  1. Remember ski gloves etc are not stitched to the abrasion force's of sliding along tarmac . Get some motorcycle based gloves as a minimum What area you in ...? Places like helmetcity have a clearance store in Chichester

  5. The Highways (Road Humps) Regulations 1999 4.5 The Highways (Road Humps) Regulations 1999 enable highway authorities to adopt a very flexible approach to the design of road humps. However, highway authorities must exercise a duty of care and should ensure that innovative designs do not compromise safety. 4.6 It should be noted that road humps cannot be installed on roads with speed limits greater than 30mph without special authorisation. To date no road hump design has been found suitable for use on roads with speed limits greater than 30mph
  6. From my knowledge this section still stands Road humps can only be constructed on roads which have a speed limit of 30mph or less, and have street lighting. Their construction and signing is regulated by the Department for Transport (DfT). There is a requirement to consult with the emergency services, organisations or groups representing people who use the road such as bus operators, other transport service providers and residents and traders of the street where the road humps are to be installed...

  11. Some abs systems can trap air in its actuators and can sometimes be purged by manual means or some systems need dealer reset diagnostics
  12. They tend to redo junctions/msrkings to try and make them less likely to cause accidents rather than better for the less enabled road user to fathom . And its not just car drivers who are ignorant to Advanced Techniques i would hazard a guess that 60 percent of motorbike riders have no idea and have that BMW HI VIS pipe and slippers view of it and how its no fun its 60(70)mph tops ...same as a car drivers view of advanced driving is the classic shuffle the wheel mentality. And good luck with it and main thing is relax and it comes a lot more second nature . A tip i still use is have a running commentary and list the hazards and where possible the action to deal with ... It gets even more annoying when its a bike that reacts like that when your enjoying a twisty Road at legalish speeds at a constant pace and their on your arse on the straights but bends they are too busy waggling their knees about they then end up goin past horn blaring and you then see them overtake on solid whites into oncoming traffic which is the rewarding part as their shite observations didn't notice it was a brightly coloured bmw who started an amazing disco show at his point of overtaking and that even one of the cars we had overtaken (legally) about 1/2 mile back was an unmarked audi who then had been making progress covertly afterwards .
  13. Not an instructor by any long shot this is my personal take on things But that is the advanced way as well if your safety is jeopardised by positioning for view be it a manhole , debris oncoming or following traffic you take that information in used the information and adjust your speed/position to one that you can deal with the harard ( ipsga ) Information I have a long straight ahead followed by a right hand bend I have a car directly behind me whose prior driving style has been erratic/ aggresive No oncoming traffic . Position . Using the above information i feel that for me to obtain a better view i will seriously reduce my safety and the following vehicle may attempt to overtake/misunderstand my intentions . Speed/gear Due to my decreased view i will decrease my speed so that i can safely stop on my side of the carriageway in the distance i can clearly see in .once my safety and view has improved i shall then Accelerate .. They are not hard and fast rules of YOU MUST be on left of lane for right hander and right hand for left .. there is no step by step instruction that MUST be followed .. The common word as mentioned is Consider doing/a/using ..... but if through your continuos thought process of IPSGA sonething changes to impact on your safety you go back to Information... ie above situation Information I have a long straight ahead followed by a right hand bend I have a car directly behind me whose prior driving style has been erratic/ aggresive No oncoming traffic to start with but as the straight decreases Heavy oncoming traffic comes into play You can then use that to your advantage and give yourself a better position to increase view but still maintain a dominant lane position just closer to the carriage edge .
  14. Did you/do you need to disable the egr valve solenoid) (pair valve) Edited to get the correct name ...
  15. Remember advanced riding ...Safety over View .. not just what is in front but all around
  16. Gpz is a good bike .. yes a bit lacking in omphh but does still have that great kwak 4-5k rpm jekyll and hyde transition . Can be a bit cam chain noisy but thats a kwak . Happy Riding
  17. Ok how come i end way off topic as such thinking that the only thundercat i would rammount is Cheetara ...
  18. Motorways are just more strict dual carriageways in reality . Be vigilant .. Use your mirrors and be aware of what is around you and behind you ..ie if you've seen a green car in your mirrors a few seconds ago but it's not ahead of you or behind you its generally beside you .Livesavers . Dont get drawn into the flow stay at your happy pace BUT be aware large vehicles are physically restricted to 52-56mph but downhill can exceed that but drivers will try to keep it under 58-60 as it throws a warning at them otherwise so either stay below 50mph or around 60 to keep out of their way . Know which exit you need and try to get into lane 1 between 1mile marker and 1/2 mile marker don't leave it to last minute . If you need to stop unless in emergency come off motorway either at services or an exit onto a connecting a road rather than the hard shoulder ..Bikes dont stand out on hard shoulders very well . You will get the standard tailgaters , non observant road users so again be vigilant and use your horn if you need to. Even bikers will attempt to undertake you if your in lane three .(if your aware of them )i tend to move to right of lane and let them go Use your bikes ability to accelerate and deaccelerate to flow nicely but remember to give some rear warning if your going to slow down dramatically Watch out for lane dividing areas as they can have some huge craters where studs have dissapeared and been made larger with wear .. Don't be tempted to filter in high speed traffic .. (My personal comfort zone is if speed goes above 40mph i do not filter ) Be aware of your fuel status ... Entering a motorway same as always you sre expected to match your speed to enter live carriageways not making others change theirs or alter direction so plan your way down the slip road but be aware of vehicles behind you just barging out and breaching your safe gap ... Be seen ... headlights indicators brake lights ... hi vis Give your self a good gap ESPECIALLY if you see matrix signs with Debris in road as it may be a shredded hgv tyre which can be large chunks of rubber impregnated with sharp wire strands which will damage tyres ..and being to close to car in front and one of these coming into view a few feet away from under that car will require some evasive action . Take your time and relax and enjoy .. If your going to make a habit of motorways keep an eye more on your tyres squaring off ( wearing the central section and leaving a noticable ridge when leaning into corners ) and the amount if tread depth in that central area. Im not trying to teach egg sucking but easier to throw the basics out as well with other information

    Power Cut

If the loose cable block doesnt solve it ...Either renew the fuse or clean the fuse ends with a wirebrush/emery paper / wirewool/ brillo pad / rough stone (kerb edge)/ scrape with a knife blade . And depending on fuse holder type see if you can close the terminal points to make the fuse a tighter fit(gently)
  20. The key difference is Mum and Dad aren't going to sit on pillion of a 50cc moped while wee Johnny learns to ride. If they did they won't help much with wee Johnny's machine control. Cars can quite practically have Mum or Dad in the passenger seat supervising the L plate driver while they practice what had been taught in their lessons. That's not practical on a moped or 125, so wee Johnny on his L plates needs a way he can legally get out on the roads and practice on his own. The CBT is it. Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk But that is no excuse to let uneducated idiots loose on the roads after a few hours training That would lead to the demise of the takeaway delivery way of life .... could you handle it ?

  23. For the piston to collide with barrel means that there is extreme play on one of its pivot points of the con rod Check the big end bearings (crankshaft to connecting rod ) and the little end bearings (piston to connecting rod ) I would a either get a replacement engine Or b if your going to repair its better off doing it all once New piston ,barrell, rings, conrod and bearings and gaskets You can hone small marks out of cylinder bores but i mean small without then reboring to a larger piston size bore
  24. Note .they are asking for input on this until Feb 17th so don't stay quiet !
