  1. But the sick people who tend to take our bikes don't attempt to pick the lock, they just go straight to the hand held grinder.
  2. So buying a cover to keep the bike dry and covered I thought I'd go for a well known brand that seem's to be the 'go to' brand. Purchased in August 21, and for the best part it's done its job. Sadly the outter tapes covering the seams is failing, sent an email to Oxford customer services and they just said to go back to the place of purchase and let them deal with it. So my plan will be to get the shop to replace it, and look for another brand. My old BikeIt cover from my old 125 days seems to be the best I've seen so far.
  3. So I had to think fast and get a valentines day gift.... Some reason she didn't like it
  4. Where in the country are you. Perhaps a few of us might meet up with you and see what we can do to help build that confidence
  5. Closest I can find on a quick search are some TCX.... https://uk.tcxboots.com/collections/all/products/hero-waterproof?variant=39251148112034
  6. Started at Maidstone meeting up with a mate, then off to Whitstable, Herne Bay, Canterbury, Dover and down the Dungeness to the Pilot for dinner. Circa 180 miles on a fecking windy (blown sideways many a time) day. Then to finish it off, 3 corners from home a w@nker jumps a roundabout and almost takes me out! Then starts flashing and tail gating me.... so I poodle around the houses to the police station where he does a sharp left and leaves me alone! Cock
  7. Something I've been thinking about for a while, think of it as a way of giving back. Does anyone have any experience of being a blood biker? What's expected, typicla hours and anything else worth knowning? https://www.bloodbikes.org.uk/
  8. The interest will come more if than when a cyclist hits a pedestrian! There have been various cases over the years when this has happened, and other than the very odd occasion the cyclist cannot be traced.
  9. Sounds like you need to speak with some of the many specialist insurance companies rather than asking on a forum.
  10. At least when the box falls off we'll hear you coming
  11. Used to work shifts just around the orner from Smithfields. My nightly lunch was mostly a walk around to see what was going on
  12. No no no.... Covent Garden is to mug the tourists.... Canary Wharf is for the (w)bankers
  13. OK it's 44teeth..... but it's with Mr Legaleagle.....
  14. Swap my usual Alpinestars for my flyer....
  15. Headlight bulb blew on the way into work this morning, so a quick stop at EuroCarParts and a set of Osram Night Breakers purchased. Cant tell the difference really.
  16. that's a very polite young man
  17. The bigger question is where on the scale does those to$$ers on electric scooters fit in! Pedestrian or cyclist?
  18. Cold and the amount of salt on the roads.
  19. So when I picked my bike up during the summer it had a white wax/grease on it. It lasted much better than the Silkoene and Motul's I've been using. I applied the Silkolene two weeks ago, riden twice and it was showing signs of lite surface rust which came off with a clean and no brushing. So what grease are people using and how can I get this white grease look/application again?
  20. So off out car shopping today on the bike, 4 dealers visited. 2 stood out from the others. Audi Bexley and Merc Dartford gave time to look around before approaching and being very nice to deal with. Then the other 2..... BMW what a difference, first I was completely ignored and with a couple of staff sitting chatting to each other. The last I was acknowledged shortly after arriving and shown the model I was interested in. Didn't really feel comfortable in the car, but then came the hard sell that theirs are better than the Audi and Merc.... Both these last two are from the same franchise, so I might try a different on franchise tomorrow.
  21. I'm due to be working Manchester on the 31st, so maybe going up a day early might not be a bad idea.
  22. I will be using the bike instead of my car.... to go look at some different cars. My job has recently changed and I'll be doing a lot more miles, so looking for something that can sit a bit better than my current Abarth on motorway journeys. Currently thinking BMW 320d, Audi A4 or 5 or the Merc C220d
  23. I was driving to a clay shot down a couple of country lanes.... found a few cyclists grouped together and waving me down. All they told me was that the roads were slippy, I told them that my car was showing minus temps and that might be the reason. One was appearing from a ditch as I was driving off and turning the heating up after having to open the window. Common sense seems to elude these mamil's
  24. Steels are not recommended as if you have an accident they will enjoy removing your toes from your feet, get some proper boots. Plenty of choice for all different budgets
