Well aware of it, I only allowed the thread as I knew how much disappointment it would bring for them 1

jodieKti2 Posted May 15 Posted May 15 You think you've got it bad ? I live next to a field of cows and you should hear the noise those buggers make. Bloody cows, coming into our countryside to disrupt the peace and quite. And don't get me started on when shooting season starts! God it sounds like WW3 has started. Country folk really are noisy all the time. 1 4 1

Fender1515 Posted May 16 Posted May 16 I owned a Narrow boat for 7 years, great experience, life style, I didn't live on it permanently, cruised for several months a year, very happy days. So the noise thing was the flock of Canadian geese that bombed the marina at 5am very morning, I can sleep through most noisy stuff, weather it it the pitch or the volume of their squawking I don't know, solution, we should eat more geese!! 1

Fish Posted May 16 Posted May 16 City folk moving to the countryside then complain about countryside noises that have been there long before they was, bit like those that move next to racing circuits, pubs/clubs then complain about the noise.

Plenty of tree and hedges between me and the road, but at this time of year I’m forced to endure the noise of sport motorbikes and choppers tearing up and down the main road and nearby roundabout leading to the motorway - some of them no doubt are racing around just for ‘fun’ and not even getting from A to B. My house has double glazing, but the sound gets in. It’s pretty much all day long, but especially bad at the weekend. Sometimes I’m woken in the early hours and have sympathy for those living nearer the road. So…motorcyclists. Whats your opinion of this? I can’t help but think that an inconsiderate minority should not be allowed to disrupt the peace in this way. There are plenty of studies showing that road noise is prejudicial to health (it certainly stresses me out), so any argument that ‘loud bikes are seen bikes’ seems not to take into account the hundreds, if not thousands of people negatively affected by the noise. Risk your own necks by all means, but stop disturbing residents who just want a bit of peace and quiet. Soz.

Tinkicker Posted May 16 Posted May 16 I once tasted a bee wearing an open face helmet. Not as a matter of choice...
Bender Posted May 16 Posted May 16 Right it's safe to say non of us like unnecessarily noisy bikes, we all love butterflies and there has been not one mention of custard creams so it's run it's course. 4
