  1. I think it’s about time they banned those bloody motorbikes ... screaming round the roads pretending to be racers. All dressed up in their leather clothes, frightening my dog and horses. Riding round the woods churning up the footpaths, causing chaos ...... It’s so easy to be intolerant of others isn’t it .....
  2. Us Lycra clad cyclists are out in force everywhere ..... why don’t you like Lycra ..... does it secretly excite you ???? Can you not look at MAMIL’S without getting a little bit hard ... Try it, you know you want to .....
  3. This is a well known problem with the Himalayan. Usually attributed to the vapour recycling system that has an influence on tank breathing. Having a kinked or partially trapped hose causes the engine to cut out in neutral, usually at the lights ! I removed the entire system .... not had an issue since. So check your tank breathing system ....
  4. We're on top of a hill ... the highest outside of the Peaks in South Yorkshire .... but it’s well drained as the hill has been mined for coal ... a certain amount of subsidence, but reasonably stable. Silverwood Colliery in the valley below sunk the shaft and after 2 years was following the seam uphill !! My wifes great uncle sank the shaft as a lad .... and is still down there after a cave-in in his 40’s ....

  6. You cant even warm a pie up at work, thats the problem with induction furnaces .... we had gas fired walking beam furnaces at my steel works ... speed up the walk, put pies on the entry ... recover perfectly cooked pies before they fell into the quench ,,,, lovely We have full English brekkie for Sunday dinner .... and a small roast mid week when the girls are with us .... they go to Uncle johns Saturday and Sunday now .... gives us a bit of a break .... But Riley (3), comes Saturday morning until Sunday morning ..so break is probably the wrong word ...
  7. I’m always amazed how sensitive Drivers are to track conditions ..... Drivers do not have the best rep in the industry ... Unionised to the hilt and will go to great lengths NOT to take a train into traffic... "Oh my chair isn’t warm enough “ ...."The windscreen wash is empty" ..... AT THE OTHER END OF THE TRAIN !!!! But just now and again they star ..... superstar ..... ....
  8. Being a resident of rural Somerset I would have thought you would be used to that ....
  9. Powerful vehicles don’t kill people, just as guns don’t kill .... Keep your legislation for humans ... anything else is pointless i believe.
  10. Dozens of skilled Fitters, Technicians and Engineers available due to closures in other industries .. especially Aviation. Covid has not impacted our operations at all, keeping up with all the different rail depots requirements took a while but sorted months ago. Working hours are tightly legislated and monitored iaw Railway Group Standards. It’s a good place to be at the moment.... we’re buried in work for the foreseeable future.
  11. We're Railway Engineers, Hydraulic and fluid transfer systems and Traction and braking control systems .... Hoses and Sanders basically.
  12. I’m bored at work today to be honest ... we’re in a “phoney war” period before 5 major projects kick off ...So ... catching up with work admin, training and recruitment .... Enjoying the calm before the storm ...
  13. Enjoy having food in the supermarkets and fuel in the garages ? The right way, the wrong way ... and the Railway ...... Thats why i’m on the road most days .....
  14. No .. but i've been cutting trees down safely for 40 years ..... and 99% of those you employ are lying to you about their insurance ... check for the Irish accent ...lol I normally take 50% of the cord wood as payment and i clear the site ...
  15. Chainsaw, Bowie knife and Gimp mask .... don’t leave home without them ...
  16. That sounds like your paying someone to cut the trees down .... i’ll do it for free .....
  17. As i travel all over the UK i have my trusty chainsaw with me at all times .... who pays for wood ....
  18. 125 James bitsa ... given free by Walter, an old gentleman i worked with at the Crawford's Burn Inn, just east of Belfast. We where the pot washers ... I crashed 3 times on the way home ... was forbidden to have it by my Mum ... But, Mr. Dixon heard the one way shouting match and waved me to his house, 3 doors away, and pointed to his garage ... He helped me rebuild it into a safe bike to ride (ish ) and his wife Deborah defused my Mum .... I rode it to school across the fields. I was 14....
  19. Depeche Mode trance mix ups and lots of female trance vocal stuff
  20. More power for an abusive Police Farce .... sorry i’ll pass this one by ....
  21. Morning all, weather going to be good today, thats overcast, dryish and above freezing, so off to work on the bike for an hour then an escape into the Peaks or towards the coast for some “David and the motorbike” time.
  22. Not sure why you have included me in your post ...????
  23. Goodnight Tom ... good innings, well played .... Our humour is what makes us British...
  24. The thaw has started, the back garden, paved, is now a minefield of dog poo hidden and not so hidden by the snow ....
