  1. Going to fit the windshield back onto the shadow for tomorrow's ride.
  2. Now I understand when yesterday while watching the news I heard an elderly lady saying "I should have stabbed him a few more times..."
  3. I must say that both my machines will perform differently with either of E10 or E5. I don't think I will us anything else other than premium E5 petrol. Also considering building the prototype for my ethanol extractor that I've designed. Never got through with it because I didn't really see any advantages for it. Having seen some comments (are they good or not I can't say) about ethanol being bad not only for the fuel lines but also some of the peripherical devices. Makes me think that maybe it is time to start that new project.
  4. Oven-gloves? That sounds interesting. maybe wear them over some marigolds for the waterproof effect...
  5. A reputable garage is no warranty that the bike was in good condition. Also, nothing guarantees you that the mechanic wasn't trying to stitch you up telling you porkies. Unless you saw the oil coming out the engine to a clean bowl I would take his word as good as me telling you that I'm next in throne for the UK.
  6. Do you wanna bet? When I had my Africa Twin I had the key for the disk lock together with the bike's key and that didn't stop me to try to take off with the lock on the wheel. That's why now I have the lock with the horrible yellow coil. Your system is good, although a bit expensive, but gets hidden under the muffler.
  7. Following yesterday's post about the batteries for my TMPS sensors, a wee update. The batteries arrived just now. A pair of 3V lithium cells, no hassle, can't complain shipping, both free and as fast as you could wish for. My opinion, a company to consider (already in bookmark list) when wanting to get any more batteries.
  8. I like the concept. The only thing I would be weary about is the lack of any warning that you're about to take off and you forgot to unlock the bike. Either a flashing LED at the front so you can't miss it that will link to the lock, or something that you will have to remove when unlocking the bike, this would also serve as deterrent to theft.
  9. Then if you have a bike that weights 300kg like mine and you live in Scotland where anything that heavy is not worth any trouble, then you just leave the bike without any security
  10. You will have to consider the weight of the bike as a factor together with location. Usually disk lock is the preferred option for a short/medium duration stop. For overnight security then you will be talking about something more robust and that looks too hard to be tempered with as a deterrent like strong chains.
  11. Not only you will have overheating problems in the wheel bearings but because of the extreme heat you will have the wheel expanding and affect the brake disks. Also, heated metal becomes lighter so you will have less grip. Wait, there is a guy in red stuck in my chimney and funny looking reindeer looking at my window... brb.
  12. Hope that's not a 4 berth yatch. That will make a massive door behind it
  13. I hate my internet provider!!! Called them, 8th in the waiting list. To make it worse, got the option of call back. 15min later got the call. less than 10 min and the dropping connection problem is solved and everything running properly. I hate when I can't have a good complain.
  14. Some times British companies get it right. Nothing fancy, easy to find what you're looking for and very good price. I've ordered the button cells for the TMPS on the Pan. The batteries aren't easy to find on high street/supermarkets so I had to go online. Still to know if they are good in costumer service and speed of postage but the purchase process is very good and simple to use. https://www.smallbattery.company.org.uk/index.htm
  15. Now, this could work https://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/high-flyer-then-you-might-want-to-pick-up-the-xturismo-hoverbike-z0ww3m8b8
  16. Or you do as I do, watch the mrs walking in and out all the time with the laundry basket I could say that Scotland and drying clothes outside don't go together, but what do I know about it...
  17. I have no idea which, if any, of my neighbours are annoying. I just ignore the whole lot If I'm the one, well. though
  18. Surprised the wellies didn't got nicked...
  19. For the first time, having finished the bluetooth hifi system, I don't have much to do this weekend Have my B.A.C.A. monthly meeting on Sun but that's about it Going to be a restful one And now bit of a show of.. This is the "brain" 160W amp used And this is the box working. 95db at half volume on BT. Bass is impressive, far better than I expected. Still missing the external BT aerial and the small side ports but I believe is another f**kup from RM. Damn things are sitting in Langley since the 15th Oct. Yes it is square 57cm X 45cm X 15cm (inch is 2.54cm you calculate it) There is a wee blinking blue light but after 15 pics I didn't manage to get it on the photo and I can't be bothered taking a shot of a clip, live with it. Even comes with a remote, so I can operate it while working on the bikes Not sure if I'll be fitting the red strips covering the screws, gives it an industrial badass rough look
  20. Just the words "cutting and gluing" would make me run away.
  21. OOHH... that opens so many doors....
  22. I've always got breakdown cover from the insurer. My experience is that they usually have better deals than signing just for it separately.
  23. Original Honda ones, considering they are from 2008 think they last long enough.
  24. Yesterday "had to make a delivery in Brechin. 1 1/2hr each way just under 120 miles return. Was either that or relying on RM for the job. On the plus side, found out that my heated grips are gone and my waterproof suit that I got for £70 is brilliant at 6C with speed 70(ish)mph. Next need to get some heated gloves.
  25. Only if I could find a way to get into that club.... Without hurricane process.
