  1. Noticed a Rose and Crown and a Railway while out and about if anyone is up that way again and needs pub tags. Nice to see everyone
  2. Tango Bonniebird - V.Slow Roadrunner Golach808 Terry555 Nman1 ?Whitedevil GOG
  3. And a beer-soaked false moustache
  4. We should hopefully be there, I'm at the office setting up a new analyser Tues pm but it will be OK if I can get away earlyish - going to rearrange our running nights to leave Tuesdays free
  5. One of the good things about taking a bike test is that no one is sat right next to you like with your car test so it doesn't seem quite as pressurised. I was much less nervous on my bike test (which I passed 1st time) than my car test (which took 3 attempts ).
  6. A Rush of Blood to the Head - Coldplay
  7. Weather looks perfect for Sunday - I'm gutted
  8. You shouldn't need a kid's size lid. My kids started riding on the back of mine when they were around 10. My daughter's 18 now and still a size small. I think we still have a v.small leather bike jacket at home. Not sure if there's pockets for armour though but it's thick leather - traditional biker style - I'll have a look when home later. You are welcome to it if its suitable
  9. See if you can download a manual http://www.filestube.com/c/chinese+scoo ... nes+manual
  10. Were you sold this bike as a runner because it shouldn't break down within a day of getting home!!
  11. Could be. There's a general Haynes repair manual for Chinese/Taiwanese scooters etc but I can't see a specific one for this model. If you are going to take it apart i would suggest you be methodical in what you do and take photos as you go along to make sure you get it back together OK
  12. Easter Sunday and the day before the Southend shakedown?? Yep, could be up for it
  13. From the manual page 25: Checking the carburettor In the unlikely event that your scooter fails to start please check the air pilot screw on the side of the carburettor. It should be 2.5 turns out. Screw all the way in and count the number of turns out. There's an illustration too. http://www.scooter.co.uk/manuals/Manual-DB50QT-11.pdf
  14. As a contrast, my 18year old daughter's insurance on her CG125 is £250
  15. Hi Jack, welcome to the forum Why are you looking for a motocross style, is it because you are tall, have done motocross or just because you like the look? If it is a height thing then you could consider something like the Honda Varadero 125. As Tango said, the Yammy is the only choice out of those two. There's a Kawasaki KLX 125 that I think is road legal and something called a D-Tracker that looks to be motocross looks for road use. No personal experience of any of these though. I would also go for a road bike for the road. Full protective gear should be worn at all times
  16. Could be up for a Rutland meet. Finish the Uni visits after next weekend
  17. There's a White Horse in Eaton Socon on the main road. It's on the left if you are travelling north up from Wyboston Lakes. King's Arms at Polebrook near Oundle. It's probably our closest one. Could do a run up to the Rutland tag, taking that one in on the way there or back.
  18. A lot of bike schools offer intensive courses so yes, you can do it in a week if you want to and ride without L-Plates on a bike up to 33bhp. If you only want to ride a 125cc on L-Plates then you only need a CBT which is a single day but you can't take pillions and you can't go on motorways on L-plates. It all depends on the sort of riding you want to do. If you only want to ride a 125cc locally then you could save the training course money and put it towards a better bike and then do the tests later in your own time. If you are desperate for something bigger ASAP then do the intensive course
  19. Congrats Roy Happy riding
  20. Yeah, I was out and about not far from there on Sunday afternoon
  21. Lady Jane - The Rolling Stones
  22. There's no right and wrong way to do it Yes, you can pass your test with only lessons. Loads of people do. Some people on the forum have also passed Mod 1 and 2 on the forum with no lessons at all, just CBT and experience on a 125cc. A 125 will hold it's value (unless you trash it or buy brand new) and they are easy to sell. Don't forget your theory test.
  23. And yes, it does include hazard perception
  24. Probably is called a spindle cover or protector or hub nut cover. Can't find anything on Google though - sorry. Think the aftermarket protectors or sliders look good and not too expensive.
  25. Tango and me would only know last minute if we could come and it's doubtful because of the kids (14yo son anyway). There's a possibility though as it should be my ex's Saturday and he does sometimes have them for more than a day. Any accommodation or campsites within staggering distance of your's? - We wouldn't want to grab a patch of grass and then not come!
