  1. I would say make your own choice re insurance, but report to Police. They might do nothing this time, although ranking some one repeatedly at traffic lights you would hire they would. Although if the guy did it regularly it would be recorded..
  2. All going to plan there will be 3 of us, Triumph Street Twin, Green triumph trophy (2 up) and a kwaker vulcan (black not green ) Say Hi if you spot us

As the owner of a lardy Triumph Trophy 1200 they are cracking bikes, can I ask have you joined the Facebook group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/TriumphTrophy/ Just don't describe it as a Lardy 1200... You might be able to buy or flog bits on here.... https://www.facebook.com/groups/TriumphTrophyServices/about/ They are a great source of knowledge about the bikes and issues...
  5. While riding my bike yesterday, I swerved to avoid hitting a deer, lost control and landed in a ditch, severely banging my head. Dazed and confused I crawled out of the ditch to the edge of the road when a shiny new convertible pulled up with a very beautiful woman who asked, "Are you okay?" As I looked up, I noticed she was wearing a low cut blouse with cleavage to die for... "I'm okay I think," I replied as I pulled myself up to the side of the car to get a closer look. She said, “Get in and I’ll take you home so I can clean and bandage that nasty scrape on your head.” "That's nice of you," I answered, "but I don't think my wife will like me doing that!" "Oh, come now, I’m a nurse," she insisted. "I need to see if you have any more scrapes and then treat them properly." Well, she was really pretty and very persuasive. Being sort of shaken and weak, I agreed, but repeated, "I'm sure my wife won't like this." We arrived at her place which was just few miles away and, after a couple of cold beers and the bandaging, I thanked her and said, "I feel a lot better, but I know my wife is going to be really upset so I'd better go now." "Don't be silly!" she said with a smile, while unbuttoning her blouse exposing the most beautiful set of boobs I’ve ever seen. "Stay for a while. She won't know anything. By the way, where is she?" "Still in the ditch with my bike, I guess."
  6. Stick one of these to your fairing.... No battery drain on the bike and makes a bit of a noise when they move the bike. Wireless Remote control Shock Vibration Sensor Alarm, for the price its a good start... https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Wireless-Remote-control-Shock-Vibration-Sensor-Alarm-For-Door-Window-Motorcycle/221996304759?epid=1290648238&hash=item33b002c977:g:wxEAAOSw-zxWmatt

  8. Its a Yammy I have 2 the ignition locks go like that try either leaning the key forward or backwards, one way will easier. Actually I find its one way for steering lock and the other for ignition. I just think of it as extra security after my mate tried to start my bike and could not.... Other wise I have tried WD and Spray Grease, it helped for a bit until I learned the trick...
  9. Friday me I dropped my bike... Not certain how, I pushed it on the garage, started it picked me lid up and put me leg over and down she went. Must of kicked my side stand some how? Luckily minimal damage, scuffs and a cable tie on a hand guard...
  10. ITs fairly universal then brake before the bend, accelerate out of bend... Next comes to positioning, advanced riding says position for safety and vision racing lines are very different. For me on the road safety comes first then some bends you can see through enough to take a near racing line....
  11. If that's pretty much all you do have you could look at this or similar... I got a large magnetic tank bag for my Trophy that is great but will not fit on the TDM https://www.rydestore.com/ryde-magnetic-motorcycle-tank-bag-with-map-window.html I have used a couple of rucksacks as tail bags chest clip and waist belt on the pillion handles go the job, If you don't have pillion handles that's an issue as well... Cargo nets are cheap but a bit of PITA to be honest so I try and avoid using it to often. Its all personnel choice, it was my local mechanic that pointed it out to me, since then I have avoided rucksacks but then cannot say I don't do it ever...
  12. Motorcycle gear is designed to allow you to slide smoothly in event off unplanned dismount ... anything on the exterior of these layers will create friction and disturb that flow and spin you about like being in a spin drier Is more concerned about the landing than the sliding, a little extra thickness on your back could give your neck one hell of a jolt. Then picture your keys a couple of pens and a can of cola. Correct me if I am wrong once sliding the priority is to stop sliding, before you hit anything not continue sliding as far as possible.
  13. OK I am not a believer in rucksacks if you do have an off it is unlikely to offer any protection in fact depending whats in the bag a can of baked bean badly pointed pen or keys could do some considerable damage. I still do it from time to time but really try and avoid it routinely... How about this instead? https://www.rydestore.com/ryde-large-rear-motorcycle-tail-bag.html

    Low sun

Other thought is if your blinded by the sun so are the cars behind, so assume they have not seen you.... Possibly more important is the sun is low and behind you the chance are the cars in front of you have not seen you... Ride safe...
  15. Or in english You feel the plug screw in by your fingers then it becomes to finger tight (6-8 turns?? or more give or take never counted) with socket spanner you can feel the "gasket compress" (½ - ⅔ turn more) as it gets harder to tighten, STOP IMMEDIATELY. Ok I might have gorilla grip but I tighten with ONE HAND thumb on top of socket, the other could be behind my back, not dissimilar to this position. https://www.wikihow.com/images/thumb/2/20/Tighten-a-Windshield-Wiper-Retaining-Nut-Step-4-Version-2.jpg/aid317347-v4-728px-Tighten-a-Windshield-Wiper-Retaining-Nut-Step-4-Version-2.jpg.webp
  16. Oil still clear not black not using oil, I would say unlikely to be rings on that low a milage. I would go with new spark plugs and Spraying electrics with WD40, if it runs on both cylinders it will burn off oil in cylinder... Is there a local bikers Facebook group you can use to find a mechanic?
  17. I came back to this post for this reason. I think that goes for male and female, if they have a hunch you know... At £3.00 a plug I would try to new ones see how it runs, check oil level/ colour and go from there. If she starts up smooth carefully open the oil filler and look for smoke.... Oil should not be getting in there this is true, but when was last time you checked BOTH plugs? Yes to my eye one is black and HEAVILY oiled but if it fires it might burn of carry on burning a LITTLE oil and save you a fortune.... If it all happens again you know you have a problem... This is worth a read.... https://www.ngkntk.co.uk/index.php/technical-centre/spark-plugs/fouling-range/
  18. Mine was "ouch ouch that sounds expensive, my misses will kill me": 1) For hurting the bike, 2) For the extra money, She nearly did kill me after it killed my phone so I sent her message, "had off I am fine, bike still rideable, going for ride to Culture cafe to cry into coffee".. She nearly killed me when I did not answer for 3 hours. I could not appease her with due to some help in the cafe the damage to the bike was not going to be THAT expensive
  19. FZ6 exhaust without that hole are all but silent, I have one I know... The is some where online a guide on how to drill an FZ6 exhaust to make a "Better" noise. Changing cans on FZ6s with under seat exhausts is not a cheap hobby and I have yet to see after market cans that look better that the OEM
  20. The cheap option... https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Universal-Motorcycle-Motorbike-Mobile-Phone-Mount-Holder-X-Grip-Clamp-USB-Charge/122715932838?hash=item1c927088a6:g:6VwAAOSwlf5Zwh-i
  21. Do you wear lycra? Do you block traffic? Do you take the law in to your own hands? Are you a knob? if the answer is yes to ANY then I'm afraid to say yes you are Fixed that for you.....
  22. I've been practising the past few days to circle myself and the bike with salt in case some demons would be around Elephant Castle So I've been sick due to some heavy rain here in London and I couldn't ride much. I haven't had that problem since I put some Redex in the tank and I also done about 80miles before I refilled the tank again but this time without the product. I notice that now the bike starts much faster than before but When the bike is cold it sputters a little for like 5 minutes and stops when it's warm. I do have more acceleration as well. These are the only changes that I've felt since I put Redex in the tank. Is that a good sign? I'm guessing that the sputter could be that there is still crap in the lines or the tank? I would still look to: 1) Syphon out all the petrol you can out of the tank, then you can see the state of the petrolin the tank... 2) Spray with WD40 - Never does any harm. 3) If you can find the drain screw for the carbs drain some fuel off through there as well. 4) Other thing I would do if confident is take it for a long run, like an hour or 2 preferably getting engine hot an italian tune up. All of these things are easy to do and none will do any harm. If you can find your air filter it never does any harm to look at it and see if it is clear...
  23. I do the same except if it's a long day I carry my waterproof winter gloves so if rain gets that bad I can change. Let's face it if it fits from nice to horrible and your getting cold your not going to argue with warm hands....
  24. I had thought I had big problem with a stinky helmet... I cleaned the liner and tried all sorts and it did smell better Febreze is quite good, probably kinder to liner than aftershave.... Then one day I realised it was no longer my Helmet that smelled but my Buff, neck tube or what ever you want to call it.. Put that through washing machine and happy days, smell reduced...
