  1. One of the things that I keep noticing on this forum is Honda motorcycles really suffer badly from rust.
  2. Sportsbikeshop is selling off all of its old stock, like you l couldn't find a decent fit. They only have odd sizes left now, hopefully they'll get some new stock in when they've cleaned out the older stuff.

    hello

There is a lot of choice in the midrange twin scene, the Hornet would be a good choice l imagine. Go and have a sit on one.
  4. I'm familiar with a lot of those villages, open roads through large village greens and always a pond, and all at 30mph. You did the sensible thing and moved over, let them race on until they are behind the next vehicle a few hundred metres up the road.
  5. Wing it! give it a blast of contact cleaner and go about your business, it's working isn't it?
  6. Ha haar.. great review.. I was thinking how long ago it was when I last saw them. I must look like Uncle Albert myself now, so I stopped thinking about it..
  7. Judas Priest and Saxon, that is a blast from the past!
  8. You been on the Chinon again, pics don't work..

    hello

Hi, how lighter and slower are you thinking? I went from the Suzuki down to a XSR 700, loads slower but defo lighter and fun. think LC 350 fun.
  10. Many moons ago bikers used to just flash their lights as they passed. Instead of a nod as such try twisting your head to one side, like a glancing look, you can do it and still keep your eyes on the road, like a sideways nod, works for me.
  11. Looks like matey has bar risers on his, the pic above. Maybe you need something a little more upright.
  12. Hi, l chose a white helmet for exactly that reason, l think they are more visible so went with it. Don't know if there is any proof, l just noticed myself one day while watching a load of bikes go by.
  13. As above, you got caught and now you'll have to pay the price £.
  14. How many threads have you got going on this starter issue?
  15. Maybe check you have power to the starter button and to the starter motor from the battery. Check fuses etc l think its a process of elimination.
  16. Red kites, kestrels, buzzards and peregrine falcons and sparrowhawks most common here l think. Is that a peregrine?
  17. Strange world isn't it. The only encounters I've had with the polis on the road have been good.
  18. I used to use those earplugs when out in the lorry, they are the best value for total block out of sound. Took me back to overnighting at truck stops that did.
  19. If you are ok with slow meticulous processes it's not that bad. Keep each carb separate from it's neighbour, in 4 tubs if you like, some folks just do one at a time so you don't mix them up. Getting the carbs on and off with the rubbers can be a challenge, and often the rubbers themselves harden over time being a bit of a pain, you can soften them if you need to. Be prepared for skinning your knuckles and get a swear jar ready!
  20. try checking the throttle cable is running freely and not tight/ trapped anywhere.
  21. Hi, have you seen one on another bike? I'm going out on a limb here but I'd be very surprised if anyone made one for that model.
  22. You have a few options to be going on with, not tried the additives myself but defo worth a go. Plus giving the bike a good run out to get all the juices flowing, so to speak, run a full tank of fuel through it. If the shop you took the bike to did a ultrasonic clean they would have taken the carbs off to do that, maybe they didn't want to take the bowls off to have look. At least they come on and off ok. I'd be asking exactly what they did. No air leaks anywhere? If you get no joy from the additives and want to take the carbs to pieces and want to do a proper job get a rebuild kit. Allens Performance are recommended. https://www.allensperformance.co.uk/
  23. Talking to yourself, that's one of the first signs isn't it?
  24. Thanks, I had fun with that.
  25. I prefer stainless myself.
