  1. Absolutely agree and I'd forgotten about plain white being usually the cheapest. Certainly not going to pay an additional £100 just for graphics.
  2. Some little scooter apparently took a potshot at my wife's car while she was on a quiet section of the M5. Hit the windscreen which now needs replacing. A bit peeved.
  3. Yesterday in an owners forum I happened to mention that I was thinking of changing the end can of my exhaust. I would leave the hideous cat unit but swap out the end can. The responses I got made me somewhat irked. Basically I got called every kind of idiot known to man for even thinking about messing up this finely tuned instrument blah blah blah. I make no claims to being any kind of expert in this field so if its a potentially damaging thing to do then obviously I won't. If its harmless then I will. Any opinions on the forum? Not that I'll necessarily listen to them mind!

  5. I wear a white helmet but purely because in warm weather its cooler to wear and for me more comfortable.
  6. Still don't like the 2CV so there. However I did learn to drive in my dad's Citroën DS. Now that was a car worthy of the name.
  7. I thought they'd just about banned parades unless it meets a suitable degree of political correctness?
  8. I didn't know they were designed. Thought they were someone's 3 year old drawing a "car".
  9. Its the movements made in the final 80 minutes of the procedure. Its not exactly rapid. Think kerbside parking on steroids.
  10. I wish I could. Serious surgery would be required.
  11. Quite like the Piston Club myself. Enjoyed looking at your pics of bikes too until the last one of some hideous French monstrosity.
  12. Squeezed into a berth on dock built in the 1950's for things smaller than us at 0130 this morning.
  13. Yep. As of April 1st ( and isn't that the right date!) Scotland will become a pound shop North Korea with its very own thought police. Forget about catching criminals that's not on the cards at all. Mind you the rest of the UK isn't much better.
  14. Presumably all was not well in the world of work. Hopefully you find something to do which ticks all the right boxes for you.
  15. That would be more than a bit annoying and in the worst possible place as well. I think bast*rd would have been the most genteel comment I might have made.
  16. Happens all the time mate. That's why I got the new bike. I said I shouldn't but other me said go for it. So I did.
  17. So not much has changed vis a vis Scottish police then. My fortunately few encounters with them have been uniformly unpleasant.
  18. Tomorrow noon we shift from where we are now into New York's Stapleton anchorage. Then at 00:30 on Sunday we shift into our berth for cargo ops, so a busy weekend but hopefully drama free.
  19. It's definitely not in the average seaman's regular vocabulary.
  20. You really need the white leather gauntlets to look the part. Not sure what part necessarily but definitely something.
  21. Sounds like an awful lot of fun. Enjoy yourselves.
  22. I think I've met him in Gloucestershire. The number of idiots who bimble along at 40-45 then when you overtake them try and catch you up or speed through a village so they can is quite high. You can play with them a bit though if you are in the mood.
  23. Glad I don't do spannering. Sounds like an open invitation to buggeruppery to me. Or at least for me.
  24. I find that at least when I'm talking to myself I can have a sensible conversation.
