Hoggs Posted February 17, 2016 Posted February 17, 2016 *childish giggling* I love how there is a business called Sensible Staffing in Cockfosters. I imagine the interview is just getting the candidate to read out the company address and if they don't laugh they are hired. Quote
Arwen Posted February 17, 2016 Posted February 17, 2016 Almost like working at the Dick Institute in Kilmarnock, "take the turning for Dick Road and follow it right to the end, the Dick Institute will be on your right" Teeheh Quote

When me and my friends went to London I became the victim of this joke...We have a Longbutt lane nearby. Not as funny as a chap who lives on it, his surname is "Longman" and he's a fully grown man at 5 foot 2. Not that I have a problem with short men at all, just that was irony, and an English man passing on an ironic joke is just not cricket I'm afraid. Quote

Grumpy Old Git Posted February 23, 2016 Posted February 23, 2016 we have a road around the corner from ours and its not particularly funny its called "Bell Road". My 11 year old brain can't help but laugh and shout bell end road every time we drive by it. it's the simple things. To the east end of the Village I live in was a pub called 'the bell' now a private house called 'Bell House' (wait for it).To the South end is a Bridge. To the West there is nowt but fields. The village shape formas a flat topped triangle so there is no real North end as such.So we had:West End (the street here is still named that).Bridge End (Adjacent to Bridge End House). And (yes you guessed it) Bell End.The council actually put up a street name sign for the new development at the east side of the village which bodly proclaimed that the new cul-de-sac was located on 'Bell End'. This lasted approximately 4 months before being re-named 'BellClose'. Quote
