    New Shock or Rebuild?

See if you can find a old hagon unit on ebay cheap enough ( £50) mark and then contact hagon for how they charge to refurb (mine would have been £100 approx but as my unit had been superceded therefore they couldnt refurb it they replaced it with a new unit at a discount price of £200) instead of the £340 pricetag
  11. Just a bit of background check Did the bike just stop starting one day ? Or were there some circumstances leading up to it ie rode through deep puddles , been left standing for a period of time . Had some other work done on it prior to the fault appearing? Had any other previous issues? Just so that myself and im sure Spanners can start to try a make a mental fault finding process based on those fact to help you get going again .
  12. Do you have a set of jump leads ? Try connecting one end of any lead to anywhere on the engine block ie cylinder head that is metal not aluminuim and offers a good connection or if possible to the starter motor housing/bolts .then the end of the same lead to the batteries NEGATIVE terminal . Then try starting the bike . It may have a bad engine to frame earth connection .
  13. Does it start if you bump start it ? Also try engaging a gear and rocking the bike backwards and forwards a few times and then select neutral and try starting .

  15. to be honest I wouldn't want the pressure on the seals all the time especially if you lay the bike up for some time although light pressure wouldn't hurt Yeah good point.. might be useful when parking for short periods of time though, kind of like a hand brake for bikes! Will never happen though as manufacturers have little interest in preventing theft as it would reduce sales of replacement bikes. Piaggo three wheelers have a handbrake that's only disabled after the ignition is turned on
  16. heres a thought - if the chain was covered in the same stuff they make Chainsaw trousers from, would it block the grinder in the same way it stalls the chainsaw?? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ah-FmYnaIWw Chainsaw trousers fibres build up between the chain and sprocket and force the chain to tighten to the point it cant turn . Grinder Wheels are a direct drive method so no way it can build up to create that drag
  17. Bike fallen over . Check electrolyte level in battery .if its low the battery gets knackered quickly
  18. Not seen the previous thread and quick googling threw that ad up so apologies. And would it come under a construction and use regs for the sharp edge/point as a danger to pedestrians etc hence no uk manufacturer/seller
  19. Legally there is no issue. If a crash occured, as I have to keep repeating when people ask here whose fault is it, it all depends on the circumstances in respect of liability. Is it also the case if..if road markings say as above straight on and right turn only your fine as long as not seperate traffic light controlled on a staggered setting where you may breach an ASL on the right turn. BUT if road markings and a sign stating lane directions then you can be at risk of prosecution for not complying (heard this from IAM observer ) .

  24. As a driver of a vehicle that is not allowed by law in the outside lane of a three lane or more (dual lane is allowed) motorway and is limited to 56mph it raises the conundrum of especially on three laned motorways vehicles travelling in lane2 at 50mph and have no intention of moving into lane1 . A i could remain in lane 1 and reduce my speed to not undertake B move into lane 2 and announce my prescence and intentions but in a non aggresive manner and keep behind the vehicle if they do not acknowledge and move to lane1 C move into lane 2 and use the size and other methods of my vehicle to force them to move into lane 1 (but a ... not my style and b .its quite a predominantly yellow highly liveried vehicle of a well known association.) D. As legally i can only use two lanes and by rule 268 Do not overtake on the left or move to a lane on your left to overtake. In congested conditions, where adjacent lanes of traffic are moving at similar speeds, traffic in left-hand lanes may sometimes be moving faster than traffic to the right. In these conditions you may keep up with the traffic in your lane even if this means passing traffic in the lane to your right. Do not weave in and out of lanes to overtake. I stay in lane 1 and pass I am technically keeping up with traffic in lane 1 generally 56mph hgvs and lane 2 is technically congested by the vehicle traveling at 50mph I am also not weaving across lanes after to gain advantage . But there is always that riskof them suddenly realising they are hogging lane 2 and manoeuvring into lane1
