Popular Post veracocha Posted November 26, 2022 Popular Post Posted November 26, 2022 It's a fantastic feeling taking a new bike out having just passed my test; a world away from my 125 which I loved. A bit nervous but within an hour you realise your training has stayed with you and got you where you are. Had one worrying moment when I hit some mud on the road down a country lane otherwise just a great feeling flowing through the Worcestershire countryside. Took in two motorway junctions, felt no different than when in my car so will make my way to Motorcycle live again tomorrow only this time on my bike. Great day. 14 Quote
Throttled Posted November 26, 2022 Posted November 26, 2022 My first solo ride was taking my YBR 125 I had just bought, after passing my CBT a week earlier, home. I hated it & seriously thought, what have a done. The next day was different and as you say, the nerves go and the training kicks in. 2 Quote
Gerontious Posted November 26, 2022 Posted November 26, 2022 What bike did you go for as your first, with a full licence? Quote

Mine was just after my CBT bought a bike just under 20 miles away. However the first 5-10 where through Southampton at the start of rush hour. Again a WTF have I done moment. Stopped just outside the city as I forgot to tax it, from there on in I enjoyed the rest of the ride. It was a long time until I rode in Southampton again. 2 Quote

I bought it two months ago and it's been agonizing just looking at it in my rear garden unable to ride it. I went for a CF Moto 650MT. Very much a budget bike but nevertheless a great entry into the larger capacity machines. 2 Quote
hawkeye Posted November 29, 2022 Posted November 29, 2022 I remember my first ride after taking my test, that was around 1965. I managed to lose the examiner somehow, but passed. You ride safe mate 1 1 Quote

Fish Posted December 2, 2022 Posted December 2, 2022 My first solo ride, was collecting the bike from the stealers and getting onto the A2 (70mph 3 lane road), all whilst trying not to either over rev a new engine or keep the revs in a certain zone for too long or having too much load on it. 1 Quote
Fleck Posted December 3, 2022 Posted December 3, 2022 Can't remember my first ride in 1994 it was a ZXR400 though. 1 Quote
