  1. Agree with Tiggie. if first the contract allows early term release or payments and if the bank is open to what you want to do, it’s not unreasonable but depends on your circumstances. Even if early returns (most are 14-30 days) might impact your score and insurance costs, its a damn sight better and cheaper than paying the whole amount again to the leeches.
  2. Depends on the mc if it’s an open or closed circuit and if the lever was in or not. Well I suspect the hose has internal wear, spilts and circular wear of the hose to do that. old jellied fluid normally build up in the corners of caliper/mc etc.
  3. Well wording of 1 was selling via Amazon 1 was selling via eBay We test purchased 8 different types of aftermarket silencers from online selling platforms, none of which met the required regulations. Two were counterfeit products using well-known brand names. Over 700 listings and non-compliant products were removed from online selling platforms. So was that the two from platforms? Its great and shows they do something and I’m sure a lot of what they do and how costs a lot of money—equipment, mule vehicles etc. A lot of it there is very telling and shows with little looking how much crap or none compliance there is in all sorts of markets and businesses. but realistically if it wants to be helpful if it hasn’t removed the seller/products from circulation then it should list it.
  4. With that amount of interest of 100% which is beyond extortionate in its own right even if you had a terrible credit history for what is not a lot of money to buy an used motorbike these days. two ways it will be it’s over 5 or more years so the interest might not be very high but it’s dragged out that long it’s costing you? Your paying a load of fees and interest ontop of those fees to make it even worse? Example so even if it was over a year at 50% interest (which is very high but need to recoup something) you’d be paying average £1654 in interest, total £4954. over 3 yrs at 35% Pa which is 105%over term is £3468 interest, total of £6768. Which I’d say not competitive or reasonable in the slightest for its low amount so the risk is lower than say if you smack out at £20k bike, especially if it’s secured on the bike or something else but they set what they want to offer. I have a suspicion it’s more likely a garage/dealer has set this up with a lender provider, But more information would be great. i hope it’s contract/loan is secured to the bike at worse and not to anything worth while like a home or what not? Agree with the others, see what the contract says about early payments or ballon payments. Even if you can only do abit at a time it will help over the term. declaring yourself bankrupt is a absolute last resort. that will affect you for 5years at least, no bank, lender, provider will want to touch you for anything during that period at least and less than poke for a while after that and you’ll be worst than if you started from fresh with no history like you just left school. If you can get over this hurdle, least you have a bit of history and you might get better rates and offers later on. PS - read the contract fully and dont believe the dealers saying what your paying, I’ve known them (sales dealer) to cover up the figure that could be seen prior to a customer signing on the dotted line- dodgy.
  5. Typically "BMW Type 2" 11.5W fork oil. are 290ml L, and 682ml R Haynes manual indicated 304 ml for the left leg. 10w will be a good start but just be sure you get a good brand and what you want as brands of fork oils viscosity’s cst are not Standard, so for example castrol 10w might be more like Fuchs/silk 5w but a BMWs 15w. so stick to a 10w but note what it was then if it seems to soft or firm and you change setting to compensate and it’s still not you your liking then you might be better looking for a different brand. look up Peter verdone designs fork oil chart. So if you are within that range your ok.
  6. Maybe they never went to hospital or have a toddlers mind? from the sounds of it they dont want vehicles in there, assuming the ill and infirm will either walk or cycling in and if they do they will be able to because they will miraculously be 100% well after a short time there from the magical healing of the doctors and nurses…. Ahhh you forget the pedestrian is now the ruler of the roads, can do no wrong.
  7. I know and understand but is accountability and some worthy backed trailing record, so the DIY is still the same problem regardless.
  8. I thought that’s what most Americans do with businesses ?
  9. Which electric bike was that and what was the other one? I suspect the risk is even higher for the insurance for so many reasons, even what we might see as a cheaper spec, cheaper looking bike with many pit falls at a high cost that is too hard to overlook. it is the near future…. it might get easier/slightly cheaper at some point but that window is still far away.
  10. I agree no matter what mentally they think of themselves I have no problem with but would it be fair to others? Id say gov body may Call it ..”doctoring” and doping of the body to gain an advantage in competitive sports at best. totally ignoring any special decompensation changes. would it be correct or fair To go the other way? Women to change to men (it does happen) would it be fair to compete against men or even women still with hormone changes….not as simple nor fair as it seems. realistically there would have to be a different category of the sport and rules like paraplegic or disability does. nothing wrong with that and it would be fair, to be honest for me is more worthy, wholesome and humbling to watch these people do it.
  11. Agree with all. if dealer/garage has done all the jobs to it it’s full dealer service. as long as you can prove it had the invoices relating to the service you have done to it it’s a full service with accordance to but only if you have done EVERYTHING (or more) as the book requires….like change pipes etc when required at X yr and X miles as a lot of people don’t bother with that so it’s not following the book. If that is so you could just say great/good history, with loads of receipts and history. Most people are happy about that and may inquire but let them know/see for themselves. that’s the way id do it anyways the other of doing your own work to it is , how much a buyer is will to trust your work? worded as 4 previous owners, or 5 current owners.
  12. So for giggles why don’t we all put ourselves in as you being a 19/21 year old again, for the same bike you have now or its newest equivalent with 0 or 1 yr ncb, few years of experience on a car (if applicable) with the same stats as the bike, not as nice area, not garaged, etc so your back to square one. be interesting to see what the difference is.
  13. Don’t mess with mixture yet. Slides generally don’t use vacuum to operate, either natural contact friction or its on roller bearings to control the slide /inlet, so it its holding its most likely that sticking or from the cables/adjuster/mount. japs had a very logical thing for these, might be something like 1turn out from closed or three turns back.
  14. Ive not looked at the thing properly because it’s another load of bs. the thing I wonder if the reasons of the two different answers from Stu and Steve m is the info or at least the interpretation of the question? to be honest I thing there is much bigger and worst fry should be sorted out like (content creators, posters , general people) on FB,X,YT….
  15. You can get many upgraded versions of Halo’s which might just work of £10-30quid, how much better will depended on what’s it’s using already and how old it is? Things that don’t help is if the HL lens has yellowed or fog on it? Yes leds are not meant nor to be used in re flective headlight units like yours. they provide and emit their light in a totally different manner so to retro fit that bulb to it makes it an mot fail. Also you’d be recommended to notify your insurance of any HL unit changes, some may not bother, others may do. If you think that unit you have now is that bad then that cost is worth it as you’ll end up paying out way more to change the bike. if you want much more from it your gonna have to pay for it.
  16. Yep like:
  17. Sorry it messed up, see below
  18. I love it how all the hands visible and areas looks like they have been changed or covered up. the guy at the right back would be holding a rifle, to shoots him in the back if he doesn’t do it. front right with a long sword/spear or flame thrower. Left side over the corner had a hand gun…. when you see it you’ll never un see it.
  19. Unfortunately you didn’t follow the number one rule of motoring if you intend to use on the road- ALWAYS check you can get/afford the insurance before committing to changing/buying ANY VEHICLE. Anyway understandable you want to keep legit . Most of us here luckly aint in the same boat so unfortunately other than a google search so pin point direction will be few. Id try some brokers, localish ones that are general in their field, cars, homes, trades, businesses, homes, bikes can come up trumps. Might not be mega cheap so id expect some pain for you still but you keep very clean and super safe it might just get you on the ladder again.
  20. Went out to Sbs and Jand S to look at replacing my old textiles (especially the pants) as a present, afterwards go and see my brother and partner for a chat while they’re doing some casual work and look around the site so abit of a deadline. anyway didnt find any texts that fit me (certainly none that i felt comfortable buying). Daughter was casually trying out some helmets, she has been on the back of the benelli numerous times a couple of years ago, but not been on since especially having out grown the clothes and helmet even though it was a medium/large will not fit her now. not showed much interest on being back on the bike since very recently. while im going through the tests of fitting as you do…sales guy comes over and suddenly starts giving the spiel on fitting helmets…I”ll cut it short by saying with the advice given it would be already too loose, let alone with the padding to soften/shrink with a few uses. With these helmets they had little if no try’s on as they were 2024’ ladies at most so not had hundreds of try’s on before hand to wear them down. without hardly any force helmets was moving over or very close the eyes up and down, with quite some twisting notice, risk of one of the helmets strap to dig into the neck, i think it was a givi or caberg which are known for). Grudgingly he accepted different makes and models of helmets have different shell shapes and quotes sizes for between them all. Even he admitted of after buying and a collection of 15-20 helmets he bought one where the chin strap was on the of very edge of the chin….need I say more.we didnt buy it as the wife knew how it should fit too (she wasn’t convinced with it too). we weren’t intending to buy a helmet, and the wife less keen so we would do it again another day as we was pressed to time. So well over an hour drive and what ever time spent there was a waste. anyway to carry on with the woes, the place name we was meeting at was 30odd mins away but getting out of the city was a night mare because the sat nav’s kept getting muddled up with taken us well over half and hour to get out and we was hungry. after food, the place we went to was very nice (very expensive and upper class stately homes Cotswold types) seeing including 40+ hunting horse riders along the one lane road we came across pretty much confirmed it. worked out it wasn’t the same as they were at, found out the two places that share the same name are over an hour and a half apart…we would miss them anyway, so we just went home as we had tea with the mother and hour or so after as planned. a very long day, spent mostly in the car, trying to get out of a city I absolutely hate the road network of ,spent seeing upper class leisure activities and living all the while could of done what we wanted still if we went to the other place all for nothing.
  21. Thanks. what I would do with a couple of weeks before yourll want to commit to using it is to take the e10 pipe out. measure the internal, outer, length, firmness/squash and bend test and to see if any changes from the uv and control pieces. if none leave it out in the air with the UV one for a week of two and test again especially the firmness/squash and bend test. This will test if its been chemically dried out which is where you get cracks and splits. If all mint then at least you can say with good confidence it’s gonna last at least a year or two at least for little cost and loads of pipe to see the bike and the next one out.
  22. Well at least being on here we and the paying audience scan’t smell you. . Hope you get to the route of it soon.
  23. So if your bike gets stolen or damaged while it’s on a trailer transported by you, more than likely you’ll have to claim off the bikes policy. Unless your car/van has goods or vehicle transportation cover…which can start to get expensive and restricted. similar if you run a transport/ repair/ garage/ race setup. if you intend to do it very regularly and with costly bikes it’s not so bad.
