  1. I bought a Knox Aegis a few years ago. The same day I bought it I had an unplanned dismount and slid backwards in to a metal post. Anyway, worth every penny as I was able to get up, kick my bike back together and ride home.
  2. Ooh, let us know what the impact driver is like - I'm bored of using effort to undo nuts and stuff.
  3. I saw the mega tool box/cabinet thing they had the other week - it felt like good quality stuff and was very keenly priced. Picked up loads of storage stuff the other week super cheap. Also heard they're doing an 18v impact tool for silly money.
  4. I'm lazy and seldom bother. My chain is now 10 years old.

  6. How did you get on with it Joe? I received my first delivery of DIY stuff yesterday so now my spare room looks more like Mengele's lab than an office! I made up a batch of Brightside Special and it smells pretty good. Bit of a sod you have to wait a couple of weeks to try it though. Also, I'm struggling to find a rip off of Elemental E-liquid Vanilla - anyone got any pointers?
  7. The problem with running a compressor is they need a load of power when they start up. Even a small one (1.5kW) will need a hefty genny to run it. If you were going solar you could use one of those 12v tyre pumps if that's all you want it for.
  8. Should be markings on the flywheel. You can always pop a long screwdriver down the spark plug hole to check. Silly question: are you sure you put the HT leads back the right way round? Edit: Beat me to it Steve!
  9. Have you thought about solar Steve? I put my system together for about £50. No buggering about with fuel or worrying about noise.
  10. So... Are you advertising it for sale?
  11. And have you still got her number ? She wasn't fussy. Probably why I put up with her for more than 7 mins. Yes Six, for some obscure reason I still remember it.
  12. Just get a repair kit for the original fuel tap. They're not expensive.
  13. You can wrap some insulating tape round the HT cables to lose the leak in the short term. It's a good enough check if it is the leads at fault and get you on the road for a bit.
  14. I dated a girl who was in to all that stuff - it was reiki this, spirit guide that, energy the other. She introduced me to a group of her friends who identified as various animals - there were eagles, wolves, owls etc. Not a single stoat or weevil. She was f**king mental.
  15. If you're changing the plugs it might be worth upgrading to NGK iridium. Mine was a slag to start until I fitted a set of those. Now it starts no problem and they last a lot longer than standard.
  16. I'd stick in a brake fluid change if you're looking at the brakes and the condition of the fork tubes for pitting or rust. Haynes manuals have a useful bit at the beginning about things to check and what clearances and such should be.
  17. I'd stick with the OEM size - fitting a wider tyre will make the profile more rounded and give you a smaller contact patch (as Stu said). It will also square off quicker.
  18. Yeah... that's exactly what I would have done.
  19. Shouldn't be bouncing down the road though Chris! I highly recommend Hyperpro if you want to upgrade.
  20. I know how you feel matey, I had the Sunday dreads for a while before I was made redundant earlier in the year. I got a new job doing very similar stuff to before but I do 4 days a week during term time (4.5 days/week average) so I can study engineering at my local uni. I lose a bit of cash from the 0.5 day and I'm self funding the course but the feeling that I'm getting out of something I'm hideously bored with and in to something that interests me is priceless. I looked at the OU but it worked out more expensive and took longer than doing residential. Oh, I'm 33 btw.
  21. PR4 or 3 are the bizzo. I'll stick up a thread at some point where I used them on a dampish track day.
  22. My money is for the lad being from Temple Smell.
  23. Congratulations bud!
  24. Put a dob of lipstick on the nubbin and press it on the bar where you want the switch gear to sit.
  25. Mmmm... Hula hoops...
