  1. No. But the bike is primed and ready to go should we get any nice dry weather, only got to wheel it out, it's mot'd and insured. You can tax it in minutes online. Usually go up to when they change the clocks back, end of Oct. I ride for pleasure and to get my motorcycling fix, I don't get that in the dark and rain and freezing cold.
  2. Good to see one of my star riders get a seat for next year. As it tightens up at the top of the leader board, could be an exciting end to the season as they all head off to Indonesia..
  3. Hi, are your current tyres worn out? Or just losing a bit of pressure? The outside temperature dropping and warming up in the day time loses pressure from your tyres, it could be that if both tyres are losing only a little bit. It is that time of year. If they are worn out (down to wear markers) and need replacing you have lots of choice. For me I go for grip over longevity, I don't do thousands of miles so don't mind paying for that. A quick search gives loads of choices of top tyres for around the £320 mark, to buy. If you add fitting it will be more of course. Taking your own wheels out will make it a tad cheaper. Look out for mobile bike tyre services wherever you live.
  4. Anything above 60 you'll feel the wind on a naked, I use a generic Puig screen that attaches to the bars. Keeps the main blast off you, much more comfortable. Sat navs are ok for the last little bit of a journey to home in on your hot tub, or as a guide to distance, but blindly following them is not recommended. Have a look at a map and break the journey into sections. I'll follow that A road there for 20 miles, or cut across that B road there sort of thing. Motorways are great for covering distance in a shorter time (in theory) But ultimately boring. Get a tail pack or a tank bag or something similar. I never use a backpack for anything more than the shortest journey, they make you ache too much. Sounds like you are finding this all out yourself anyway, have fun, enjoy!
  5. I bet if you had a Haynes type manual the removal/ installation process is pretty simple. It's the not quite knowing bit that frustrates. I bet you have the the wheel out in half an hour or less, providing your fasteners are all good. Good luck!
  6. Love all the solar power stuff, I'm going to power our summer shed eventually for lights and phone charging etc, a south facing roof somewhere around the 30' angle it gets plenty of sun, when it's out. For the bike I use one of the Oxford ones, kept my XSR battery well alive since 2016 (yes I know I'm tempting fate) Same sort of angle in a skylight, south facing. Highly recommended. https://www.sportsbikeshop.co.uk/motorcycle_parts/content_prod/206242
  7. I use the same thing. On the XSR though I have to remove the ABS sensor first else it gets in the way, only one bolt.
  8. Hi and welcome. Motorcycles are cheaper to purchase in the winter when folks don't use them, especially around Christmas when folks spend too much money on tat, and even more so when they get their credit card bills in January. As a side note not sure if this is possible but if you can insure a ghost 50cc it could build up your no claims, goes a long way as a new user. The morality people may have something to say on that issue.
  9. Stoner Rock.. never been a big fan of musical genres but it turns out I have a fair bit of stoner rock...
  10. Welcome, chap over the road from me had one of those, good bike. He did have a little job with the exhaust I seem to remember, some convoluted collection box thing going on. Good bikes though you should have fun playing with that.
  11. I also noticed a Aprilia forum while having a quick look, maybe worth looking there if not already on it.
  12. I had a Yamaha FZR600 which had this weird non starting issue. Most of the time it started on the button but every now and again it would just turn over and over and not start. Did my head in for ages looking at this and that, though I never tried bumping it. Anyway in the end it was a wire to the generator where it went between the cases had just rubbed through. You couldn't see it until I took it off for a close up look, it must of shorted it out but only now and again. Go through every wire to check the condition would be my advice, I know it's a ball ache but that's how I found that one for me. Good luck.
  13. Just tell them what you want to pay, what you feel it's worth, be polite, and tell them why, but if you can't agree move on. You are going to have to put your hand in your pocket at some time. Or wait until the dead of winter when folks are feeling the squeeze.
  14. Morning, A couple of pics from yesterdays Sleaford Classic Car and Bike Show. Whenever we go to these, we do this thing where we pick a bike and a car that we'd have. The missis quite liked the LC but I'd prefer a more standard bike, so went for the Kawasaki 400 just a couple of bikes further on. KH or S3, who knows? In the car section I fancied ragging the Renault Alpine about while the wife went for the Volvo parked next door.
  15. Saw a Sparrowhawk take down a pigeon last week, when it got it on the ground it abandoned it when a dog started barking. Then a little black cat appeared and dragged it off into a hedge. Nature at work.
  16. What is this talk of a calendar?
  17. Welcome, sounds like some clamps are missing..
  18. Aaar.. Just had a look, it was Jack Miller for me. Who's idea was it to pick him? Bloke needs throwing out shouldn't be racing.. Blah blah grumble mumble..
  19. Looks like a pidgeon for sure!
  20. Seems to take them an age to update the points on the Motogp site. It is different again from the above scores. Now idea at all how they work out the scoring, every time I think I have an clue.. I don't! Still, roll on Italy.
  21. Bad weekend for Pecco having been tag teamed by the Marquez boys. I would have boosted any Spanish rider in a Spanish round myself, home track and all that. The oversea overseas races are a little too unpredictable for me with the weather and heat etc. You can't boost 3 times in the last race. Can you? There's always Italy of course in the next 2 races. All to play for in Fantasy League..
  22. Anywhere around the seaside is a bit of a traffic jam. We went in the camper so just park up and walk, or get the bus on the £2 fare and look out of the window.
  23. Just got back from a week in Cromer, well East Runton. Great weather!
  24. Wow, doom and gloom there. Many, many, years ago, (yes it's one of those stories) when they were constructing the Lincoln bypass around the Birchwood, there were miles of cleared land and massive hills of dirt where the road was going. I swapped a Kawasaki KH250 for a KL250 single cylinder 4 stroke trail bike thing. It gave me hours of riding around the area up and down the moved earth piles. It was slow but dependable and still have happy memories of that bike today. Same bike as pic, not mine. Some years later I fancied a bit more off road action and got a Kawasaki KX420 single cylinder 2 stroke. Went like stink, proper hit of a power band and crazy fast. Because it was not road registered I could only take it out in the pick up and to places that allowed you to ride. You could easily get out of control on that. I ended up using it less and less and passed it on. Today, if I was you, I'd go for the electric thing you were looking at, they look like fun.
