  1. With exploring it's delete them or get done for trespass and get them deleted legally (+ a fine etc). Delete them there and then like good boys and you get to walk away. The police are not stupid. They can tell if you are a bona-fide explorer or a chav, they just don't want the hassle of the 9hrs paperwork. Can't believe you got caught though, the shame!!
  2. Jobsworth ar*eholes who have lives so dull this is how they liven things up a bit. To be fair, the centre does have a no photographs policy due to terrorism threat. Now bearing in mind the events at Glasgow Airport a while ago that is fair enough but a bloke taking pic's of his kid eating an ice cream or whatever it was then discretion, as mentioned in the official statement, should have been the key to dealing with this issue here. Again, back to my first sentence, jobsworth ar*eholes. No one has any right to confiscate your camera or make you delete your memory card, no one can make you do that. There is much discussion on every photography forum about this and on some/most Urban Exploration websites where 'explorers' have been caught and asked to delete their pictures. This kind of situation has nothing to do with the PC/Nanny state we live in, it's more to do with ignorance and poor training on the guards behalf. You can take pics of more or less anything in the Uk, except obvious high security stuff in which you would expect a tug from someone dressed in black! But generally, your free to do whatever you like with your camera. The 'Heavy Handed' approach is mainly down to people, like the security guards here, who don't have a clue about photographers rights and the law surrounding it.

    R.I.P Steve Jobs

Clever guy. A great loss to the industry. RIP SJ. Found this kind of interesting a few months ago when on a course at work. ">
  4. Happy Birthday, hope you had a great day
  5. Maybe by their own admission from a few but there are thousands more who actually own property and live on designated sites and have done for decades. More importantly they are called Travelers (one L) now because the media won't call them Gypsies because of the PC mad society we live in now days. There is a big difference in the Romany Travelers (who do traditionally travel) and the Gypsies we all know and love, the latter being whom we are talking about here.
  6. So everyone who is saying to move them on, well, where to? They had a place (that they owned) with amenities etc, now what? They will turn up en-mass at a nice place somewhere and ruin that. Prob pissing off the local, law abiding, tax paying people who live nearby. Crime will go up there too according to what has been posted here. So, move them on, really, a good idea? Your not doing anything but simply moving the problem elsewhere (I am sure the people who live nearby where they go next will be pleased with your idea), not solving it which is what the govn't should be looking at doing.
  7. I voted for Stay. Simply because now they will set up camp in a kids park or somewhere really nice, leaving loads and loads of shit behind when they eventually get moved on. I am not being stereotypical here either. This happens a lot here in Brighton. They move onto a nice bit of land in a decent park or something like that and when they get moved on they leave the place like a shit-hole. Mess everywhere. As I say this is a regular occurrence down here. The council try and prevent them from doing it again by installing huge rocks or digging a ditch where they used to access these places but they simply come along and fill them in just enough to get their vehicles on. Or, like they did last year, use a JCB to move the rocks aside. There is the argument that they should have designated areas for them to live in each county then they wouldn't move onto places like parks, common-land etc but then how many of them would move to a designated site where they can be traced and even pay some kind of revenue for living there, facilities etc...
  8. You have done well Steve. Just remember if anything kicks off again to just turn your back and walk away. Best thing you could ever do. Good luck

    Internet Anonymity

I can see how it can be used for bullying, but how is it a from of bullying in itself? It's down to interpretation. you got it right first time there.

  17. Brighton is fantastic, easy train and road access to London (50mins on the train) It's expensive to buy a place but reasonable rent if you want to rent somewhere, but it's a brilliant place to live. Loads of amazing roads around the area too, there are quite a few of us from work who go out at least once a week. We go off all over the place, Hampshire, Surrey, Kent etc, usually do around 150 miles on a ride out. There are so many good roads and places to go from here, too many to list here but just look on Google maps or something and see where you can go from here. If you get a place on the seafront you have the amazing views of the seafront with the two piers and the great view out to sea. Also about a ten min ride is the Sussex Downs, there is a pub up there just outside Brighton at a place called Devils Dyke which has stunning views of all over Sussex and beyond. Nights out in Brighton are good too with something for everyone, if you want a quiet one there are plenty of nice pubs around town for a good pint or if you want to go mad there are some crazy pubs around town. Clubs and music pubs a plenty, you can have whatever night you want here in Brighton. Whatever music/social scene you like, there are places for all tastes down here. Brighton has a lively, good local music scene with loads of pubs offering live music almost every weeknight and there are also the Komedia club where top acts from all over the world come do a bit and there are two big venues, The Brighton Center and the Brighton Pavilion which attract the biggest names for concerts etc. Couple of theaters too if that is your thing. A great place to live and very welcoming too. I have been here since 91 and I can't see myself living anywhere else now really, it's just a great place really.
