Hey does anyone know about this. So my daughter has bought a flat. There is a space exactly wide for a washing machine. Now I reckon all washing machine shake around and need some space?  But they all seem to say they are 60cm wide. Will they fit?  Will they work?  Dad asking

If its 600 it will fit,  will it be snug yup,  I always allow a bit extra  when fitting kitchen units,  our built in one has a good gap either side although door fits fine against other units,  nothing worse than half the kitchen rattling when it's on spin 😂

Will the washing machine not shake around and cause problems?  I think this is going to be very tight fit.

Modern washing machines don’t shake around. It’s the drum inside that can do this if the machine hasn’t been loaded properly. Not many machines that can cope with spinning a single bath sheet, for example as the balance will be out of whack. Tell her to  get a machine with an induction motor.

I'll 2nd that I have an LG one it doesn't move at all so should be fine as I believe 60 is standard size

It will fit, but they are usually a bugger to get in and out when the gap is exactly 600mm.

Dad here who is the first response for two daughters.

The best yet is being called out when the exhaust fell off one of their cars. I got there, lying under the car in the pouring rain with a bit of wire, look up.....and there across the road is an exhaust centre.

You should be fine although it says 600mm most machines are 595mm, hopefully the machine will be on a solid floor just make sure the feet are adjusted so it doesnt shake. As others have said be careful with large single items as they cause inbalance and shake. Tip for getting machines in and out wipe floor directly behind the feet wheels of the machine with a solution of washing up liquid to make machine slide easier especially on lino floors. Try and route the hoses behind so they are not tangled and run freely. One thing to watch for if the waste is connected under the sink on a spigot on the sink U bend check that the usually blue plastic plug has been removed from inside the spigot as I have lost count of how many times I was called to a job that the machine would not drain only to find the bung is still in place.

Stick a couple of these under the back feet - it makes it so much easier to pull it back out by just taking the weight off the front of the machine.

Just thought I would update this to say washing machine is now fitted. Extraordinarily tight fit. … but the machine is unbelievably quiet and no vibration … I’m genuinely amazed how much these things have improved since I last bought one about five years ago.

Oddly enough, my old washer died last weekend and (thanks to John Lewis) it’s replacement arrived Christmas Eve. I went for a Siemens. With 5 year p&l warranty.

They are well built but bloody dodgy software.

it's a washing machine not a computer 🤔

Then why does a 5 1/4  inch floppy disk fit so well in that drawer on them then?
