1. As far as I understood it everyone can go to work at the moment if they can't work from home. It's not been limited to essential workers only so it doesn't matter if mechanics are designated ...yet.... I would also say that maintaing a vehicle is nessacary so therefore you should be able to drop it off with some help from your wife. However, bump into one of these police officers that makes up rules and laws in his/her head and you could be in for some irritation of the highest level.
2. Hoping for some extreme measures but doubt we will get them until it's too late
3. I agree and would add Sunstar to the mix for sprockets. Think wemoto stock them aswell
4. No that's BSM they have no discipline Explains their low pass rate
5. I thought it was a driving school
6. I had the same idea. Took the plastics off to stick a bit of superglue on the cracks and gave the bike a proper clean while everything was a bit more accessible.
7. It was the same at Abergavenny yesterday. People were keeping their distance for the most part but not everyone and definitely not when it came to queuing at the café where it all went out the window. As much as I feel for the business owners I don't think cafés etc should be open even for takeaway. Would you trust a burger van operator facing maybe months of no income to shut his van if he got a cough? I wouldn't. We decided it would be safer to go somewhere a little less busy. The Peregrine falcons dive bombing their prey provided the entertainment.
8. Sounds like an earthing problem or high resistance joint somewhere to me. Check and clean all your connections from the headlight back to the fusebox/chassis
9. If I was aware the full set can be had this cheaply I wouldn't have made my suggestion. This comes from a habit of putting Renthal and DiD in my chain and sprocket searches. Good find Bob
10. Weather was too good today to resist giving the Streetbob it's first outing of the year. Headed out with HappyHarryHardOn to Abergavenny bus station to see what was going on. Not as busy as it usually would be but enough for us to not want to hang around there. Headed out towards Brecon and stopped at one of my favourite spots on the road between Upper Chapel and Garth. But don't worry we maintained our 2 meters But what do you do when all the cafés are closed?...... Open your own
11. If your chain has a master link with a clip you could remove one but if you're struggling to the point a front sprocket is out of reach I feel you maybe screwed as far as biking goes mate.
12. I imagine it's more a first chance kind of thing. First nice day in a long time. I bet everybody will be out tomorrow.
13. Of course not too many places to stop for coffee and cake open at the moment. I'm just round the corner from Abergavenny so if you're down this way once all this madness is over perhaps I'll see you around.
14. 1 pee stop is impressive. Sounds like a great day
15. You got some equipment there? Yeah I just use the side stand on the Rally as a bead breaker and have the static balancer in the pic. I wasn't sure about it at first but when I had my Africa Twin I needed to be able to switch between road tyres and knoblies a few times a year so gave it a go. Does the job really well and only cost about £30. Never experienced any vibration. Tested up to around 115mph at which time it was my arse that was vibrating.
16. Now balancing the new whitewalls on my brother's Bobber. Just got to decide if it's warm enough to leave the dual sports at home tomorrow
17. Bleeding brakes on the Rally after too much time spent the wrong way up
18. Really? You could just exercise your powers of self administration and ignore this thread. What is it with people on here running to mummy? He owns the forum you pleb. Giveaways and surveys usually need to be approved by forum owners. I know who he is thanks. Didn't realise you where his deputy though.
19. Why would anyone punch anyone else for being sensible (killjoy)? No one really, but I'm glad he's regained a semblance of humor lol Thank you for noticing
20. The same if you get punched in the face for being a killjoy. Just saying
21. This could have been its own topic I guess so please move if required but felt it was relevant to the OP's concern. A bit of good news https://www.visordown.com/news/general/can-i-ride-my-motorcycle-during-coronavirus-lockdown
22. If you were taking your dog on the bus to the New Forest then yes there is an argument for you being irresponsible as you could infect key workers that have to use the bus. Driving 10 minutes in your car is only going to upset Greta so I think you'll be fine. Exercise is being encouraged as it's one of the factors that will work in your favour should you catch it.
23. Sounds like a brilliant gym
