a vehicle will turn up and ask if I'm OK. Can't ever remember that happening in Britain but it happens all the time here. Long may you keep it shiny side up and keep delivering your road exploits. barsteward
14. It may be worth investing in a wooden structure big enough for a bike and small workshop. It doesn't have to be temporary if the wood is treated with preservative on a regular basis. A concrete base may be useful to site it on.
15. Good stuff as usual XTreme , great little village at end of the vid, a pity you didn't show more of it. Just a thought, you're obviously a lone rider, what if the unthinkable happens, IE you break down or even worse come off the bike. Is there a breakdown or emergency service you can call upon to get you back up and running or home? or is it the hacienda of that then and the last we hear from you?
16. That's just darn cruel. Who would want to eat deep fried puppies?
17. Merino wool thermal glove liners are very effective in keeping the cold out.
18. Cut them down with some scissors then
19. Paraffin, cheap as chips and does a better job than gimmicky aerosol cleaners.
20. Well frankly I'm surprised by you @Six30. I would have thought that if anyone could come up with two good reasons for her being PM it would be you. IMG_1706.JPG Yeh you could have a bit of fun with them ..... she's got that stupid twot look about her ... and she wouldn't come she'd arrive . And you would end up having a debate about it too
21. Horses are very tasty. I can't understand the fuss we had a few years ago when horse meat got into our food chain?
22. Without doubt a great bit of engineering from Honda. This would certainly come into its own if you used the bike as an everyday work horse. It's not for me though, I tried it and didn't really gel with the twist and go concept, not a criticism of it but just not for everyone. I have however had a go on a Tracer 900 with the quick shifter, now that could easily be my next bike.
23. Bugger off! Well, maybe stay if you promise not to show anymore photos of that mobility scooter?
24. Bugger off!
25. Easy! I was breaking out into a sweat just watching him.
