  1. I'd be inclined to go west. Use the old A40 out to the Cotswolds, quite a straight route, but then you have the glorious ride up the middle of Wales.
  2. I'm assuming that, at that price, Bennetts were going to have someone stand guard over the bike each night......
  3. Welcome to the forum
  4. Steal her, she's a keeper.....
  5. What a fantastic read, along with some excellent photo's.
  6. Feckin' Nora!! I'd say your RCD's aren't doing their job. Is it that 4" nail you've put in place of the fuse?
  7. I used the side stand, then sat on it to hold it upright for a few minutes, just to let a little more trickle out. The centre stand would only be in the way of the drain pan.
  8. I went out for a couple of hours, but it was shortened to less than 20 minutes. All I did was change the oil..... Errrrmmm, I'd also left the fuel tap on for a week, and it now runs at low rev's like it's only firing on two bloody cylinders , then it konks out. However, it still managed to scream up to a ton when I cranked it open. Gonna have to strip those carb's.
  9. I watched a couple of YouTube vid's, and neither of them drained from two plugs, but when I looked at the handbook (afterwards ) it showed to drain from two plugs, and sure enough, when I looked at the bike, there they were. Weirdly, one manual only mentions one plug, but this one says two.
  10. Well, all is good, although I realised afterwards that I should have removed 2 drain plugs No torque wrench used, just "pretty tight". Ran it until the temp gauge lifted, left it for a couple of days, and no leaks. Going out for a couple of hours ride tonight.
  11. That looks savage, like something from Mad Max... Well done though, good thinking.
  12. Having followed the restorations, that's so good to read.
  13. Great looking machine, glorious shiny red bits. Congratulations
  14. Great review, thanks Kaz.
  15. That's great to read, well done.
  16. If the boots fit well and they're comfy, it's got to be worth your while moving the shifter down on it's spline (if it has one).
  17. As it happens, I've never replaced a washer that didn't need replacing. On this occasion though, the sump plug was so tight that when I finally got it off, it either didn't have a washer, or it's pressed so hard under the bolt flange that I can't remove it. I had already bought a new plug and washer
  18. So you're having a good time then Sounds like a great start to the day. Are you going to do this every day?
  19. Are you in the running GoG?
