Carole Nash are showing classic cover on there website, a quick google said some companies class a bike older than 15yrs as classic cover.
  3. Ohh might see you down there, look for me I'll be in the peasant quarters.
  4. sounds good, fingers crossed.
  5. Sounds like the owner imported the bike to the UK but never registered it, so DVLA would be no good. Looks like you need to get the owner to give you proof of purchase to "import" it. Would the DMV give you the owners details. I guess the owner has gone back to Texas? If it was reported to the council I assume the would impound it and then auction it. If that was to happen then maybe purchase from auction and register it with DVLA.
  6. Good youtube vid here tried to embed video but no idea how.

  8. The GS had twin shocks and I believe that the huggers were developed to protect mono shocks.
  9. It wasn't the predator spray job was it as that seemed to be popular about then?
  10. Just got in from a great night out with the wife, saw Guns and Roses on tv, thought great to sit down and watch with a few whiskeys. Well so far really disappointed, sound is carp, lyrics you can hardly hear and by the looks of the spectators they are not feeling the buzz as they are just stood watching. Shame a great band but not so great tonight. Pass the remote wife time to channel flick.

Oh also crisps make great sarnies, with a large choice of filling flavours, nom nom.

    Nuts or crisps

Smokey bacon crisps with a pickled egg or a shake of worcester sauce.
  13. Looks a great trip, making me jealous we spent some time touring around the dolomites last year fantastic place, we stayed most of the time in Cortina d'Ampezzo which gave us a good base. The Ligurian alps looks great esp as the napoleonic route is near so you have just given food for thought for next years jolly.
  14. Would an Australian company cover the traveller?
  15. I would also take some spare fuses, esp a main fuse just in case. Oh and I got the main fuse for my yam from euro car parts for a few quid not the twenty odd quid that yamaha dealership quote. This is the compressor I carry, https://www.adventurebikeshop.co.uk/wheels-mudguards-huggers/rocky-creek-12v-tyre-inflator/ quite small but powerful and fits under the saddle. I also bought the tyre gauge that goes inline with it, https://www.adventurebikeshop.co.uk/wheels-mudguards-huggers/rocky-creek-tyre-gauge-dial-type-with-two-chucks/. Hope this helps.
  16. Went down to Bristol and the wife bought me a HJC R-PHA 90S Carbon helmet for my upcoming birthday.

  18. Last weekend was a bit of this(below)and think today will be the same, helping out at family farms. Tomorrow down to Bristol to try on a HJC carbon lid. https://i.imgur.com/yAmSja8.mp4 Tried to embed a video but could only link to it on Imgur.
  19. If I have worked it out correctly, 1367 miles @ 60mph is 22.7hrs so he would have had to ride on the limit(inc motorway speeds) to do it in the time esp with 30/40mph limits. Thats if I worked it out right. Thats a good achievement. It would be nice to see the route
  20. A bit late but yesterday rode up the Elan Valley some of the way then stopped for a sarnie, did a U turn and rode back to Rhayader turned towards Builth then Abergavenny then headed home. Today out on the bike but no idea which way we are going. Oh and noticed the fuel cap was tight on the key so put a smidge of graphite in the lock to lubricate it.
