S-Westerly Posted April 14, 2021 Posted April 14, 2021 I'm all for DIY provided it's not me doing it as I effing detest it. I can be driven to painting with whips and chains but beyond that I will not go. 2 1 Quote

Not that I would when I was driving anyway . I was going to suggest the Castle pub on Edge Hill but it looks like the garden has been turned into an outdoor restaurant with booking required . Shame . There's the Wharf near Fenny Compton . Never actually been there but it has a garden and carpark . If there's anything nearer your way I don't mind putting in the miles . I will have a look on google maps sometime over the next day or so. This Saturday is out as I am travelling down to Dorchester to see how my Dad is getting on. Hopefully arrange something for very soon, I seem to remember a canalside pub near the A5 North of Weedon if you fancy it? (Not far from the Super Sausage cafe if you prefer?) Cheers Ian 1 Quote

Ian Frog Posted April 16, 2021 Posted April 16, 2021 Agreed ! Thanks @Bianco2564 Don`t suppose you know if they have a garden ? Agreed the run from Southam is nice especially as you rise up to Staverton where that garage opposite the pub always looks picture postcard old fashioned to me. Cheers Ian Quote

These days the price of projects has gone too high. I bought these 2 this week, EBAY, £200 the pair. Will make one good bike and leave a pile of spares for the next one. I’ve rebuilt lots of MZ’s and their a simple but sturdy bike, cheap for parts and teach all the basics of rebuilding a motorbike for use, not as a toy ... oily rag restorations me ... 3 Quote

Ian Frog Posted April 16, 2021 Posted April 16, 2021 Yes I seem to remember a few bikes in there back in 2009 ish when I used to go across to Herefordshire a lot. Cheers Ian Quote

Thanks for the suggestion. I have usually looked for old Honda's to be honest. Maybe I need to dip my toe into MZ territory. It would probably do quite well for my usual work riding round rural areas. Quote

Cheers Ian You are welcome, had a few meals there. They have a few tables next to the canal, would expect it busy at the weekend's so choose your time. This is also next to the canal in Braunston. https://www.admiralnelsonbraunston.co.uk/ 1 Quote
