  1. I love a good typo
  2. If it's a flat based box trailer then you are better off strapping it down on the side stand, not the main. That way you have 3 points of contact and with tight straps it won't go anywhere. Same as they do on a ferry.

    First Ever Tour

Looks a good route, what's the daily / total mileage?? Hoping that you have a great time and really enjoy touring for what it is. My experience of big groups is that it turns into a willy waving competition (my bikes faster than your bike scenario). That's the reason I either go alone or with a max of 3, and then it's always stated that if anyone wants to get a hurry on then do it, I'll meet them at the next hotel.

  5. As I remember Mike Hailwood died going to his local chippy , these things can happen anywhere so your teaching him AGAT has proven correct. Bummer about the holiday but as long as he is on the up it's a winner.
  6. It's not easy at the moment to know what to do is it?. I've recently been through the same conundrum, should I go petrol, diesel, electric ???? I ended up going hybrid. Who says I'm indecisive ??
  7. Be wary of what you tell the insurance company. If you say lock and chain and then forget to put ito on, it get's nicked, you're on a loser. (Damn, beaten to it )
  8. Time to get 8 of them on ebay @ £3.00 + £1.50 postage
  9. Sorry for the typo, I meant 1.15. And unfortunately I am like @Simon Davey, I hate people who try to "bully" their way in, although I understand your sentiments.
  10. I didn't listen to his comments but I think he was in the right. At 3.15 you can see that it is the outside lane that ends, and the other car was showing in his rear view camera so clearly wasn't in front of him.
  11. Surely, if you have a V5 as stated, then it has an 11 digit Document reference number (top right). That and other personal info should be all that you need to "tax" online.
  12. You want to be very careful around Harley riders.
  13. I think the "stiff" bit is too much information.
  14. F**k me, how did you get that picnic table on ??
  15. I'm with @onesea on this one. I always split large payments into 2 parts, small amount 1st which has to be verified by recipient. Balance immediately after. Everyone seems happy with this arrangement.
  16. This is becoming more of a Merchant Navy Forum
  17. Yes, I've never really understood why you can't state what month you want the tax to start in. Likewise when Sorning, why is it without road tax immediately if you do it mid month, it should run until the last day. Yes, I understand the logic if you have sold the bike, (if the new owner taxes it straight away they get paid twice for the same month), but otherwise it should run on.
  18. "Now, she wakes up every day feeling like someone different." Can I put my name on the list??
  19. Sorry, I can't help with your question, but I would change your understanding of "friend" if I were you
  20. I'm with SD. On reading your opening post I was thinking this instructor sounds like a knob, apparently so did SD. I would say sort it out with him or move on to someone more proficient.
  21. "£25 admin fee" I wish!!!. I've had to cancel two policies so far this year. First one cost me £60.00, second one cost me £45.00. I HATE insurance companies.
  22. Yes, I knew Olivers Mount because of the Mere in the foreground. I was there on the fateful day in 1968 that claimed the life of John Hartle.
