Welcome to the Mark. It depends what sort of finance you have. Some will let you pay it off early for a reduced amount. Was it arranged through a bike shop?

A Super Soco 125 equivalent motorcycle. His other bike was a KTM duke 125.

I was speaking to someone the other day who pulled up on an electric bike. He said the insurance was about the same as his other bike. But very few insurance companies would touch it. Not a good sign.

You are right. I know people who love MotoBatt batteries. And others who wouldn't fit them if they were free.

How do people like my dad, who can't even text get an appointment? It's stupid. I told him after covid that my doctor won't do prescriptions from the doctors anymore. You have to do it online. Or go to your registered chemist. Then have them do it for you. He nearly freaked out!

My father just had both of his done. It went very well with no problems. I had one done about 30 years ago. It made quite a difference. But I later had to go back and have the laser on it. That was a strange feeling. Not painful. But felt like there was a spark plug sparking in the middle of my head.

I noticed at Gunwarf quays when I moved here. That motorcycles are free. But they have a metal box you can pay a pound to store your helmet inside. Most bikers wouldn't mind if that was the case elsewhere.

yes they were. But emissions didn't really start tightening up till 2007 with Euro 3.

Being a 2004 model the carbs shouldn't be as effected by emissions. But being twenty years old the pilot jets can corrode inside. They are so small that it can make quite a difference to low speed running. The first up to quarter throttle is mainly controlled by the pilot jet. So @Simon Davey could be on the right track. What exactly did they do when looking at the carbs?

Yes it makes no sense at all. I remember talking to a manager at a Honda dealership. He was saying that they have to take so many of certain models. Even if they know it won't sell. Which leaves them selling a bike at a loss. This was the bike in question. A Honda DN-1!

Worse case scenario of you decide to keep it. Then later on its not what you want. It's not depreciating anymore. It's not worth a lot, and will give you something to play with.

I wonder how long it would be before they are looking at being a franchise to another brand? It must be quite attractive to another manufacturer.

That's a little like the council here. The local park is always flooded in the winter. When they extended the sea defences, it was a multi-million pound job. The company doing it costed doing the park for £10,000. As it's right next to the sea defences. And they would have all the machinery there. The council declined. Now it's going to be £80,000 to fix. And in the meantime we are still left with flooded park. As they haven't got the money.

Could you not use some of that freeze spray that freezes the water pipes. @Bender I don't envy you doing that in this weather.
