  1. Brake/chain cleaner. straight strong paraffin (industrial) can attack some grades of rubbers over a period but can leave a protective film/be effective while white spirits are quite good but to some exceptions not quite as good for cleaning certain things while can speed out drying out. Isopropyl is very good with nearly everything. to be honest and mixture of all three will good a amicable job while not screwing over what your trying to accomplish.
  2. Its probably been recycled to some other random piece of **** for more serviceable use now .
  3. As tinker says. Clean and I mean clean! the pads, pistons and caliper, smear(!!!) of hi temp or copper grease to back of the pad.
  4. Fork oil change, bit rushed with a bit of guesstimate but miles better than the Hagon setup suggested, for me happier riding now .
  5. Share the wealth with you….
  6. Socks are a fave but just old clothing is just a good (natural fabrics are best) especially if you have family growing up so supply is regular. works well on cleaning up wheels, wiping grease and oil, recycle.
  7. Goes to show how terrible their lane discipline and un attentive they were.
  8. If you want that bike in the colour you want, with those few miles on in immaculate condition while at £1000 pounds less with a reputable manufacturers dealer that supplied the bike its definitely worth it over buying new.
  9. . most of the time the pumps are not the lowest part of the tank so even if the pump can’t draw anymore out more often than not there is still a litre or so (depending on tank design) of fuel or shite sat at the bottom waiting for you. unfortunately your just unlucky/missed the preventative maintenance point with it. Just strip, clean and reset the carbs then all will be well in the world again. trying to clean injectors are a pain in the arse as the method used is very different, not always successful and costly to replace.
  10. 600-800cc bmw.
  11. What the tank drain before or after the Seafoam? All mostly is in sea foam is isopropanol (alcohol cleaner) and hydrocarbons. Not sure what happens exactly to Seafoam when it’s added to fuel but if it’s got water in there it’s not gonna be keen mixing in with it or even help burn it off as it’s insoluble to water… wondering if you have a cap sealant problem and water/moisture is getting in the tank easily so it’s getting cloudy(water in the fuel) and that’s partly what’s clogging it up? Just a thought.
  12. No the cats are too big, lol. Nope, no sign of them plus yes rats and mice and squeeze and run along into really tight spaces if they want too.
  13. With the design that the metal worker used, it has a few cm gap off the wall, up to 5cm off from the ground all way around with threaded feet, small gap for the pivot point running down on the front. Its a good compromise.
  14. Funny that. We have one pretty much identical to that, but this one isn’t as amusing for pitbox small games. maybe the previous owner has done some work to it? its done as what was asked and nothing has jump ship to date.
  15. Welcome, a picture of all the plugs and order in the cylinder (shows the colour of tanning and condition) may help. Phils suggestion isn’t too far from the realms of possibility but still a very off chance. e5 and e10 have different burn characteristics but for your bike with old rubbers id be putting e5 just for the old timers sake. Personally id be checking the stator and rectifier.
  16. It will be if you lower it, ud want to fabricate and shorter side stand.
  17. If it’s designed correctly include opening it gets a 1999-2005 600cc gsxr and paddock stand in with ease all the while the roof is still lower than the kitchen/dining room window sill. owner only washes it after every ride during spring/summer. Every winter just cleans and service it and for its age it’s in very good condition.

    Hello

    Hi!
  19. Hi and welcome back to two wheels. neighbour had a local sheet metal workshop / fabricator make a simple enough very large lockable….sort of large cabinet, four sides (fixed left side, lift up top for full locking mechanism, open out right and front thats not much bigger or taller than the bike. The far side is not needed as he uses the wall of the house as a side while lightly bolted to the wall, been there for well over 18yrs with No maintenance or scum snooping as it doesn’t shout bike storage.
  20. Don’t worry about a few weeks of mot, most actual buyers aint flippant for things like that. if it’s advertised correctly, priced keenly for its condition and history it will sell quickly. good luck.
  21. Wife test drove and ordered new car. it bings and bongs about everything seen/ not seen/ thinks and cannot think of all in the name of EU “safety”. To me all it does is distracts me from driving, it reminds me of over bearing HAL ready to bollock or kill me…
  22. Agree with everyone especially Husoi
  23. Hi and welcome.
  24. Happy to donate but more options of how to pay would be beneficial.
