fastbob Posted January 31, 2021 Author Posted January 31, 2021 Ordered a new one complete with the rubber for £38 . Pattern British Bike stuff is surprisingly inexpensive . 1 Quote

fastbob Posted February 7, 2021 Author Posted February 7, 2021 It's alive ! I've had it running for a couple of minutes . Of course as soon as I set up my camera it refused to start . The owner and his brother are coming round later so any chances of a repeat performance are practically nil . Everybody knows that a Kickstarter bike cannot be started when someone is watching . 4 3 Quote
fastbob Posted February 9, 2021 Author Posted February 9, 2021 I've had a hell of a job eliminating all the leaks from the Amal Monoblock carburettor . Looking at it , it occurs to me that it was never a very good design . Look at that ridiculously thin jointing surface on the Float Chamber . That's just asking for trouble . Given that they are still making them , it baffles me that they don't add a few improvements that retain the same external appearance for the Restoration Brigade . Quote
fastbob Posted February 13, 2021 Author Posted February 13, 2021 All set up for another attempt at getting it running and keeping it running . 2 Quote

fastbob Posted February 14, 2021 Author Posted February 14, 2021 (edited) So that's more or less it then . Just done a last nut and bolt check , zip tied a few untidy wires and given it a wipe with an oily rag . I think I'll have a cautious little TRUNDLE round the block on it before it's nothing but a memory and a load of oil stains on the garage floor . Edited February 15, 2021 by fastbob 6 Quote
