  1. sorry didn't recognise it.
  2. the arrows are correct. dont turn them!
  3. Hi. its great that your really taking on the research side. watch some youtube vids on cbt and correct driving habits to have a better idea. cbt doesnt teach you everything as such thats for you , a lot of learning will be before/after that while your on your own or if you decide you need more tutoring from the school at extra cost. so to ask the last one- yes.
  4. yep they should be the same but looks like the plain one on top (with the groove) is original or at least the closes to the correct one, the other is not. not to say it wont do the job, just they will be visually and potentially behave slightly differently but these are old school forks so alot needs to be different to be noticeable, depending on the inside machining and dimensions might be just the same. ohhh or have they fitted the santion the wrong way round?
  5. cool! hmmm, who is responsible for this good service?
  6. 1) either a poorly executed U turn or they weren't paying attention along a arrow straight road thats for sure. 2) he sure did by stopping, laughed, took the pic, laughed some more, set off and giggled all the way home. thats a big pick up to pull it out worth "see youtube fails" / tractor "pay the farmer" / recovery vehicle "keep some in a job". they"ll be lucky if its only abit of lower body work damage.
  7. to a point insurance would go down if you dont claim on it for NCD, but if you do keep repeating cbts for so long rather than getting a full licence for a category many insurances will less likely give you a competitive quote especially if you young male living in a high risk area etc. you could just get a lower cc bike license and be happy with that, nowt wrong there.
  8. work in parts of an very old factory that have leaky areas/hot/cold/damp and old machines older than me that draw way more power than what you have there that dont do that....just saying something isnt right.
  9. some have a clause (small print) that says x days over a x period that you will not be going back over the waters (away from home land) for that reason so you'd have to check what you agreed for. they can ask questions and truthfully you should answer them, how much of that truth you wish to share is on you. now it would be chicken and egg they would have to prove you were over the condition you sighed up for if they suspected foul play but then they would say that if you cant prove/provide that you didnt they wont pay out, id more likly assume that they would ask afterwards and chase you up afterwards through courts (depending on how much they paid out). sounds like you need mostly you as the insurance and the bike is a plus so maybe try that some travel insurances have add ons for vehicles. id chat to brokers (locally) and get them to chase it up their fee will be very small but they'll have a good idea who to look and chat too on your behalf.
  10. had to double take the date stamp, looks very much similar ,maybe a touch slimmer than a kawa z1000 from 2011 onwards.
  11. might be good to self teach with help of youtube vids as guides.
  12. if their that old that the foam is disintegrating then thats a good indication that its past its best and i wouldnt wear or sell them on. what brand? speak to the manufacturer for spares. if you are really struggling an upholstered is a off chance.
  13. Hello and welcome.
  14. thats a lot of thick crusty rust including the earths....
  15. thats what happens when your on the neutral side every body hates you and doesn't trust as you dont know what to expect. water leak as first level notice the very bad rusting on the screws and corroded so badly that its shortened/build up too much resistance?
  16. far to tame for my liking nick , unless your referring directly to the McD .
  17. Agree with you there MB, theyll just assume you're going tobe using a paddock stand. some bikes have passageways which ideally would need extra plugs for access and cleaning. not the best design with a "n" shaped bottom end hence the need for two plugs at either end partially with the front one quite high up...
  18. if the seals are worn (sagged), nicked or out of place when a vacuum/ draw it can pull and cover the exit area including diaphragms, seals, pipes and taps.
  19. wish wifes/hubands/selfs did that with al the bloody lycra and landy disco muppets around my area.
  20. no side stand? or do you mean centre stand?
  21. what year is the bike? so much for Hus dealer knowing about the products they sell and maintain!!!! sometimes low quantity, top specs (unique) individual parts have draw backs. if your bike is still under warranty its not your problem as they will have to claim of hus main central, ive heard of foreign regions not accepting claims or trying there luck but its incredibly rare. if just out of warranty you may be-able to get them to go half or most of the way with the cost? as a gesture of good will. other than that if you do decide to keep the bike and it keeps leaking it may well be worth check out an independent suspension specialist for more durable seals/parts. Fleck. tut tut.
  22. depends on the washer, sump, condition and who did it last time so most of the time i just change it every time as i have little time nor agro to do the job twice just because of the washer want to be defiant the first time round. being pedantic: more metal gets wasted/lost/binnned from brake dust, screws, parts, bolts and bobs off vehicles/loads every year than a washer unless of course your in the very specific position like Tinker says, though i think they should all be reused/recycled when ever possible regardless. the triumph i had before the oil filter and the sump plug mounted (i think was pointing down?) on the cast sump pointing to the floor shrouded for protection thought they might as well as just used the OF as a one item did both of drain/seal and filter. if more vehicles went down the sealed sump route (bmw/mini for example) where oil is sucked out, no wasted metal and less leaks to worry about plus longer service intervals through better oils benefits for everyone apart from the dealership (capped to yearly to keep them interested) and the odd 3rd party chinese supply, as usual the bike world is way behind and very slow even with the great resources of big multiple vehicles sectors at their disposal, bmw, suzuki, arguably kawasaki etc.
  23. Bring back the big tail sections!!!
  24. Save it for another day/weekend when you can? if its warranty sensitive go up to a thousand miles is ok (unless its first change then its a few hundred miles). No real harm though just slower, less oil and the heavier particles to probably come out (some more old oil will be still in) and more effort with the plug/filter. the bike doesnt need to be hot hot or fan kicks in temp, just a hand touch warm on the sump or lower cases is more than enough. but then you really need to start the bike up to flow the oil around and check the level after filling up anyway. also theoretically the torque settings (if you decide to use them?) might differ but thats getting picky.
