I'm with @Fiddlesticks on this one. Have a 08 Pan since 2014 and only thing I ever did was replacing brake pads, service, tyres and that kind of stuff. Last year looked to replace it with something newer and couldn't find anything that would do the job as well as the Pan. I would say that the only add-on is a gel pad on the seats and you can go 150 miles without needing a stop. 250 miles on a tank and a tonne of luggage space. Obviously, @Stu will say a beamer is the way to go...

Hope all goes well and you can enjoy riding soon. Keep in mind we love pics in here. Feel free to show off the progress of the work

Not wanting to state the obvious... Make sure you have some DOT4 brake fluid ready to top-up the reservoirs. I would dare say, if the fluid is showing signs of ageing, you're better replace it.

Get a good bleeding valve. It takes half the work away.

Well, I like the idea Maybe the sensor is better than the phone screen one. Nothing prevents to have a key starting hiding somewhere for emergency. Although that will defeat the purpose.

Normally trickle chargers come with a connection cable that will be hanging under the seat or somewhere accessible. If you want a fixed point you can just use a waterproof cigarettes lighter fixed inside anywhere out of sight. Then connect the lighter to the battery and use a plug connected to the charger. Examples of the items: socket plug

Not as easy as that, VAT would have already been paid by first owner. I agree with import duty. You will likely have to pay it once you convert the plate to UK.

Maybe you can get a caravan that can carry a pan european so I wouldn't need a second person driving and spending 1/3 more fuel going to the same place.

Can't comment as when I travel I'm alone. Hence making a pull behind trailer for the bike
