  1. Yep, had the overheating thing (when stationery) and the rain screwing with the touch screen.
  2. I did notice it wasn't on price comparison websites a couple of weeks ago.
  3. I have seen people use sea water to wash off muck and salt deposits - sounds counter-intuitive but apparently it works. If you want to completely clear the salt afterwards a bit of fresh water will easily shift the last of it.
  4. I've noticed this too. Went into Liverpool on Saturday for the first time in a year or so. Aside from the City Centre looking like a campsite with beggars everywhere, nobody knows how to step to one side to let people off the train or bus before they get on. It's just basic common courtesy (and common sense). The other one I noticed is people while driving in Manchester is people getting frustrated with you when you wait at a yellow box junction for the exit to become clear. Not quite sure I'm ready for the modern world.
  5. Where is that? Looks amazing. I'd probably give it a whirl on the Tiger Explorer - I practice my U-Turns on that bike a couple of times a week at the end of my shift before going home. Quite often do a few two-up while we're out together as well. Not a chance on the big cruiser though. It goes well in a straight line but needs a better rider than me to take it up a switchback like that.
  6. Good morning. Decided to take the car to Manchester last night as for some strange reason Mrs. Fiddlesticks didn't fancy riding home in minus 4 degrees temperatures. Good gig though.
  7. I switched from Lebara to Smarty after a ruinously expensive jaunt to the Isle of Man.
  8. A couple of drops of car windscreen rain repellent works for me.
  9. Thanks. Think the cycle bays might be a bit cheeky. Was having a gander on street view last night and there's evening parking on Dover St., so might try to squeeze in there.
  10. According to Google, the nearest motorcycle parking to the Academy is a mile away at Chepstow St. Does anyone know anywhere closer?

Congratulations on passing the test, and on the bike.
  12. Hi
  13. I always use E5. Not sure why, but in the unlikely event that it causes the planet to be less nithering this time of year, I'll count it a bonus.
  14. Hi, welcome to the madhouse.
  15. Great tip! Now Off to Google the top speed of my bike...
  16. Cool, post some pics
  17. Yep. And if you have two bikes on one policy you only build up one NCB. So if you later decide to separate them you start from scratch on one of them
  18. The XJR has been off the road for a while. All I did was top it up with E5, put it under a sheet on an Optimate and start it up every now and again. Last time it did sound rough though. If it's a dry weekend I might give it a run...
  19. Can't go wrong with a Strom.
  20. Happy Birthday!
  21. Howdy
  22. I think you've just triggered my PTSD
  23. XCP, ACF-50 whatever. Last year spent a bit of time spraying it on with the compressor. Then used the bike through the winter. Trouble is.. Every time I got it home covered in salt and muck I'd clean it all off. I reckon a few washes with the snow foam and the XCP has probably gone anyway. I did re-apply it sometime mid-January, but honestly... Is there any point?
