  1. Rings a bell. I didn't argue the point. Found a much better deal and jumped.
  2. Started stripping down the XJR for its winter service. Going to have a go at shining up the aluminium hangars. First step, get stuff a bit cleaner. Rear tyre off. Couldn't get the disc off despite 24hrs soaking in WD40. Didn't want to break anything so cleaned it in place. The new tyre looks a lot less square. Looking forward to riding it and not feeling like I'm constantly fighting it in the bends. Had enough for now. No great hurry.
  3. Hi Fiddlesticks, It's time to renew your motorcycle insurance. Last year you were a complete newbie who had foolishly bought himself a 1300cc bike so torquey it thought it was a Devon seaside resort. What, with the lack of any rider aids, we thought you'd probably kill yourself in the first two weeks, so we only charged you £223. While last year's discount targeted the inexperienced, this year we have a special for our most gullible customers. If you would love to take up this offer, please pay £348 at your earliest convenience. Thanks and happy riding.
  4. Being from Yorkshire, mine are Thee/Thou.
  5. I've quite happily filtered past traffic including a police car on a hatched area with a broken white line like this one. No issues, as long as it's safe. Crossing a solid line is a different story.
  6. I did something similar a while ago, but it was a water pipe I went though.
  7. Well done - enjoy!
  8. I remember working in a government building where they x-ray all the incoming mail. Someone thought it would be a good idea to get a set of bike lights delivered to work, but they arrived on a Saturday when he was not available. You could not imagine a more bomb-like image. Caused a small kerfuffle, and an impromptu get-together of the bomb squad plus assorted fire engines and ambulances.
  9. Hi there

    Hi
  11. Sounds like fun. If it's free I'll take 42.
  12. I find that a combo of ear plugs and a thin stretchy skull cap / running cap thingy works well.
  13. Only had the two, and still got them both so I won't upset either one by picking a favourite. I'd love a blacked out Triumph Thunderbird 1700 though. Had a sit on one back in the summer. The perfect muscle cruiser.
  14. Do you know what those eggs will fetch on the black market? Can't get 'em for love nor money round here.
  15. Merry Christmas one and all. Don't forget to defrost the turkey.
  16. Ex- Hatfield lad here, but moved away otherwise would have joined you. All the best with it.
  17. Maybe the wires coming from the ignition lock barrel? Only mention it as I've just had mine replaced on the Explorer and while researching it it seemed like a lot of people had had lights failing due to cracked wires under the lock.
  18. What a great eulogy. A life well lived.
  19. Team meal at a nice place in town today. Might not make it back to the office this afternoon.
  20. ... The bike that inspired the yamaha Nikken.
  21. It's a crazy world where it costs more to heat your house than to buy it.
  22. It got down to -10 on my drive into work.
