Looking for volunteers (bikers) for a YouTube video! (London)
Fish replied to Mikhail's topic in General Chat
The thing that makes you a strager is that you're new here. If you had been on the forum for a while that would be different, but two posts (both in this thread) makes you new aka a stranger. Yes I'm London based, but you state that you find the current crop of video's out there boring as they are mostly riding only video's and not interviews finding out about the riders/owners, but you then say that you want video's of the bikes revving, rolling shots and burnouts with an odd interview of two. Make your mind up please. I'll be passing on this one -
The Yamaha dealer I stopped at today looking for a handlebar bag to store my phone whilst riding. Whilst talking with the parts/service person, I said that I was looking to replace the exhaust for something a little louder (re commuting into central London) and he mentioned that a deal might be had on an underbike Akrapovic (Yam Tracer 700). I said that I wanted the model that sits underneth the bike and not the model that has the backbox going up the side of the bike. So I go home and pick the car up and get back to the dealer. I get the exhaust home and start unboxing like a kid at Christmas and guess what version they gave me! Yeap the one that goes up the side of the rear wheel! Gave them a call and he was in the workshop and they'd give me a call back! There I was looking at going for a ride to get the ECU used to the exhaust change before riding into London which is mostly traffic light grad prix central.

Been using an EOS 20D then swapped to a 70D a few years back. They are capable of far more than what I could ever do

Waved it off as the van pulled away, but at least my bank manager has a smile due to the extra funds.... Now what can I go and buy

So tomorrow morning I'll be selling my 125, then I'm off the HelmetCity to get my Richa Infinity 2 jacket sent off under warranty (water proof lining not working) then I'm unsure what I'll be getting up to

Joe that's the magic A20 roundabout where everyone gets in the wrong lanes. Happy that it's sorted and you're ok.

So I had a cheeky little stop at Infinity clearance warehouse on my way back from Winchester. I needed another jacket as my Richa has to go back under warranty and I need another whilst that's away. I picked up an Halvarssons Walkyr, the sleeves are a little long but nothing too bad. £500 down to £250

Yamaha MT-125 2020 Plate (MY2019) for sale
Fish replied to Fish's topic in For Sale and Wanted - Motorbike related
Sold for a small drink under the asking price. -
So I went and knocked on the door of the friend I was meant to go out riding with today, but his boss wouldn't let him come out to play. I had cleaned the bike, filled it up with petrol and the grumpy mare just wasn't having any of it. She's such a killjoy I then decided to make a lot of bikey type noises outside to wind him up whilst he stood at the window with a sad face and bottom lip protruding a fair distance.... I then left and went for a nice hours ride.

I just couldn't and can't get motivated to work at present.

Yamaha MT-125 2020 Plate (MY2019) for sale
Fish replied to Fish's topic in For Sale and Wanted - Motorbike related
I have priced it lower than dealers as I understand the dealer/warranty side of things. Even though the bike still have a manufacturer warranty until next June. -
Offered 3 lots of different overtime with work..... rejected them all as I need to clean the bike after last nights ride.

Sorry to hear that. When I was doing my DAS I was on a CB650R and the other person was on the Z650. We swapped bikes at the end of the second day just to see what the 'other' bike was like and it put me off the Z650. Quite a lot of vibrations which the silky 4 pot didn't have. Did the training company give you a ride around the area before the test? They normally do this on at least one of the possible routes the test centre uses. You won't always be riding familiar roads, so paying attention to the small details are to bits that make a difference. -

I just didn't feel comfortable with the power delivery, being almost double what I had ridden to that point. I had played with the 3 modes, maybe (rightly or not) I was too nervous of it

Up early tomorrow to sadly get on public transport to go collect my new to me Tracer 700. I'll be putting pictures up just for Stu as he's a little sensitive about posts about new bikes without pictures The joke part is that the 700 was more expesive than the 900 to insure, but I just didn't feel right on the 900.
-
That sucks. I found the avoidance swerve tighter at the training centre than at the test pad. I know this sounds silly, but book a sneeky test on your 125 as it's only £15. If you can get it sorted on the 125 a bigger bike will be that bit easier. Keep your chin up.

So the time has come to part ways with the trusty machine that I have had for a little over a year whilst I completed and obtained my full license. The bike is a 2019 model Yamaha MT-125 on a 2020 plate (late registration), so still has until June 2022 for warranty. It's currently on 6214 which will increase slightly upto this weekend when I collect my new ride. The bike has recently had a new JL HD chain and sprockets fitted and an 1800 mile oil service (last weekend) completed by the dealer I purchased it from. It is also fitted with some grip puppies which are easily removed if needed. The only down side is that the rear wheel has some paint chipping due to the original security chain I was using. The bike is finance free and I have been the only owner from new. It also has a DataTool tracker fitted for security piece of mind. I would like £3500 which seems to be the average going rate that I can find.

If you can go for a ride on the A86 from Fort William/Spean Bridge up to Dalwhinnie. Stopping at Laggan Dam for a touristy pic.
