I wouldnt go that low unless you lived in a really cold region with big boxer engines.

if your gonna be using it warm spring/summer use only with towns, Stick with 50 especially as it has a fairing.

a compromise is 15w50.

normal 50s (semis) are not much more or if less than the fully synth 40s which is what you’d be doing if you really wanted to but really I wouldn’t! want to look after the engine stick to 20wt50, Even the 500leoncino had 10-15w 50.

its not always the heat but how a big twin is different behaviour as it sheers and pluses differently to inline 4, got to look after the bearings, lobes  etc

Not currently as I can't find one suitable

Although you don't have to worry about that with it been a dry clutch

Why not look at Smith and Allen oils? You can get 25 litres for a very reasonable price

I know, I was just having a bit of fun.

25 litres is a big commitment - that's a good few years of riding. I've heard the clutch splines wear out if you don't lube them (which I have little intention of doing) so it's a bit of a gamble as to whether the thing will last that long.

Radio control cruising yacht. An old Vic Smeed design.

Nice.

I've got this tug in my garage that my father-in-law didn't quite finish:

He was only at it for 40 odd years. 😀 I've got boxes of stuff to finish it but having built a couple of dozen rc cars / boats / planes and such, I don't really have the enthusiasm to take on an incomplete scratch build.

Perfect time to crack open a beer, or nice crisp wine.

Someone would finish it. Maybe there's a local model club?

Nice one @Fozzie

My old line manager used to offer a service whereby at bonus time he'd provide a copy of the figures, artificially lowered, for the benefit of wives and partners.

Thanks, my day to day will luckily not change too much for now as I'd been filling a lot of the roles duties for several months.

The main change is I will be shifting away from design work, and getting more into the pure engineering side of things. And also setting the strategy we follow in going for projects. It's been really eye opening to see on some jobs we've gone in with our eyes effectively closed, bidding on stuff with no way to know whether the solution that has been priced can even be connected to the grid.

And I've already developed a strategy that will set us apart from our competitors. Can't publicly share details but they all make a common mistake in how they size systems, especially solar. And it has an easy fix that would let us go back to a client with a more realistic set of options. With a little technical presentation, I think I can undermine our competitors by showing their "better" system is likely a promise they have no realistic way of delivering.

You're probably right. I need to get my finger out of my sphincter and get on with it.

Congratulations on your promotion @Fozzie.

So you’ve gone from having a tug in the garage to fingering your sphincter 🤣🤣
